My dad is doing so great at this facility. My sister and I were very worried about putting him in a memory care facility, but Leslie and her team have gone above and beyond to make it easy for my dad as well as for me and my sister. When we visited my dad, he told us that he prefers to live here than at home because they treat him like a King! He said he feels like a celebrity. While sitting in his room, many of the employees walk by and say, "Hi, Dennis. ". He is so impressed that they know his name. Thank you to the staff! We appreciate all you are doing!

As a professional working in the senior care industry, it is important that the companies I refer to operate at a high level of professionalism and customer service. Such is the case with Summerfield of Stockton.

It comforts me to know that when our caregivers are called in to help with their clients additional needs, the staff at Summerfield always treat them with courtesy and respect.

Of particular note is the Community Relations Director Peggy Massey. Peggy embodies the level of professionalism and caring heart families need when a loved one needs memory care. I always know we can count on her experience in guiding families through what for most is a difficult time in their lives.

We moved my 95-year-old dad into Summerfield of Stockton this past spring. I can’t say enough about the positive experience my Dad and our family are having there! Leslie (the Executive Director) and Peggy (in charge of Marketing and Family Services) are a wonderful team and are a joy to work with. Any questions or concerns I have had have been addressed immediately and a solution has been quickly found. They have created a warm, caring, compassionate, “family” atmosphere where each and every resident is well-cared-for and feels valued and respected.
I go visit my dad almost daily so I have had the opportunity to directly observe the care the residents receive on a regular basis. From the moment you enter the facility, you are greeted warmly at the front desk by Sumera or Amber. There are two full-time nurses, Liz and Hansel, who meticulously keep track of the residents’ medical needs and oversee their medications. They are great about communicating with me about my Dad and I know I can always count on them.

The crucial job of caregiving is handled by an exceptional group of people who are hardworking, kind, accommodating, always ready and willing to help, and full of smiles. I would like to acknowledge them individually, but won’t because there are too many of them to mention by name and I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out! A number of them have been working there for many years, which speaks volumes about Summerfield and its leadership.

The building and outdoor spaces are lovely, very clean and well-maintained. The layout of 4 separate cottages allows for smaller, more intimate living and dining areas that feel like being in someone’s home. My dad enjoys the food there and I love the intimate courtyards and secured expansive green space in back where residents can safely roam or sit and talk with family, friends or with other residents.

Summerfield really excels re: activities for their residents. The wonderful activities directors keep residents active, engaged and entertained with everything from exercising to games to live music/entertainment. The parties that they throw for residents and their families on holidays are something truly special!

What a blessing it was to find a place for my Dad to live where the administration and staff work together so harmoniously and really care about the residents and each other. I want to thank everyone at Summerfield for making my dad and our family feel like part of your extended family. I will always be grateful to you.

I am a professional musician and I have been performing at Summerfield Memory Care for over two years. Summerfield is a well maintained community. Entertaining the residents is an enjoyable experience. The staff keep the residents busy and engaged and the activity room is lively with plenty of dancing and happy faces.

My mom has been very happy and well cared for during her respite stays at Summerfield. It has a home-like atmosphere with small pods of approximately 15 residents so it’s not too overwhelming. The staff is very attentive with nurses responsible for medication‘s and delivering them to patients.
I really like that my mom has many activities to keep her busy during the day. She enjoys her private room and bathroom. I really can’t say enough good things about it, it has been a very pleasant experience. Everyone working there has been so helpful to meet our needs. We will visit again soon!

My father was moved to Summerfield from Fremont for memory care. My father had dementia.
All of the staff at Summerfield was very kind caring and gave excellent care to my father. We loved the facility because it was small, quaint and very home like setting. Each cottage had 15 residents per cottage which made it very comfortable for my father.
Great location, grounds and garden patio area very nice and quite.
Thank you to all the staff at Summerfield who gave the best care for my father.

My family and I want to thank all the staff at Summerfield of Stockton for taking such good care of our Dad during his journey with dementia. We can't complement Summerfield enough for the high quality, loving, professional care and activities they provide residents and the support, flexibility and communication offered to family members. Summerfield care is high quality in every way and is provided in a clean and well maintained physical setting. It manages to feel professional yet comfortable and homey all at the same time. It's a big plus that Summerfield is just the right size - not too big and 'institutional' yet not too small and suffocating or inactive. Everyone - from the front office staff to each person working directly with residents - is caring, skilled, professional and personable. We could not have asked for a better place for Dad to live during a difficult time.

