Service was really not up to par, took a while to get our food though they apologised. Took forever to bring the bill after we were done. Food was good though.

My favorite sushi place by far, we’re regulars. Their food is absolutely delicious! Most of the staff is very friendly including the owner, however Vivian is another story.
Vivian is never friendly, never smiles & has absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS whatsoever. I always hope I never get her as a waiter however if I do, it’s not a big deal. Today however, she tipped the scale. We walk in & she asked how many to our party, I responded & asked if by any chance, they had a booth available? Someone had just left from a booth & they were cleaning the table. She raised her voice & said if I wanted a booth, I would have to wait longer & wait outside. I asked if she knew about how long the wait would be because I obviously was willing to wait if the wait was not too long. She immediately got an attitude. Said they didn’t have a booth & if I wanted one, I had to wait a long time. I advise her that there was no need for the attitude, it was just a question. She continued to raise her voice & started saying that section was closed (no sign was posted as they normally do when the section is closed, so how was I supposed to know that?) I told her it was fine she didn’t have to get mad over a simple question but she continued to rant & ignored me as if I was invisible. I was quite shocked when instead of advising how long the wait would be, she just sat the next party after us, came back & sat the party after them. She completely ignored me. I was a little embarrassed because the party that she sat after us looked at us and asked if we wanted to take their table. Of course I said no. As you can tell even other customers notice the big deal Vivan made. It was so uncalled for. I had to ask for the assistance of another waiter in order to be seated. If I had not been craving sushi for a whole week, I would’ve walked out however I was not going to let Vivian get the best of me.
This is not the attitude to have in a customer service restaurant environment. I did leave a note for the owner to call me. Hopefully she does.

Thank you Angie for your response & addressing the issue! I have updated the stars because it’s not fair to your restaurant that I gave you just one star based on Vivians attitude. Thank you again for acknowledging, addressing and responding to todays experience.

Terrible customer service, we found a hair in the chicken udon and called to complain. They acted like we did something wrong and yelled at us for waiting 45 minutes to call since the time we picked up the food, when we had waited that long for them to prepare the food (after they said it would be 20 minutes). We expected a full refund or at least a credit and an apologetic attitude. We had to bring the food to show the manager just to get a partial refund, and she was very rude and unprofessional. Very disappointed. Also saw the manager being rude to another couple who said they had a bad sushi roll.

Well I don't think that is happening for 2 reasons. 1 the lady that cleans the table was flirting with my husband and the worst part she kept getting close to our table with her rug smelling like fabuloso, it was really nasty to smell fabuloso while eating sushi!

Delicious sushi. I only wish the service be a little faster for takeout but overall the sushi is worth the wait.

Service is great, the food is great, and $. 99 draft beer. How can you go wrong? Highly recommend. As far as the one and two stars that were given I really don't get it, but to each their own.

Decent but not great, service was just ok, and the sushi chef's are all Hispanic, so takes away a little from the experience.

The service has gone down hill immensely since Jin left. We used to LOVE coming in, quite regularly actually, but not anymore. The food quality seems to be lacking lately as well. So sad.

Food was very very good. Server was nice, and was helpful. The albacore was some of the best I have ever had. The quail egg shooters were good, a little spicey but very nice. Muscles were nice, but wasn't the star of the show. Best thing was the VIP Tuna and the prices were really nice. I will be coming back.

Two words TAPE WORMS

If you don't believe me ask the health inspector who sat behind us, while he finished up his report. Pretty sad that he recommends the kitchen be burnt down AND without a doubt believes the numerous complaints of tape worms. Staff was very rude and unhelpful, manager who was on break and wouldn't be back until 6pm (it was 4pm, who takes that long of a break?) refused to come in a resolve the problem. You just lost a lot of business.

Very good food, and a fairly good atmosphere. The waitress was very knowlegknowle and helpful. Giveing it 4 stars for it's amazing qualities but also we felt that the rest of the staff didn't communicate well and we had to ask for things multiple times. But overall the experience was pretty good. I will probably go back again if I'm on that side of town!:)

Was so disappointed when I showed up with my sister to eat and we got turned away. They said because of the fact that there was only 1 sushi chef. What a poor excuse.

I’m glad my family and I stopped by this place. We have our favorite sushi place but decided to try a new one. The Okuku Roll was my favorite!

Highly satisfied! Chris makes what you like even thou its not on the menu and makes great combinations as you like! Great presentation all times I've been there. Totally recommended!

Tried this place out because yardhouse was packed! This is my new favorite sushi joint. You can order any of the special rolls when you do AYCE. The menu is extensive and the service is quick and courteous. My favorite was the philly and tsunami rolls.

Friendly vibe, clean place, but the staff is all over the place. They do have allot of choices, so that's a plus.

The food was very good and reasonable price! The only bad thing I have to say is that the girl in the front was very rude and took forever to acknowledge us when we arrived!

My husband and I had the all you can eat and sat at the sushi bar. First off, the selection was off the charts incredible. Mark was our chef and he was so fast and courteous. He kept checking on how we liked everything and made very polite conversation. Best AYCE experience I've had in Riverside. I will definitely be reccomending Okoku to my friends.

Sushi is okay but the service is very harsh. Staff will ask you if everything is okay? And when you ask them to bring you something. Napkins, sauce etc.they will completely forget. Asked for the check 2 times and never got it after 15 minutes both times I went. So I willingly went up to the register myself to have to pay. Worst part was both times weren't that busy. Has great potential.
