St Agnes Catholic Church

The acoustics inside are excellent. It's easy to hear everything from all the way in the back.

Outdoor Catholic Mass here is very reverant and holy with the grotto behind the alter and a very excellent sound system and the people are friendly even with covid19 going on!

We went there for 4: 30 pm Saturday vigil mass. It's a smallish Catholic Church on 1140 Evergreen St.in Point Loma. Sunday masses are at 8am, 11am and 5: 30pm. Limited parking in the back and entrance on the Avenida de Portugal side. We enjoyed the service here

What a very welcoming congregation and beautiful church. Celebrating the Eucharist with these fine people while visiting San Diego for the hydroplane races was honestly the highlight of our trip.

Celebrated Vigil Mass while on vacation and felt very welcomed. Located in a beautiful residential area.

Very pious Catholic Church. First Saturday Mass with the Third Order of Carmelites at 8: 00 AM Mass. Beautiful community.

We had a good experience here. I was a visitor who attended the Saturday Vigil with my family. It was nice to drive up to a small church with much character and generally polite people.

First of all, the parish was mostly welcoming with a small population consisting of a majority of retirees and small families. These parishioners all knew one another which made me feel that they were a close-knit parish.

Next, the mass had music sung wonderfully by a man accompanied with his guitar. We were familiar with all of the music sung by him and enjoyed singing each one all the way to the Processional song.

In addition, we found the priest to be humorous and friendly. He made us laugh with his side jokes. After mass, he made it a point to have a conversation with us (I am sure he knew we were visiting).

On the other hand, the only drawback that I did have was an older lady that did stare at us for a number of times (I am not sure if it was because we were the only obvious brown-skin people there). We did feel like we were being judged for that brief time with her. Then again, no matter where one goes in the world, we should expect that there will be people who are prejudiced.

All in all, St. Agnes is a good Catholic Church to visit here in Point Loma. I would attend Mass with my family there again. I do recommend attending this church if one wants to avoid the bigger crowds. If I were to relocate to San Diego, this church would definitely be our regular parish.
