The italian poboy was great, a really good balance of ingrediants in my opinion and i wasnt left feeling disgustingly full after. The vibe was also bumping.

Racism at its best! Tall guy whose name I've forgotten has been rude towards certain races. At first, I didn't think of it much, but after some time I realized he was only treating other races with disgrace and disgust.

Been seeing the reviews and had a taste for ribs so I decided to venture on in.nahhh.these were probably the worst ribs I've ever had.first it wasn't barbecued but baked.and the meat was barely done.it was so much fat on it and the seasoning was non existent. Not oakland bbq at all.it could have had a cleaner atmosphere too. I think the food is just an add on to the new weird gentrified bar thing they got goin on.wouldn't recommend it.

Bar closes at an unspecified time so you might get up to go to the bathroom and return to your personal belongings moved by the owner and your seat gone. Very rude and unprofessional.

Edit to respond: both bartender and cook said the OWNER was the one who touched my things and moved my seat. They even said the owner was crazy…. Real professional. You don’t touch patrons belongings ever (especially when I left my belongings with my friend, not alone at the bar), seems like something every business owner would know. I spent almost 30 dollars there on nasty food and nasty attitudes.
And as for short sightedness, think of that before you tell a PAYING CUSTOMER to get up because you “said so”

Disgusting and unsanitary. As soon as you step foot inside there’s flies EVERYWHERE. The cashier taking the order is so unprofessional and rude to the workers from DoorDash. He had orders getting cold and unpacked. Eddie (the worker at the cash register) said those orders weren’t customers so those orders didn’t matter as much as the in person orders. Excuse me? ! People paid money for those orders! Shame on you! Shame on you for treating DoorDash workers without respect. For a second I thought maybe this worker is mentally ill because who says stuff like that? !

Adorable BBQ place in west Oakland. A bit grungy and I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while especially now with Horn having huge lines. Awesome lunch spot or happy hour outdoor hang out spot. Tried the Riblet sandwich and the Spicy jalapeños brisket sandwich. Loved the riblet, super messy and very mouth watering delicious would recommend and will try the plates next.

Unfortunately they were sold out of the things we wanted to order. The food we did get was very good. We'll definitely be going back.

I had seen this place on a tv show called check please. Literally went the next day. They were out of ribs and brisket for the plates. Had brisket for a sandwich if you wanted. I ordered a Reuben because they raved about it on the show. There was about three layers of pastrami very thinly sliced, so not a lot of meat. The Italian had more mortadella meat then salami and ham. Overall I will go back because I want to try the ribs and brisket plates. Maybe I can ask for more pastrami on the Reuben.

THE BEST BBQ PLACE IN THE WHOLE CITY. I RECOMMEND THE BBQ RIB PLATE, PULLED PORK SANDWICH AMONG OTHERS, THOSE ARE THE BOMB, OMG THE BEST BBQ FLAVOR I EVER TASTED. VERY NICE SERVICE I INVITE EVERYONE TO TRY THIS PLACE. 100% RECOMMENDED!

My wife and I love this place. It's a bit of a dive, with a welcoming punk atmosphere, many beers on tap, and some of the best bbq in the bay imo. It's not fancy but they smoke their own meat and serve it at a very reasonable price. We get the brisket all the time. So good

Best bbq in the bay. The brisket and ribs especially, they're amazing. Combine that with good beer on tap and a back patio, this place absolutely top notch

Pulled pork brisket po' boy=$14 of BBQ bliss in your mouth. You're gonna eat it and eat it again. If you were down to your last $11.37 you would beg for the $2.63 in spare change outside just to buy this juicey, soft, smokey sandwich of seduction. You might get into grandma's purse just to make that $14 sandwich dream a reality in your mouth. I suggest you do, she'll understand.

SO good! I had the pulled pork, the brisket and the potato salad and it was all so good. The brisket especially blew me away. It had a beautiful bark on it and gorgeous fat cap with flavor that penetrated all the way through. I cleaned my plate and despite being full just kept wanting more. I highly recommend you try for yourself.

Terrible customer service. I stood at the bar 10 minutes while the guy working there never even looked up and it wasn't that he was busy. Then when he finally looked up he had the audacity to tell me u had to step around the bar to where he was standing. Yes, I left him standing there without ordering. Irritating but I must admit they had a very nice outdoor patio and their food/bbq smelled absolutely wonderful. I'm not bitter but I am disappointed with their customer service. Work on that and I'll be back and give you some business and a good review.

This is a Deli, sandwich, and beer spot that plays good music, has friendly servers and indoor and outdoor seating. It's a fun place for groups because there's plenty of room with lots of seats. Enjoy!

I've never been unsatisfied with anything I ordered here the pulled pork and beef brisket are smoked on site the staff are friendly it's a real great place with dank beers on tap and the food is 5 star

Probably the best sandwich spot in Oakland. Real east coast deli style Italian sandwich and their bbq (Mr. Texas is my favorite) is great. Grab a sandwich, play some pinball and have a beer.

Due to the lack of customer service when I go in and the look of confusion, I can tell the majority of the staff and customers do not have any idea of the origin or history behind barbeque!
I guess they think it's Italian and not originally Caribbean.

They used to be pretty close to authentic but lately have been on the healthier side of bbq. I don't go there to eat healthy!
There brisket is starting to look more like roast beef!
There is a difference.
I will stick with my BBQ truck that only comes around once every two weeks.
