Sushi In the Raw reviews
18Very friendly and helpful staff, very tasty miso and edamame, excellent fresh sushi with fantastic “Susan sauce” and great selection of drinks. Very happy with our first visit here, will definitely be back again, and very much looking forward to using the outside patio when spring/summer is here!
Good service, the food was great and loved all the fun options on the menu. The spoons were great, the edamame and nigiri was yummy and the rolls were great too! Definitely will be coming back soon
This last visit I wasn't impressed at all! To be honest with y'all I'm truly disappointed! My Sushi experience at "Sushi In The Raw" for the past eleven years had been superb.supreme.the very best!
The restaurant has been under new ownership for a while now and chefs aren't the same. Sorry to say it guys but the only good thing they kept is the name, "Sushi In The Raw" has downgraded from "Out of this world" to less than average. To just another Sushi joint.
The best sushi EVER! I drive from Sacramento to this place because it's that delicious Definitely my favorite restaurant!
Hard to get a table so call and book:)
It’s SUPER GOOD. Quality, exquisite flavors, we also had unfiltered craft sake which was very goood too.
What a cute spot (which explains why you have to make reservations days in advance - don't bother showing up without one)! The ambiance is great - the patio especially! We tried a few specialty rolls and the edamame, all of which tasted fresh and delicious!
The rolls were terrible. Rice was certainly not fresh. Trying to be innovative, the only thing they have achieved is a mixture of strange and unappetizing flavors and textures. And the roll called smiling Buddha should be banned. Inedible.
Sushi was ok. Not the freshest I have had. Definitely had better. Poor service. Won’t be back.
Rude owner and waitstaff sub par. Better and fresher sushi else where. Would give -stars if able
The best sushi I have ever eaten! It’s even better than some sushi I ate while I’m Japan. Everything they serve is superb and the staff is so friendly. It’s our favorite restaurant, hands down.
This is not your usual sushi joint. They don't serve any large tuna fish. It's endangered and "full of heavy metals". What they do serve is the freshest fish available anywhere unless you caught it yourself. Go without expectations and enjoy a thoroughly surprising evening.
Honestly, one of the finest sushi preparations one could hope to receive. Really very excellent.
Looking forward to the next chance to have a reservation at Sushi in the Raw.
My mouth is soooo hapy right now. What creative rolls and perfectly paired flavors. Every bite melted in my mouth.
Definitely not the best sushi. IMO, nourish is better, rolls have more umami. Maybe this is more authentic. Idk. Overcooked edamame. Still doing weird things like sit and eat outside. We are not in a pandemic or emergency anymore. Facts. Anyway, the staff of young women are nice and making sure you have what you need or want. They are hard working.
Continues to be our favorite Sushi restaurant.
The Quality is top notch along with the staff. The owner Continues to to amaze us with them Gem of a restaurant.
Can you believe that the best sushi I’ve ever had is in Nevada city? Well maybe not the best sushi but equal to any top tier sushi I’ve ever had, and I live and travel a lot for sushi! It’s as good as the best of the best in LA, New York, and even Hawaii. (BTW, as an aside, if you’ve never eaten sushi in Hawaii, you’ve never eaten sushi.) But this chef is the top. Highly recommended.
Birthday dinner for 5 was a huge success! Always great food. Exceptional service never disappoints. Cozy outdoor dining space is much appreciated.
The outside dining area is quaint and cosy. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly young lady, who immediately made us feel comfortable. Reading the menu on our phones was a bit painful but once we got through that we had an exceptional evening. Our server was delightful. She took the time to explain the dishes and the side sauces. She was charming, friendly, knowledgeable and fun.
The food was absolutely delicious, all in all a spectacular evening. Thank you
