Sushi Note reviews
16Excellent sushi, the chef feels a little distanced tho. Service can be improved by a little!
Excellent Sushi place. Quality and cut were top notch. Service was excellent. Price point very reasonable.
Wow, what an amazing meal. This place is easily one Michelin star. The head chef was an absolute gem, super nice and very down to earth. The SUSHI RICE WAS AMAZING. All high end sushi restaurants serve the same fish, it’s the rice that separates the masters from the fakes. The rice here is 10 out of 10. Our service at the end of the night was amazingly warm and comforting (at the end of the night)
This place is amazing. There is no comparison to the sushi dishes they design, and the people that work there are top-notch in their knowledge AMF their ability to be personable with every table.
It's a little place with a big attitude.
If you want standard sushi.forget it
Long wine list but limited in real choice. It and the menu r designed to direct you in one direction what you should think is good. Over the top attention but meant to turn the table. Better bang for your buck elsewhere.
My girlfriend loves fresh fish. She flies down from GA to CA frequently to have our Omakase dinner here (and see me on the side) because we believe this is the freshest fish we’ve ever tasted. I even asked her to be my girlfriend at this restaurant back last year. Head chef prepares all the sushi from hand with excellent attention to detail and the wasabi was EXCELLENT. Highly recommend and will come back here again for the half note/full note. Mr Saito San (head chef) banzai!
Great customer service. Chef and sommelier are fantastic. You’ll enjoy memorable experience.
Incredible sushi experience. We ordered the Half Note and followed it with torotaku handroll and yuzu gelato. Exceptional food and great service. The sommelier was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent omakase at an affordable price, which is 140 a person. You can get the more affordable 70/p, but I definitely recommend splurging on the higher tier. The service is top-notch and it's hard not to feel special when each piece is placed right in front of you. Plus they start you off with a lovely sample of wine, ours a delicious sparkling rose. While the miso soup, edamame, and salmon included in the course is delectable, it does feel a bit out of place in an omakase meal. Plus there was a bit too much wasabi for some of the items, overwhelming the flavor of the fish. However, with an excellent wine list and sommeliers to help pair them to your sushi, it's easy to have an enchanting evening in a wonderful environment without spending over 200 a head. Recommended for a date night.
Had the Whole Note - Omakase. Great food (worth the price tag) and great ambience for date night. Appreciated the complimentary sparking wine upon seating
However, surprised none of the reviews mentioned service which felt very rushed and a bit callous.
On multiple occasions, the next course was served while we were still eating; pressuring us to eat faster. The wait staff were also walking up to the table every two minutes to peer over and making quick u-turns which was quite distracting.
Looking at the timestamps of my photos, we were served the entire meal in one hour which is an extremely short amount of time for an 8 course tasting menu. We were also served the bill while we were eating the dessert course.
Overall - although the food was great, the service was lacking and really tainted the experience
The best sushi experience I’ve ever had. Had Omakase and sat in front of Fuyuko-San who created works of art right in front of our eyes. She was a pleasure to talk to throughout the night and made my first Omakase experience the benchmark. Wine was excellent, sommeliers and staff are all friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Definitely going back.
First of all, get the Black Cod, it was amazing! Then get anything else you want on the menu, it will be fantastic! My daughter and I do a lot of daddy/daughter sushi nights and this night at Sushi Note is the best meal we've ever had. We went back for additional plates for a few items. We didn't get wine, but it looks like they have an excellent selection. We loved everything we were served. The prices we're good for the high quality of sushi. I can't recommend this place enough. We're coming back when we visit LA again.
I was looking for an exceptional dining experience to make up for a pandemics worth of missed date nights. A tall order and Sushi Note delivered! My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered the Whole Note (omakase) with wine pairing. Everything was so delicious and the service was excellent.
We have an animal hater restaurant in the Neighborhood.
We were refused service in a horrible way because of our dog. While the waitress was ready to sit as on a side walk table, she was caled back by a manager just to send her back and apologize and to say that they just run out of the ingredients. Shameful. We ate in a restaurant near by. Walking back home we noticed the same table offered to us was occupied. Frankly they had ingredients. I will never go to that place with or without my dog
Enjoyed a lovely dinner at their outdoor seating space. Service was excellent, cordial, and attentive. I enjoyed the Half Note sushi sampler, which came with a miso soup, edamame, 6 pieces of nigiri, and a sushi roll. All of the nigiri was well crafted and delicious. The drink selection was excellent as well, I went with an order of the hot sake they had available, but their cold sake and wine menu was extensive.
Overall, I would gladly go back to Sushi Note. Great spot for a fancy date night.
Excellent sushi. Some of the best I've had. Highly recommend the Full Note. Based on the quality of the food the price was more than reasonable. Plan to come back again soon.
