This is the best hotel on The Strip. Staff is amazing. And the The Terrace is awesome. Highly recommend.

Business stay. The staff was very accommodating. Ask for a room with a view, and the sunrise will sooth every part of the soul. My room was bright and quiet, which was interesting because the hotel is on Sunset strip. My room was not facing the strip, but as I stated, the staff was accommodating. The decor was art deco. Any request was met with a smile and an informative answer. I did have lunch there with a co-worker. I ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad with an Arnold Palmer. The salad was excellent, and the service was superb. Oh, my meal in total was $35.28. ($22 & 10) I had no problem with my bill or the tasty salad. There was plenty of places outside of the hotel to eat. You are truly on Sunset Strip, there is plenty of everything to satisfy your tastes and wallet.

This place is a literal blast from the past. The refurbish done in the late 2010's are on point. The rooms are relatively tight, as are the super European elevators (you can't get more than 4 people in one, and that's if you know each other very well) but they are really well furnished and the beds are super comfy.

The pool has "beds" that are on the floor, but they are comfy. Service is just as accommodating pool side as it is throughout the entire hotel.

Lunch brought me a ceasar salad with more croutons than I've seen in my life, but the grilled chicken add-on was absolutely perfect. Dinner at The Tower Bar brought nothing but the best. I had blackened tuna, cooked rare, with the seasonal veg and fries. One of the people in our party ordered the filet and said it was the best steak she's ever had. Our server, Anthony, rolled with our punches and had the perfect answer to every question.

Stay for the amazing views, the great location (it's right across the street from The Comedy Store), and the incredible history.

It's a historical building. On the Sunset Strip. I'm a local and decided to check it out. It has the old Hollywood vibe thing going on.

Always loved but much worse since they sold it. Rooms a little faded and tatty and this time the outside area is closed so why bother as that the reason you come to LA. And they didn’t tell us ahead of time and no discount. Shoddy attitude about it too. Been staying here for years. Not again. Without an open terrace bar it’s not worth staying here.

I used to stay here and would never stay again the people are so unhelpful. Service and amenities are not good.

We visited as it was a very Instagrammable location. Very nice view from the terrace over LA. We even saw a Celeb. Anyway more to the point, the food was delicious and service was great too! Surprisingly affordable for food. Looked like it could get quite busy inside also!

The Sunset Tower Hotel represents iconic art deco, Old Hollywood glamor. It was a real treat to stay a few days. The food was wonderful. I love they restored and continue to maintain this historical hotel to it's glory.

Writing a review about The Sunset Tower is not an easy task.
Because this is not an ordinary luxury hotel, but more a very elegant home away from home.
Despite its legendary history, this place always makes you feel at ease and welcome.
I’ve stayed in many posh hotels, but never felt so good and relaxed like at Sunset Tower.
And if u think that people like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor - just to name a few of the endless stars who slept here - this is quite impressive.
We stayed in a lovely deluxe room, with terrific window from floor to ceiling overlooking both Sunset Strip and Downtown
Bed was super comfy, bathroom large with window and immense shower and or course the iconic wallpaper by Donal Robertson.
Everyone from front desk, waiters, ladies who clean your room, valet is professional but at the same time friendly, warm and smiley.
Every request we made was successfully and quicky fullfilled.
We were welcomed with a great bottle of wine when we arrived and everyday received a lovely gift (chocolate, cookies, candles).
Sunset Tower Bar and restaurant are after almost 100 years since their opening THE PLACE TO BE especially during Oscar week.
We had dinner next to Stevie Wonder, Cindy Crawford, Dua Lipa and many other celebrities I can’t even remember.
Let me thank one special person who made our stay really unforgettable: Ms Barbara Cameron - director of food and beverage - and her staff.
Barbara is a real gem and that person who makes the difference: generous, sincere, helpful, warm but always professional and on point.
Ok now I have to name one thing they should improve: face cream is missing and in general beauty products - which are nevertheless good - should come from a luxury brand like Hermès or similia.
To cut a long story short: if you go to LA choose Sunset Tower Hotel and they will make you feel like a celebrity.
Can’t wait to be back

This is our favorite hotel of all time! It's got a great location right in West Hollywood and is a block away from Chateau Marmont and the famous q Store. Plenty of restaurants, entertainment, and a Rite Aid within walking disrance. Vibrant nightlift snd clubs. The building is a gorgeous art deco, almost 100 years old, and beautifully restored/remodeled with modern bathrooms while still keeping a q! Ltrue Old Hollywood vibe. This place rocks. The customer Service is exception and we would return again just because the treatment of guests is nothing short of amazing: from housekeeping to the desk staff to the valets. Everyone made you feel special and welcome and like a friend.

We particularly apprecuated Anthony, Stephanie, and Ness at the front desk -are all so spectacular, helpful, and charming. Also, Megan at the valet station was warm and personable and so efficient.

Designed in 1929 by architect Leland A. Bryant, opened in 1931, the Sunset Tower is considered one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the Los Angeles area.

Originally operated as a luxury apartment hotel, it was one of the first high-rise reinforced concrete buildings in California. When it was completed in August 1931 at a cost of $750,000, the Los Angeles Times reported: "What is described to be the tallest apartment-house in Los Angeles County, rising 15 stories or 195 feet, was completed last week at Kings Road and Sunset Boulevard by W. I. Moffett, general contractor, for E. M. Fleming, owner. "

John Wayne, Howard Hughes, Frank Sinatra, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Caine, Quincy Jones, Roger Moore, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Billie Burke, Joseph Schenck, Paulette Goddard, Zasu Pitts, George Stevens, Preston Sturges, and Carol Kane all lived there.