The facilities, staff and activities offered at Summerfield are all top notch. My mother-in-law was very well cared for during the final 3 years of her life at Summerfield after having to move from a nearby assisted living facility to this secured memory care facility. Our family has nothing but praise for Summerfield of Stockton!

I seldom write reviews, but felt compelled to do so in hopes of helping others who are experiencing the emotional pain of watching a loved one suffer from dementia. If you are in this situation now, and reviewing Summerfield, you have come to the right place. My mom has lived at Summerfield for six months now after we realized that simple assisted living was not enough and memory care was needed. While my wife and I were educating ourselves on this horrible disease, we had contacted Summerfield to ask questions and look at options. We were immediately put in contact with Leslie Anderson, the Executive Director who took a considerable amount of time talking with us. She was kind, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable as she gave us important information during a time when we were under considerable stress. She even suggested we look at other facilities during our learning process and to call her back when we were ready and she would help us no matter what we chose. We did our homework, mom toured Summerfield, and within the next couple of days she had moved into her new home. Without Leslie’s professional guidance and sincere kindness we would have been lost and would have struggled for a much longer period of time.

From the very first day, mom has been extremely happy to be living there. She is always clean, physically well kept, likes the food, and has come to love the staff and her caregivers as if they are family. The caregivers pay great attention to her psychological wellbeing. The daily activities and the activity room staff are amazing keeping her engaged and active as much as possible. Her room, and the entire facility, are well maintained and exceptionally clean and safe. They are very vigilant in prevention strategies relative to current health & safety issues. The secure grounds are well maintained and it’s basically a beautiful campus.

We visit two to three times a week and have had the opportunity to get to know most of the staff. Without exception, we leave feeling impressed with the professionalism, the genuine kindness, patience, concern for every resident, and the positive attitudes of every single person working there. Not once have we seen negativeness or conflicts which is truly amazing in today’s world. We have only seen sincere customer service and caring for all of the residents. From my prior life experiences, it is obvious that Summerfield of Stockton has an extremely high level of organizational leadership, work ethic, and professionalism that starts from the top levels with Leslie as the Executive Director, Peggy Massey, Teresa Thompson, Hansel, Sukhi, Joe, and Sumera, who always greet us with a smile. The caregivers and every staff member are truly special people working in an emotionally difficult environment. We thank all of them and feel extremely fortunate for having these special people watching over mom.

One of the most important things about Summerfield is that when our family goes to sleep at night, we know that mom is there safe and well cared for at all times.

Somerford place was truly a blessing to our family. When it became time to move my mom into a facility with a higher level of care, the stress was enormous surrounding this decision. The staff at Somerford place were kind and supportive. They helped us make a quick and relatively painless transition. They went above and beyond to make my mother feel at home from the minute she stepped foot through their door. Leslie and Peggy were a joy to work with. Any concern that I had they were quick to address and worked to find a compromise for all. We received regular updates from the nurses and staff on my mom's condition. As her health declined, I was able to transition my mom right to hospice care while maintaining an environment and people that she had grown to know and love. My husband and I are both physicians and we truly could not recommend this facility with any higher regards. They put so much time and effort into caring for our loved ones when we are no longer able to provide care safely.

When my mother in law was diagnosed I looked for a facility that would have different levels of care so that as the disease progressed she would be able to remain at one location. Somerford has provided an engaging day program when she was independent which included painting, holiday celebrations, games, socialization, and memory focused activities. Somerford is now providing her with the best live in care. Everyone is so friendly and caring. Peggy Massey and Leslie Anderson as well as the receptionists, nurse, and all other staff I've encountered are always so welcoming. Not only have they done everything to help my mother in law adjust but Peggy and Leslie have been so understanding and kind to us as we adjust. I never feel like a burden when calling to ask questions or to check in on how my mother in law is doing. Moving a loved one into a care facility is a difficult decision but we know that she is receiving the best care. She is happy, active, socializing, and well groomed. Somerford has allowed us to step back from the stress of being the primary caregivers so that we can focus on enjoying our time with her. We are so thankful to everyone at Somerford for the great care they are providing my mother in law and the peace of mind they are providing us.

