Starfish Restaurant, Fountain Valley CA

My company held a Christmas dinner here last night. It was my first time eating here and i must say, the foods were delicious. We had our private event room in the back. We had the 7 course meal which included crabmeat soup (great), chicken, fish, lobster noodles (awesome), fried rice, steak etc. All the dishes were tasty and just right. I will definitely come back and recommend this place.

This is the best Vietnamese Restaurant around the OC. Seriously, everything I've eaten here has been delicious and fresh. I can't say enough about their Tamarind Fish Soup and their Catfish in Claypot. Also their soda xi moui is my go to drink. I will eventually explore their fresh seafood boils, but I go there for comfort food. Go here, you will not be remotely dissatisfied. 10 stars, keep up the great work!

Front door wide open and, Freezing Cold inside. Had to put my coat and scarf back on. Undercooked beef, over Undercooked noodles. Food got cold really fast, for some reason. Weird menu. Overpaid, for spit-n-chew. No Tip! Never going back.

The catfish soup is authentic and fresh - I love that it’s cooking on the table! The catfish stew is also well made where the fish stays moist, not too salty so I can eat it without rice. Deep fried tofu is crispy on outside and melt in your mouth delicious on the inside

I usually don't give reviews, but this place is so bad that I have to make a public service announcement. I called and placed an order for a large cat fish for take-out, but instead got a small to medium size catfish. The fish was bland and the sauces were horrible. They ruined my favorite dish, I would slap them with a fat zero if I could.

This is my family favorite place, came in order whole bunch of food come very quick sometimes we called ordered ahead of we want big fish

Really, really good. Hidden delight. Dishes are simple but complex in flavor and balanced. Egg rolls are amazing. The tofu is good too. Fresh food/vegetables. Not sure why others have left lower ratings, but I’m now questioning the sanity/palette of those reviewers

Make sure you get the Ong Choi (basically some amazing garlic sauteed spinach), if you like catfish the catfish dish is always here! Okay.make sure you try the garlic noodles with beef or shrimp. The beef is so tender and amazing, and shrimp is cooked perfectly, no rubber shrimpery at all. Ever! And there is no bad juju here at all ever with the hostesses, servers, chefs, this whole place is just 100%! I grew up in Little Saigon, OC (represent!), And I got to tell you this is one of the most beautiful gems I have ever found! They are kind to me whether I'm by myself or with 50 people. On top of that they have to go orders and they have exception of EBT even for to go orders. It is an amazing spot and we really love coming here!

Pretty glad I tried this place. They offer a big variety and the prices aren't too bad. Only thing is that the service could be a little more attentive and speedy. Took awhile to get our food but once we did we were satisfied. Tried the fish sauce glazed wings, fried calamari, combination fried rice, filet mignon with garlic noodles and it was all delicious! Oh yes they also accept EBT for payment.

The roasted catfish for rolls is excellent. A variety of herbs, rice noodles, rice paper, and sauces accompany the fishes. You customize the rolls yourself. You need to preorder the fish since it takes 45 minutes to prepare. We called ahead and got our fish 10 minutes after we got our other dishes. Everything tasted great.

Can be inconsistent, fresh/good fried catfish or overcooked fish. I recommend ordering 45 min-1 hr ahead of time for takeout. The fish was medium size for about $50. They gave us plenty of lettuce and raw banana slices with two big cups of tamarind and fish sour sauces. We haven't tried other dishes so I can't say.

The food here is good. I ordered for pick up and the food was delicious when I brought it home.

They server good Vietnamese foods here, but they don't have enough staff to server customers.

Excellent service.good portions well priced.wife said it reminded her of Cebuano style Philippine home cooking.the fried Pampano was fresh and mild fish.not oily.only $12.ambiance is very desirable.outside almost better than inside doning.ask for Tao as server.delightful.all are commendable.even their table water is good
