My son has been going to Ninja since November of 2021 getting retwists on his locs. She was recommended to me and I wanted to try to support a Black owned business. I’m writing this review today frustrated and angry that my son was charged $155 for a retwist when we have been paying $90 since he started going to her. When I texted my frustration she called back to explain that because she has so many clients she didn’t know that my son didn’t know her prices were raised. This is unprofessional so if you go to her make sure you know what the prices are because she won’t remember you are her client and she won’t tell you if her prices have changed. I will not return because for me this is the last straw for this company. I say this because there were several times I would text her to make an appointment for my son and she didn’t know who he was. I believe that you should know who your clients are and since she doesn’t I Will go somewhere else where our business is appreciated. This is unfortunate because I don’t like to put my people down, but this was wrong. Clients have the right to know what they are being charged up front.

I come here regularly to get my hair braided. High quality service every time. I get braids and twists. I 've had my natural hair braided as well as extensions. Highly recommend it!

Spoke to the owner over the phone.seems to have a bit of an attitude.not sure why but one thing's for certain, I won't waste my time on her ever again.

As long as she is in business, I will Never go to anyone else for braids - not only is she a Queen, but she is truly skilled and talented - I personally am extremely tenderheaded due to an injury from when I was a child- so my whole life whenever I get my hair done I expect to be in excruciating pain, the entire time, but coming here, not only is she Quick and thorough, but I barely flinched? – my entire life that has never happened && she did a beautiful gorgeous job on my hair

The shop is super cute-so many nice hair products to buy, so the next time I’m ready to get my hair done I’ll be buying the hair from here as well!
The gentleman at the cash register is so kind too!

I truly am happy that I came here and as long as they’re open, I will not go anywhere else to get my hair braided?

I had a poor experience. Yes the service was “done” but it felt rushed and as though there was no thoughtfulness in the process.
The lady washed my hair and i had to tell her to go back in because she didn’t do a good enough job with soap still being on my head and my hair still being slightly itchy (ikr who messes up washing hair? I was shocked too)
After she washed my hair she dried it. She didn’t put any product in my hair. No heat protection, no oils or creams it was just DRY. I was shocked and it made me question if she even knew what she was doing in regards to natural hair. To top it all off, I had to call her back to dry the back of my head AGAIN because it wasn’t dry enough.
This might be minor to some but after she dried the hair she immediately hurried me off the seat. She didn’t even offer to pack my hair into a bun or anything which i thought was odd. Instead she rushed me off the chair and said I need to stand up for the next customer. Even though It only took me 2 seconds to tie my hair in a bun (which she didn’t even have the courtesy to do).
The customer service at this establishment needs to be improved.

Tried to go in but didn't get past the front door cause the man at the counter started yelling at me to wear a mask even though it's no longer required. I was at least 16 feet away from him but he wouldn't even answer questions. Was pretty rude, big turn off. I guess they don't need business!

There is a huge variety of wigs…Here’s the kicker…YOU CAN’T TOUCH THEM! What woman buys a wig without touching it!? !? Wonder why we go to the others to buy hair! SMH!

These people are really rude. I just called them to find out about their prices and also make an appointment but the way this person talked to me back, it's unbelievable! When I called back again, she picked then hang up after hearing my voice again

Very unprofessional! Rude and the up-charged
price is not worth it. They ask you to schedule with a $30 Zell for a reason. Never going back to her again.

I had an appointment and I was turned away because I am white. Like other reviews here the owner was rude to me and I don’t ever tolerate harassment so I started to tape him and then I walked out immediately. It’s not ok to discriminate period. People need to start not judging people for their skin color but for how they treat humans. I was even showing them business and was excited to go. I’m disappointed because I would have really supported them and now I know I am not welcomed. I just had surgery and just disappointed by how people treat each other. I have a disability and being harassed is not a pleasant experience but I do stand that I feel this way for all humans. This sort of harassment both ways needs to stop. Being caught in the middle of judgment is going to ruin the planet.

Ninja is quick, your not in there for hours. Most of all my dreads look fresh and she styles it really nice. I can even do them in between appointments.

The services at "Strickly Braids" are not worth the hassle or the price. The owner is completely rude and unprofessional. The braids are done fast, but very sloppily, without consideration or care. With the business model of hustling the customer you will be greatly disappointed in the service and amount of stress caused. Ridiculous!

The lady here do not know how to do hair I would need to get for French braids and paid $115 in my hair only lasts a couple of days she is just all about her money and not care about taking care of her clients and she’s very rude and a nauseous

I really like the set-up: nice, clean, bright. Everything is either hanging or shelved, and the cashier is extremely helpful. I will definitely be back. And recommend to others.

So, I had my appointment time. I showed up on time but the lady who braids hair hadn't finished her last appointment! She asked me to come back in an hour. (I drove all the way from Santa Cruz to San Jose to get my hair braided by her) I was like, "great! What do I do in San Jose for an hour? "
Anyways, when it got time for me to get my hair braided, the lady is awesome! She's fast! She's good and I would recommend her to anybody! Just be sure that you schedule an appointment and and have something to do just in case!
