I was very excited to finally find a company willing to service my non-Generac generator. A service that isn't easy to find. Service day came, and I did not really expecting them to show as the weather was horrible. No surprise, when they didn't show. I was however expecting a call to reschedule, but that never happened. Today I received a bill for $257 stating that they had showed, but left when they found the generator running with nobody home. We were home. My wife faces the driveway when working from home and notices every car that comes down, especially when we are expecting someone. I was home, and was checking often. I even moved a meeting that had schedule during the service window so that I would be free to engage with the tech. They said they knocked on the front door. We have cameras. That didn't happen. They only have my cell number. They never tried calling. My generator wasn't running, because I knew it needed to be cool to be serviced.

I give them credit for agreeing to disregard the bill. However, they had the audacity to tell me that I would need to pay up front for future service. Not a problem! I would never turn to these charlatans! They should have apologized and offered to come back! I imagine they went to the wrong house, but that's not my mistake.

You can do better!

Extremely expensive, basic service and repairs take months to get completed, poor customer service. Not recommended for any generator service.

Lovely building, you don't see architecture like this anymore. Tucked away in the base of a mountain. Beautiful hills and trees line the stea around it. You wouldnt even know there was town around the corner. Or adversely a multi level huge building hiding away.

So I'm not sure if State Electric is still in business here as every building I've been in is in horrible condition. However one of the buildings is home to the Santa Cruz Derby League and has a full derby rink inside. It's pretty badass. The Derby leaders, Ima and Neo, have done simply an incredible job revamping the place and turning it into a top notch home for the kids' derby. Ima and Neo, with the help of parent volunteers and the adult derby league (but mostly Ima and Neo) have spent countless hours making repairs, painting, bringing in furniture, remodeling rooms to create spaces for meetings and practice and activities and birthday parties and a parent waiting room fully equipped with a live feed of the rink, and countless other things. The whole place is fitted and equipped to meet all the needs and specifications of a full fledged Roller Derby league and is fully capable of hosting large scale Derby events. The latest and largest accomplishment came with a new roof!

Best of all, there is always room for newcomers of all ages and experience. If you have even the slightest interest, I highly encourage you go Google it and go check it out. Ima and Neo have extra gear that can be rented for a low cost and always do everything they can to make joining affordable.

One of the State Electric Generator Van's blew down Old Santa Cruz Hwy at what must have been 50 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. If they cant follow the speed limit can you expect them to follow the electric code? Seems like that is more complex than just following the speed limit.
