The sushi here is almost mind blowingly good. Keep coming again & again to try new dishes, & every time we’re left amazed. Especially recommend the combo platters. Service is also very friendly & knowledgeable, and fast

Little local sushi spot. Great service. I love sitting outside during sunset/early evening for dinner. Highly recommend their 3 item combo- comes with miso soup, salad, rice & 3 sushi rolls for only $25.it's a lot of delicious food.

The Ankimo (monkfish liver) is a great try, though it was a small portion. The Yellowtail Collar was fantastic, a must. The Black Cod Saikyo-yaki was a little sweet, but expected from the miso marinade. The Baked Green Mussels were good, too, a little fatty tasting, so use the lemon, you only get two mussels. The house dressing for the green salad was exceptional, compared to other Japanese restaurants. The Ginger Pumpkin Carrot Soup was very tasty, but the seafood choice you get is not infused in the soup, though the snow crab itself was good. The Snow Crab Garlic Basil Roll was interesting, the flavors hit you at separate times. The Chirashi was decent, though the Salmon roe was salty, great Spicy Tuna, though. Also, they offer sake flights (we drank most of it before the photo was taken), which is on a separate menu. There are three options, we went with A and B. Great choices.

While this place has quality sushi I strongly disagree that this people are saying that is “bargain” or “good value” sushi… $9 for two pieces of nigiri sushi? The prices are very high end for the casual setting this spot provides. Went with three friends and left each paying $80 each.

It’s a good spot owned by friendly Japanese owners that provide high quality but definitely some of the more expensive sushi around.

This hole in the wall sushi restaurant run by some me true sushi old timer chefs has the best tasting fish I have had. Their salmon sampler plate is just simply incredible as is the king salmon. Plenty of other dishes are just as amazing! A little pricey but well worth it.

The sushi and rolls at Sushi Beluga are of very good quality, especially considering the balance between quality and price. As a big sushi lover, I have been to many sushi restaurants in Los Angeles, and I can confidently say that the fish quality at Sushi Beluga is on par, if not better, than other places, and the prices are noticeably lower. The service is good.

The main drawback is the old, outdated, cramped space, either indoors or a couple of tables in the parking lot. However, if you simply want to enjoy the fish, you can overlook this inconvenience.

One of the most authentic sushi places we’ve been to in a while. This place is like a speakeasy/hidden treasure. Highly recommend the aburi nigiri (salmon & torro).

This is my "go to" for sushi. I hesitate to write a review because I'd prefer to keep this place under the radar, but that wouldn't be fair to the owners! The freshest fish around at a price that won't break the bank. I can't recommend it enough. I like a value and the sushi combos are a great value. Tons of delicious fresh fish!

This a great hole in the wall sushi spot in playa del Rey! The restaurant itself is pretty small and cozy, but they also offer outdoor dining which is great during the summertime (they also have heaters). The fish quality is top notch and their prices are very reasonable compared to other sushi spots in LA. I’m so happy we discovered this place. We ordered the yellowtail jalapeño, spicy tuna crispy rice, garlic edamame (spicy), and a sushi boat for 4 people. We devoured everything, it was all delicious! The sushi boat called out certain fish, but I’m pretty sure they swapped out things for what they had fresh which we didn’t mind at all. The staff is very friendly and authentic. Definitely feels like a neighborhood joint!

My new favorite sushi spot in the Playa Del Rey area. Have tried several of the menu items and haven’t had a bad experience yet. The truffle hand rolls are so good! Service is great and gave some great recommendations. Will be coming back, highly recommend 10/10. The service can’t be beat too, reason why I’m writing this and making the effort!

Holy smokes the miso albacore roll was one of the best specialty sushi rolls I ever had! Possibly the best!
