Stag's Leap Wine Cellars reviews

The wine that brought Napa Valley to the world
It's not spacious inside, but it's cute and very nice.
We came up to Stag’s Leap for a wine tasting a few weeks ago and had the most incredible experience. The wine itself was some of the best we’ve ever had and they seated us at a table with a beautiful view of the vineyard. The experience got even better thanks to our wine educator Victor. He was so engaging and we learned so much. We can’t wait to come back and visit.
Had an amazing experience at SLWC two days ago! Have been a member of their club for 20 years and their appreciation for our loyalty was impressive and heart warming. Thank you SLWC, your wine, service, and care continue to exceed expectations!
Great service, very informative and awesome tasting selection! Scott was extremely welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended
Was disappointed in my experience. We felt it was not very personal or informative compared to other wineries we visited over our weekend. I was told I would be reimbursed for the tasting fee if I bought a bottle of wine and that wasn’t the case and they refused to honor what I was told when I called later. There are better experiences to be had in Napa.
This is a required stop when in Napa Valley. The reds are amazing. This was our second visit, and it did not disappoint. We did the celestial tour and tasting this time, and the food paired exquisitely with the wines. Their S. L. V.and Cask 23 are our favorite.
This was our first tasting and wine tour of our day in Napa. And first California winery visit ever. What a way to start. Not to be confused with Stags’ Leap (note apostrophe after the S), this winery was the original winner of the 1976 Judgement of Paris that put Napa on the map. Out of all the wines we tasted I was most impressed with their whites. I definitely love a good cab but the Chardonnay took me by surprise. Much more delicate and not as buttery and rich as I am accustomed to. All in all, wonderful tour. Great history. The wines were fantastic. Loved the Fay. And Victor, our guide brought a perfect energy to kick off our day of tasting. I will definitely be buying / drinking more of their wines in the future. We did the celestial tour with food tasting. Food was a very well balanced and tasty complement to the wine. Wouldn’t think twice about going again. And maybe trying more of their food and wine.
This place is amazing. With a rich history and great accomplishments, they are reasonably priced for their wine tasting, and our host Mark is amazing. He is so cool and tentative. We had such a great time. I strongly recommend anyone who loves wine to stop by this place. Their red wines are great and I'm sure many people will enjoy them.
One of my best life-time experience. I went to stag's leap winery in Napa valley. I enjoyed their wine tasting to its fullest. Choice of wine, beautiful winery view, friendly staff and their service gave me one of the best gift. I love their scenery, food, and legacy. I will come to this to celebrate my anniversary. I highly recommend it. Everyone know why stag leap wine is the best. I wouldn't go to Paris to tase wine, as this is superior.
The wine tasting and cave tour was an amazing experience! Our wine educators was the best!
Stag's Leap proved to be a disappointing choice, especially considering the steep $100 per person fee and the total cost of over $400 for our group of four. The pre-poured tastings were meager, offering much less than a single glass of wine per person. The lack of personalized attention from the staff meant we had to read about the wines ourselves, which undermined the essence of a premium wine tasting. This experience felt more like a money-driven operation rather than a genuine attempt to provide an enjoyable and informative wine tasting experience. Given the high cost and underwhelming offerings, I strongly recommend exploring other wineries that offer better value for money and a more engaging experience.
Excellent tasting overlooking the vineyards. Victor was really pleasant and competent in explanations. The wines tasted are excellent and characteristic of the area, it is worth visiting the cellar!
A very enjoyable wine tasting. We were able to try 5-6 wines. Great indoor experience looking right at the mountains. The way they created the indoor space makes you feel like you’re outside and an arms length from the vines. Mo was great!
This winery produces majorly red wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon. We went there during hot days so instead of testing outside, we were seated inside of a cell. Our flight that day included one Chardonnay and three Cabernet Sauvignon. Our sommelier Jojo was very nice and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions. We also required other wines that were not in the flight and he was more than welcome to do that. In general it was a pleasant experience tasting there. The reason that I only gave 4 stars is that the wine there does not really match my preference especially for the white wines. Their Chardonnay lacks its own characteristics and the Sauvignon Blanc is too fragrant to consume.
