Sunset Pacific Transportation, Chino CA

We were an owner operator company hauling for this company. Their brokerage agreement said we would get a rate confirmation on every load. Never received 1 for 22 months even though requested multiple times. Rates change often and don't receive the notification until after they take effect. Then finally get their version of the rate confirmation with a stated rate per mile, a rate change (reduction) took effect 2 days before we picked up and they tried to pay the lower rate and not honor the rate on the rate confirmation. Had to get an attorney involved to get paid. And then they fired us because we held them to their contract.

Very bad facility! Very little space for hwy trucks! And very long they take trucks to doors! (

Work with a great broker (Victoria Ortiz). She is very professional, honest and do what she says she will do for you. She treats me with respect, I wouldn’t work with anyone but Victoria at Sunset Pacific. A great broker to work with.

There is a great group of people running that place victoria goes way beyond great customer service.

Sunset is an excellent company to work with, especially Victoria Ortiz; she is the broker that we work with, she is very respectful, professional, always happy, and she understands how hard our drivers work; she keeps us busy with great loads, I would not feel comfortable recommending anybody in this field except Victoria, she is the person that you need to talk if you want a load. We feel very blessed working with Victoria and all her team.

Been working with Sunset since 2017 and they are the best broker! Cass has always been great to me always helpful and in a good mood. The past 3 years I've been with Victoria and I couldn't imagine working with anyone else she's always there with a load for me when I need her and even answers all my after hours calls and to top it off she's got a great sense of humor. I suggest all drivers looking for a load out of Socal to call Sunset and ask for Victoria.

Been here since 3pm told me load was ready at 11am and I could pick up then I knew that was a lie it’s now almost 9pm and I’m still NOT LOADED! This is crazy but I’ve watched them load and unload trailers and other drivers all day including their own trucks. This will be my last load with them unless I am compensated for detention! THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE!

Bad company. EVA accused my driver of stealing wine bottles and send me a very nasty email instead of calling me to clear things up. I emailed her the bol where shipper wrote about the missing bottles with labels intact. Received no apology, and only paid me 2 hours detention out of 4 hours. Because i did not email her. Now shes mad and took the 2 hours she gave. And claims there is no times on bol! She edit the original!

This was a broker load, it took 2 hours total for loading. The only small complaint I have is they are a bit congested.
I recommend parking on the street & walking back to the docks. Otherwise there is a good chance you will have to backup to the street anyway.
There is a obvious large ramp to walk up into the warehouse where basically shipping is a guy sitting in warehouse at a desk. The guys were laid back and friendly. There is some parking on the street that you probably could park overnight.

Had the exact same issue as Tom Kelly.gave them a load for portland on tuesday, called for a update only to realize it would not move until 5days later. Now they want $500 to return the goods back. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

This is the warning for all owner operators please please please avoid this company. I ignore the other driver’s reviews but now I regret 1000%. It is better to spend a day or 2 to find the load but don’t work for these guy and specially the guy name ANDREW. This guy is rude and he don’t care. I pick up his load and I am completely stick with no response at all. STOP STOP STOP

This has been the absolute worst trucking company I’ve dealt with. Gave them 2 loads last week (Friday) and they sat until middle of this week. One didn’t even leave until Thursday. They won’t give you updates. Act like you are a burden to them when asking for information. Left me on hold for 20 minutes then hung up on me. Couldn’t get me a pod for something that delivered Friday morning. I also sent their president and Vice President a message on LinkedIn with no response. These loads were first loads with new new customers of mine and they have tarnished a reputation of reliable service that I’ve worked hard to build. The worst part is complete lack of care that they have. I haven’t even started taking about the utter mess of a load they tried to deliver to my customer either. Pictures of that to follow.

Attention Carriers! Owner-Operator Drivers. These are conartists who do not pay to their own employees working overtime. They have high turn around of employees as no one wants to stay due to their dishonesty. The carelessness and deception transpires when you book loads from them. Do not rely on the load delivery and pick up information as it may be different from what they presented. You will never get paid as you suppose to just like they do not pay to their employees. Also check credit score and factoring rating before you haul any of their loads!

Money, money and more money. Good shipping company. Nice staff, even the warehouse guys are cool.

5 hours to load and then when I finally get out of there the load is way overweight for cali bridge law. You need to train your forklift drivers how to load a trailer. I pray to god I never have to come back here.

I have been in the industry for over a decade, and i’ve dealt with numerous brokers, and let me be the first to say no one has given me a better service, better organization, better customer service, extremely kind, i work and let me just say LOVE working with Victoria Ortiz, she’s hands down the greatest person you ever want to work with! It’s always great talking/dealing with someone as kind and great as her in this industry knowing how stressful it can be at times.to whom ever that reads this, call Sunset Pacific and ask for Victoria, i assure you that you will be one of the happiest carriers ever to do business with them.

Very good service. We run out of truck seal, can not buy one from anywhere in the store. They kindly shared us their truck seals to cover the urgent issue from another trucker. Thank you Michelle for your kind help!
