SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Diego Mission Valley

There is a smoking/cigarette box on the other side of the pool wall. It is TERRIBLE! You can smell the cigarette smoke at ALL TIMES. Couldn't enjoy pool. Such a shame because it's a very nice little area. Rooms were excellent. Common areas super comfortable, spacious and clean.

Upon checking in on 12/9/22 at approx 6: 30 pm PST my Discover credit card was charged by SpringHill TWICE, once for $290 and another for $420. The rate I was quoted when I made the reservation was $245.68.  Was the charge for "420, " a joke in reference to marijuana? Are there rates that high at the property? When I was contacted by Discover about the charges, I sent my son to the front desk at approx 7: 45 pm. The woman at the front desk told my son that the manager was "on break" and told him to "come back at 8: 30. " Then, at 7: 53 pm he was told that the additional charge would be "refunded by tomorrow morning. " I then phoned the front desk at 9: 15 pm, after the manager was set to return from break.  I asked for the manager. I was put on hold (too long) and when asked who I was speaking to I was told "Karen, " by a female who refused to give me her last name. She then told me, "the manager is gone all weekend and he is the only person that can issue a refund. " Multiple lies at this point, from staff at the hotel. I still have not been issued a refund, 3 days later.

Great location and friedly staff. The room was clean and very nicely laid out. The complimentary breakfast was good and had enough variety. Overall, a great experience.

This hotel cancelled my reservation the day of my check in due to an error that could had been easily fixed by giving me a simple phone call. Instead, they emailed me the cancellation just hours before check in time so I had rush to find other accommodations. Terrible.

Clean. Convenient. Standard Springhill room sizes are always good. Hot breakfast is great for families. The staff refilling and cleaning the busy breakfast area are ON it. Makes all the difference.

No highway noise!
It is completely sound proof even though our room was towards the highway.

I was impressed upon arrival! The ladies at the desk were very pleasant, which complimented the bright, airy lobby. The rooms are just as welcoming, with a clean contemporary feel. This hotel is conveniently located near shopping centers and restaurants. Already planning my return stay.

The employees were all very attentive and helpful. The rooms were clean, and the complimentary breakfast was decent. I thought it would be louder since my room faced the freeway, but it wasn’t. It was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. Location was close to a good selection of eateries and shopping.

Welcoming, clean and newer feeling hotel. Breakfast was what you could expect from a continental breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The entrance to the hotel was a bit restricted and hard for some Uber and Lyft drivers to find.

Better than some of the other Marriott's I've stayed in this year (6 this year). Nicely decorated, toilet separate from the shower. Bar area with a dorm fridge. Separate desk area with couch and seating area.
Bed is on its last leg. Could feel every spring throughout.
There's an issue with the water temp in the shower. Two options for temperature. Scalding hot (once it wastes gallons of water to get hot), or cool.

My sister and I booked this hotel for its proximity to Sea World. It is right by the freeway, which we were initially concerned about. But it turned out not to be much of a concern at all:)! For both days of our weekend stay, we were still able to sleep really well:)! None of the hotel guests at the pool were loud enough to disrupt our sleep! And we couldn't hear the cars from the freeway either!

A super friendly and extremely courteous front desk receptionist named Ashley checked us in and made us feel extremely welcome from the start: D!

We were treated really well and courteously by her and everyone at the front desk, as well as by all the employees who serviced the breakfast for the weekend that we stayed there:)!

Patty, a super kind-hearted and friendly lady, who worked in the kitchen even came by our breakfast table on one of the mornings to let us know that we were welcome to help ourselves to any more breakfast items before they wrapped up the breakfast area by 9: 30 am: D! We felt that the breakfast was still pretty decent and tasty for being complimentary:)!

Our hotel room was really clean and spotless:)! And as I had requested, the employees who prepared our hotel room made sure that they provided the extra blankets that I had requested (in case it got really cold in San Diego at night) :)!

Thanks a million for making our stay so enjoyable and comfortable: D! I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, whether it's for business or for leisure:)! I would love to stay here again in the future: D!

Although I feel that this Springhill Suites already provides us with plenty of coffee in the morning during our complimentary breakfast session, there is a Starbucks within walking distance from the hotel, and also an iFly next-door for anyone who wants to try that: D!

Overall this hotel was okay. My particular room had a few issues that just seem like sloppiness in construction and poor maintenance. The shower sloped away from the drain, the AC unit made a noise like it was a strangled cat, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way. The breakfast was mediocre given the price of the hotel. Also, if you get a room on the freeway side of the building you’ll get some lovely road noise pretty much all night. The rest of the room was nice enough and the folks at the front desk were plenty friendly and helpful.

This hotel was was fine but the room was outdated, the free breakfast had zero vegan options or alternative milk… it’s 2022 so you think this wouldn’t be hard.

They did have an okay gym and the front desk attendant was friendly every time.

It’s a solid place to stay for a quick trip but considering the other hotels in the area, I’d probably choose something else.

There was an issue with flooding to my room before I arrived. They booked a room for me at one of their other hotels, which sucked because we wanted the pool specifically and the new hotel didn't have one, however, they comped the room entirely. I appreciate that they took responsibility and took care of me. Thanks.

Such great experience. Very nice installations. The room so clean and comfortable. Very cool pool. Definitely we'lll come back soon.
