Patients left unattended. My daughter was rushed to this hospital. She had IV fluids. The nurse left the IV until my daughter’s IV was done. She never came back to check. I asked another nurse for help, but instead of helping, she just said that she will let our nurse know. Then we waited for another 30 minutes no one came, so I turned off my daughter’s IV myself, before another nurse came to remove the IV bag. The nurse who inserted the IV, left her trash on my daughter’s bed, so I cleaned her mess. Nurses never introduced their names, so we didn’t know who to look for help. ER rooms are filthy, there’s stool on the curtain. Someone left a dirty hospital gown in the commode, this is by far the worst ER experience.

My mother died in this hospital during a routine surgery. Please visit your loved ones if they are in this hospital. She had medi-cal insurance and was treated poorly because of that, I wonder if she did have rich, expensive health insurance if she still be alive today. It was awful, I want my mother back.

Edit: I've filed a BBB complaint.

And now they're calling me because my dispute was rejected. Without ever contacting me. I asked for a dispute form to be sent to me. For the first time. I never got one prior, but I had two disputes. Who is running this billing department? Seriously?

Note: The lovely ladies who answer the phone and do process my requests do so without complaint. They inform me of my status without judgement.

I don't know who runs the billing department and I really hope we never meet. You are awful at your jobs. Stop being lazy, send out itemized statements and CALL people who request phone calls.

Trying to get an itemized bill from this place was like pulling teeth. I was bounced to several different people and finally put in a dispute. IT TOOK A YEAR FOR THEM TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE DISPUTE. No results, just to tell me $800 had been taken off. Okay? But where's the itemized bill showing what that $800 was for? I paid them a flat $3k and informed the woman (Katrina was lovely!) in the business office and asked her to put it back in dispute.

They billed me for a Hep C test - which I refused. My doctor at the time told me it was covered by a grant. Okay, but I don't want it. They tested me anyway.
They billed me for a Syphilis test - which I also refused. My doctor informed me at the time it was also covered by a grant. Okay, still don't want that!
They billed me for a pregnancy test. My tubes are tied, my doctor was informed. No reason for that, but trying to bleed me for money seems to be a go to in this hospital.

And I got phone calls about my request for an itemized bill several months after I asked for it. MONTHS later! Are you kidding?

Once again I asked for an itemized bill for all charges, pending and dismissed. This is beyond my comprehension at this point. They lost another star for shoddy business practices.

This place billed my insurance $7k for me sitting in a plastic chair in a crowded, dirty hallway, with overworked people and ONE bathroom for all emergency patients to share. That is disgusting. The entryway and admitting area was poorly lit, and dirty looking. My insurance paid you 2k. You bill me the balance of $5k? Excuse me? I've never paid that much for anything medical, ever. There's supposed to be a "no surprises" act with this hospital. Well I sure as hell was surprised by my bill if you can't tell.

I've been to emergency rooms in my home state before, for myself prior to my move to CA. Spent the same amount of time, but there were three bathrooms available, cleaned hourly. The floors were mopped and swept every three hours, more after the pandemic. Emergency admitting was well lit and clean. I had the same number of blood vials drawn from the same spot on my hand. I paid $200 total. No balance billing. My insurance then did the same thing my current insurance did, said here is how much you're getting to the hospital. The hospital then, because ALL not for profit hospitals are supposed to write off what they're not paid by insurance, sent me an itemized bill noting insurance and what they write off.

Your billing needs an overhaul, there is no such thing as a not for profit hospital balance billing patients. Your hallways need a deep scrub (my shoes were sticking to the floor), and you're in need of more bathrooms.

The only reason you get two stars is because the nurses (who are way over worked) the phlebotomist who took my first three vials, and my doctor were all very nice people.

My mother was sent here for a suspected (accidental) OD. She was showing symptoms such as poor coordination, speech difficulty, and shaking/twitching. However, this was apparently not deemed serious enough for immediate attention and she was instead made to wait for about 2 hours until getting any sort of treatment. The doctors disregarded her concerns and mentions of this occurring before, and simply blamed it on a "severe UTI" before sending her home. They sent her out of the hospital with no aid- or even shoes! - and told her to "look for her ride". Absolutely appalling, horrid, and undignified treatment of patients. Do NOT come here if you can help it.

Took My Son In Because He Had Very Obvious Face swelling due to tooth injury which I was told if it happened to take him in as it could be an infection. All for a "doctor" to literally look at his face. Didnt check inside lips which is where the injury was, and said well it could be an infection youll know when it looks bad. This is a 2 year old. Mind you its after hours of dentist office. Next morning I had to make an emergency dentist visit and they were in awe how they didnt prescribe antibiotics as how obvious it was there was something wrong. A waste of time and resources on doctors like that!

Rude nurse's. I suppose it's because they were short handed but it was unacceptable to me

I made an appointment for a CT Scane. All staff were friendly and helpful. I was taken for the Scane with very little wait time. The entire process went smoothly. I highly recommend Dignity Health - St. Joseph’s Xray and Imaging Department. Luis Mercado

All staff was wonderful. I want to especially thank Oscar my RN for all he did for me. He was very out going and took the time to explain everything as I was nervous about procedure and he went above and beyond in caring for me. He made me feel at ease and anything I needed he took care of. I have had several surgery/procedures at St. Joes and all have been great because of the caring staff. Thanks again for my great care.

Everyone was so incredibly nice! The nurse that checked me in made me laugh and each time he checked on me, I wish I could remember his name. My attending nurse was just as great! I enjoyed my short stay. Thank you,

You would have got 5 stars if I didn't have to wait 2.5 hours on a gurney to preform my 20 minute procedure.

I felt like a Queen my technician had the most beautiful personality she was soo kind. She was a breath of fresh air in a difficult world. Wow! I can talk about her for an hour. She was a very positive and special person to me. I can't say enough awesome things from the bottom of my heart. I appreciated and needed a kind person that day. Thank you young lady. I talked about you on prayerline we're studying the fruits of the spirit. Right now it's about kindness which I need a lot of help with. Seeing her that day taught me a lesson of patience and kindness. I propose a raise for her kindred spirit.

I was very impressed with not only the hospital, but the care from nurses, anesthesiologists and therapists. Everyone was and looked very professional in their chosen field and I was treated with respect. Can't say enough good things about the hospital.
