Even though Sunrise Assisted Living changed its name, it is the same place. All of the reviews about Sunrise Assisted Living apply to Ivy Park. Please take these negative reviews seriously and do not move there or do not move your family member into "Ivy Park. "
Whether Sunrise changed its name, re-incorporated in another name, changed management corporations, it is the same place.
Unless Ivy Park fires all of its employees, including the mostly incompetent Executive Directors and nurses who rarely last more than two years, you are possibly putting your loved one in danger. The craziness that my mother experienced is unfathomable, egregious, and creepy. From my observations, the staff lacks compassion and understanding of the elderly, especially disabled elderly. Below see my previous review and please look at the Yelp reviews.

Don't move into Sunrise or don't move your loved one into Sunrise. Sunrise of SATAN Monica should shut down. If a resident stays more than two years, they are most likely doomed to get entrapped in Sunrise schemes to make more money or a scheme to throw the resident into the memory care, under the supervision of Candi, the #1 money schemer. The former executive director at Atria told me that Sunrise of Santa Monica is known as doomed. He told me how Sunrise of Santa Monica has a bad reputation.
My mother's hospice nurse told me that dying residents were moving out because of the egregiously negligent care at Sunrise of Santa Monica, including negligence from the nurse. Sunrise will lie to DSS or the Ombudsman if you file a complaint against them. Their lies are so outlandish that no one intelligent person would believe them. Sunrise lied to DSS to say that my mother soiled her clothes. The only time her clothes were soiled was when blood gushed out of her breast before she passed away from breast cancer and she was no longer living at Sunrise. My mother never urinated on herself. That never happened. My mother was obsessed with keeping herself clean. Sunrise also lied to DSS that a staff member walked into mother's room and my mother was disrobed and staff member noticed something wrong with my mother genitals. Sunrise told DSS that the staff member glanced at my mother. If Sunrise noticed that my mother was naked, why didn't someone dress her? If Sunrise noticed something wrong with my mother's genitals? Why didn't they call me? The answer: LIES. Sunrise lies were so off-the-wall crazy. My mother was always dressed and always wore underwear. She never had a problem with her genitals. Also, she had private care. Sunrise will lie to you and to the governing agency so don't bother to get justice if you or your loved one is abused or neglected.
Sunrise, seemingly under the direction of Candi, the memory care supervisor who rules all of Sunrise, seemingly fabricated a physician assessment in order to pressure me to put my mother into memory care so that Sunrise could benefit financially.

Sunrise was fully staffed when my mother moved in. There were very sweet Ioving caregivers, a caring executive director, and good food. I would have never imagined that an assisted living facility could deteriorate into a bottomless pit of ugliness meanness and neglect. There is no oversight of assisted living facilities, such as Sunrise of Santa Monica. DSS and the Ombudsman should be re-evaluated and re-organized or dissolved. DSS and the Ombudsman have no authority to regulate and enforce laws regulating assisted living facilities. They are useless now.

Sunrise Santa Monica - very nice place, friendly staff and management. Met with Judy, Angel, Richard, Candi, Jessica and the rest of the team. Warm, welcoming, knowledgeable and hands on. I’m sure the people or seniors are all happy in their community.

Sunrise of Santa Monica is one of the best facilities in the area. The staff is friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The nurses (Angel and Richard) are experienced and exceptional, providing excellent care to the residents. As someone who knows assisted living, I can say that the staff is well-trained and dedicated to providing top-quality care. The care staff is always available, ensuring residents feel safe and secure at all times. The living spaces are spacious and well-maintained, giving residents a comfortable and homely environment. I had the pleasure of attending their network marketing event and was impressed by the quality of the food, particularly the salmon which was my favorite. In my opionon, this is a great place to consider for your loved ones.

I recently attended the "Taste of Sunrise" event held at the community and was impressed with how happy the care team and residents were. The whole team was very friendly and engaging and the chef provided an array of dishes that were all tasty.

We were very hesitant to ever put our mom in an assisted living. She had also asked us to promise we would never do that. After a series of unfortunate health issues, we transitioned her (temporarily) in to Sunrise of Santa Monica. It was the best decision we've ever made. It has been changed from temporary to permanent. She is finally happy, living in a community that keeps her feeling cared for and safe. She goes to 'movie night' every single night, exercises more than she has in the last five years and her mental health has not been this good for years. It has allowed us to have the relationship we've all wanted to have with her without the burden because she is finally comfortable. All of the staff there are friendly, it's very clean and lovely. I don't have enough good things to say about it. Sunrise Santa Monica, the facility and it's staff, are outstanding.
