St Matthew's Church, Newport Beach CA

I was here for 3 1/2 years. It was due to an unresolvable personal issue that I finally left. I could not stay after having been somewhat devastated by how I was responded to after going to the Bishop with an ongoing relationship issue. I tried to work out an understanding, but it wasn't possible. After leaving, I heard from only one person who wished me well. No one else reached out. That was my experience here for the most part, that if you don't fit in right away you will be sort of an outsider. They don't make much effort to connect with people individually. The high mass is beautiful, but genuine concern for parishioners is even better than that. The other clergy are just fine though. Some very thoughtful sermons given. I did learn a lot.
