Sunset Recycling Center, Highland CA

We went to the one by Food for Less in Highland and were told they closed for the next hour. We went to do other errands only to come back in an hour and we're told they were closed for an hour again. When I complained they decided they were open. They had the scale digital read out faced so you couldn't see it and when I tried to watch it they went really fast so I couldn't see how much each basket weighed. My son signed and they didn't give him a receipt. It seemed like much less money though compared to the same amount of bottles and cans we took in last time, I'm sure they are stealing. Our previous experience was much better than today 9/19.

I went there with 3 large bags of plastic bottles which it took me a month and a half to accumulate and this place handed $7.51. So unless you enjoy being ripped off my advice, stay far far away from this place

I went Saturday whit the guy gerson is his name he help w me bottles and he give the best price in the tonw i go back for surr whit him best experience on this place thank u bro

I go there very often they are very friendly they also treat me with a lot of respect they always give me a helping hand and they are honest and give the honest amount of money

I went today after 5 and the guys attended me, they were very kind and they paid me very well for my recycling. Very good experience!

I went yesterday and they give good service they have handsanityzer for all customer and keep the clean and good prices i like this place?

Agree something is up with scale which is not in our view and the payout just don't add up also never received any kind of receipt showing how much was turned in or anything as some places do add a tax.
I turned in same amount of cans and bottles and yes by same amount I know this and they were accurate because only cans we had were from 12 pks and bottles were Gatorade and water bottle s juice bottles which we always buy 2 of we literally separated Everything in half I got paid $18 when I took same over to ️ place on 9th and waterman I we got paid $28.75
Replying to owner, please have the benefit of a doubt and go check your scales, double check rates your paying are updated or supervise your employees and see if they are doing things right, after all it is affecting the reputation of your business.

This company or likely its employees steal galore from people. Wrong weights entirely, Never again. Been to 2 different locations, including this one and all the same. Lessons learned. Can't really fight it after it's been weighed and tossed in the back unfortunately, especially because it's all manual, reciepts and all. Employees are raking it in

Confirmed! This facility is stealing from people's recycling money. I did read its reviews before coming here, so i admit i am at fault here! I've should've listened to the reviews posted. But i wanted to give them the reason of the doubt. Well im here now confirming other's poor reviews. First of all their plastic baskets are Garbage! They're literally falling apart. And at the time of weigh-in i noticed they didnt have a display of the scale's weight marker for costumers to see, i only got paid $78 for a truckload. Last time i come here! That's for sure!

Took several bags in and got half of what I should have. Confirmed this by going to another place the same day with the same amount of bags. Either the worker is short changing you and pocketing the difference or the owner altered the scale to pay you less. Whichever it is, go somewhere else.

Update: See the reply from the owner. Why couldn't I have the same amount of bags? Two full truck loads due to many places being closed for awhile for COVID. One at your place for half the amount. Multiple reviews that claim the same thing. Maybe instead of blaming the customers you should fix the problem. Everyone stay away, looks like the owner is in on it!

Goku and the staff are very nice friendly people they gave me a good price on all my cans and bottles I had a problem with another sunset but goku helped me more then anything thanks

I went with my whole truck full of bags, I filled 9 1/2 containers of their to the rim. I even left them shirt containers at a point. And your going to cash me out with $76 & some change? Yeah right! I should of listened to the reviews, but instead I gave them the benefit of the doubt because their in my community. NEVER AGAIN! One worker was very helpful. But you guys are for sure robbing your customers!

Went this morning with one load of cans, bottles and glass. I had a feeling we got less than we should. NO RECEIPT. I have never received so little for my recycling.

Later the same day went to Yucaipa with another load to another company and got twice the amount!
(Took my recycling from my other household to the place I typically frequent).

I will NEVER go back here and will be telling everyone not to go here for recycling.
I think the employee is pocketing money.

Why is it the responsibility of the customer to ask for receipts, check the weights, do our own calculations, double check if its fair, and then what? Argue with the employee till we get paid fairly.

Stop blaming the consumer and run an honest business.

Took in 92 lbs of cans and the kid tried to give me 76 dollars at 165 a lb.the kid handing out the money is a thief. I will never go back

I've weighed my recyables before taking them in, and I know how much I should have received and it's usually under the amount I should have received.
Sometimes they don't take glass, and they have closed up to 15 minutes early on a few times.they also don't give rec

Came here with 3,90gallon trash bags filled with crushed cans an i only received $82, all they do is smoke weed an take your money, i won't recommend this place.