Somerford Place actually has a wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable staff from their Concierge Sumera, their med tech Sukhi, their LVN’s Liz & Hansel, their Marketing Director Peggy and their Executive Director, Lesley. They are geared towards providing excellent care and tailored fit to their residents and their families. Finding a great memory care unit for a special loved one is tough, but Somerford Place can help you provide the best level of care, with their compassionate staff/nurses, you can rest assure that your loved ones will be in great hands. They’re called a 5-star for a reason

My Mother was living in assisted living until I noticed she needed more attention due to her dementia getting worse. I have friends that had their parents at Somerford Place and were quite pleased with the care. After meeting with Peggy and Leslie and careful consideration, I decided to move my Mother into Somerford Place. It was the best decision for my Mother. I noticed a difference in my Mother because she was receiving more attention with prompting and queuing, I really think she felt better about herself since dementia is a frustrating experience. The caregivers and nursing staff are kind and compassionate. My Mother never misses a day in the activity room, they have so much fun. I am glad I made the decision to move my Mother to Somerford Place.

Happy Daughter

From our first meetings until Mom’s last breath, the team at Somerford provided exceptional care for her and was very helpful to us. When I visited, Leslie and Peggy often had some insight or a recent experience with mom to share with me. They know their residents and treat them with respect and friendship. Teresa/Manager was exceptional with face time phone calls using her own phone and sending videos of Mom during Covid. I still have one of these videos and it’s a treasure. The activity staff made life fun for her and the interaction kept her spirits up. When something did arise that needed attention, Leslie stepped right in personally. She didn’t delegate or address it later. It was resolved on the spot. Prior to Covid, I had the pleasure of having lunch with Mom and it was delicious! Mom would beam after Teresa/Beautician cut her hair or gave her a manicure. Her room was always very clean and so was Mom! When Covid arose, the Somerford Team was amazing at handling an unprecedented situation and keeping residents safe. I could cite many, many more examples of the caring, professional team of people who deliver service in one of the most trying of situations life may offer. I miss seeing everyone now that Mom is in Heaven.

Somerford is amazing! The staff is very caring, sweet and professional. My mom was recently a resident and she received excellent care. It is always a hard decision when you have to put your loved one into an assisted living facility, but, Somerford made the transition as smooth as possible. They answered all my questions, had great communication and provided the best possible experience, considering the circumstance. I would highly recommend Somerford for those who need the extra professional care.

I can not say enough about the wonderful care and support Somerford Place, Stockton have provided to our family. Because of a family medical emergency, we urgently needed to find a caring place for my father and everyone at Somerford Place did their utmost to help in the most personal and caring way. Peggy has been a wealth of information and a rock to my mother and myself. Thank you very much for being the angels we needed.

After careful consideration, looking at memory care facilities from Elk Grove to San Jose, we made the decision on Somerford Place as the best place for mom to be at. After talking with Peggy, and then meeting with Leslie, you immediately get the feeling that this group cares and we thought they would do an excellent job in looking after my mom. Now, after a month of her being at Somerford, I can say that they really do a great job and have gone that extra step even with the added Covid factor. My mom enjoys and participates in all the activities, and I have noticed a difference in her since being here. They do a wonderful job at communicating and working with you, even during this stressful time, and Peggy and Teresa have made themselves available to answer questions/requests always in a timely manner. Visiting her in person is now made more difficult with Covid, but we have been able to see/talk to her with their safe outdoor visits and zoom calls and I also get updates and pictures. Overall, our family has been extremely pleased with Somerford Place and give them our highest recommendation.

When my grandpa needed to transition from an assisted living community to a place where memory care services are offered, we were extremely lucky to find him a home at Somerford. I found them on a referral site, and Peggy called me within a day to make sure we had all the information required to move forward. Not once did I ever feel like I was being sold something; rather, the entire experience made me feel as if we were being welcomed into a family.

The care has been outstanding since day one. We always feel my grandpa is a top priority for the staff that works with him. Each staff member goes above and beyond to make him feel useful and relevant. He is very particular about his routine, and the staff gives him the room to maintain his individualism.

Communication is always top priority within the community, especially around the Covid-19 issue. While visiting hasn't been allowed for the safety of everyone, families receive weekly updates. I've even received pictures of my grandpa in the mail as he celebrates certain holidays. Additionally, Somerford has set up Facetime and Zoom calls so families can visit with their loved ones often.

Honestly, I'm so happy with everything Somerford has done for our family.
