Specialty Surgical Center of Westlake Village

I had a colonoscopy at this facility in June and rated my experience as 5-star. The staff were all kind and friendly and the doctor was clear with his summary. Today my husband was in for a colonoscopy and the staff seemed disorganized. I called several times to see if he was ready for pickup but they couldn't tell me that they were running over an hour late. Then, when I came to pick up my husband, we waited for about 45 minutes for the dr to come by and tell us that there were no issues. The dr was short and kind of rude to my husband. Not sure if the dr was just having a bad day, but I wasn't as happy with the experience.

This place called me and emailed me repeatedly days before my surgery to make sure that I knew I had to pay $1300 in full prior to my surgery in order for them to do the operation. They did this, but no one there noticed that an ekg had been sent in that indicated that I should have never even had the surgery. Only the anesthesiologist noticed this, but it was too late. They collected their $1300 in full before even being willing to check me in. They would have refused to do the surgery had I not been able to pay. But the troubling ekg was no trouble for them. They just want their money.

I then find out a few months later that my insurance paid every cent of the $43,000 bill issued to them by Surgical Center. Did Surgical Center let me know that they had overcollected? Did they immediately send my money back to me? No. In fact, I have emailed the head of Billing, Ortensia Valdez, and the Manager of Surgical Center, Ryan McNeely, five times since my surgery of June 8 requesting the refund of my $1300. They have yet to even bother replying to me. I seriously doubt they will ever give me the funds they were so anxious to collect rather than focusing on making sure my surgery was a safe one. What a disappointment. Go to Las Robles instead.

Got my wisdom teeth pulled here last week and they made everything super comforting and smooth. Doctor Ara Mirzaians was totally kind and helpful and calming. This was my first time being put under for a surgery and I was a bit nervous. He made it easy and quick the nurses around him were also very kind and helpful. They did a quick and smooth job and not only checked up on me once that same day but TWICE even the surgeon himself which I thought was VERY kind. My sister had hers done here too and had a good experience as well.
My consultation was a very trusting consultation as well. Trust is the most important thing when it comes to medical and dental and he reached that trust with me and explained in deep detail everything and made me very aware of every option and route I could go. I’m very appreciative.
