Sushi Yuzu reviews
18You walk in to a wood clad room with happy people everywhere. The lighting is dim and the ceiling is paneled with soundproofing creating perfect ambience. You are a connoisseur of sushi and have some trepidation when you see American staples such as hamachi crudo and seared albacore with crispy onion. But you are about to find out this place can go deep, just as deep as some hole in the wall in Tokyo. The uni is divine. The mackerel and pickle is perfect. The saikyo-yake with mushroom is to die for. You drink your fill and stare deeply into the eyes of your colleague across from you. There is light in a dark world. Highly recommended.
Super awesome neighborhood spot. Everything was excellent. Eggplant with scallop/shrimp was on another level
This is one of the best Sushi places I’ve been to in the US. I’m hella picky after living in Japan and this place is legit. Everything was top notch.
Amazing quality and great food. Always fresh!
The staff is friendly, food can get a little pricey though
The hostess was unprofessional & rude to us. I felt that I was being questioned by an elementary teacher. I guess service goes in history books. He approached us and there was so many tables open and he showed us a long waitlist and told us there is an hours wait. He denied that we had called and they had said 30 min wait. After all we got a table in 15 min. They had said wait time would be over an hour. If you expect service and ethics do not go there. We used to go there for years and surely the food is not the same and do not expect service. I guess when a restaurant becomes way to popular it starts shrinking down like everything else. I forgot to mention that the waitress took wrong order but we did not send it back and left it at the table and of course paid for what we had not ordered. When there is no respect the food experience would never be good. I give 0 to their management.
Absolute horrible service. Waited almost two hours looking at empty tables that were supposedly reserved (but they don’t take reservations). Rude hostess. They sit regular guests regardless of how long the new ones have been waiting.
I’ve been to some of the best sushi spots in the city and this is my favorite of all of them. Deep fried yellowtail collar is irresistible and the sushi is always fresh and served at the perfect temperature. Chefs are great ppl too! Gets busy so plan accordingly
High end sushi. Expect high end pricing.
Very good service. Always a wait to get a table.
The sushi was good! But the price was far too much for the entire experience. We had a table of five and we each ordered sashimi to start and one roll each to follow. The sashimi came out on time. After that they brought one roll out every 10-15 minutes. The final roll came out over an hour after it was ordered. At some point an additional roll had been ordered, but we had to cancel that one after waiting so long.
The best sushi in NoHo. Simply outstanding. Got the Belly sampler, Lemon roll, and whole squid. As I finished my meal my only thought is that I couldn’t wait to come back.
Excellent food. It was a Thursday and there was a little wait for a table, but it was totally worth the wait. Very, very good!
The best Sushi Ever.i tried almost everything and the matcha green tea constantly flowing was just perfect
Ordered at 9: 20 after waiting 5 min to get even get the attention of the host it’s 10: 10 still still waiting on a 20 min eta. I not that busy I watched a couple come after me sit down eat and now are leaving they seems to enjoy their food.
The food here is usually good they forgot condiments and took so long I requested my tip back. Something required in advance and far from earned they then forget to call me over and over until I was promised a refund if I found the credit card transaction… I did then they all of a sudden remembered the incident and said it was an apology not a refund.
$50 worth of incomplete sushi and I still got stuck tipping the people who didn’t even care to check my order. Even the best fish impropriety prepared is worthless.
Tried this spot in the past with a friend and I am hooked since then. I enjoy the great ambience and flavorful food and beverages. Kudos.
The food was awesome! We had a long wait. We had a table right on the curb side of the side walk, and they let cars park right up against the tables. That was so disappointing. No one from the restaurant would tell those idiots to move their car. When the passenger got out, their door hit our table. I will not go back.
Sushi Yuzu is a great little sushi spot I've been frequenting for years now. The sushi is always fresh, and everything tastes delicious. The restaurant is small, but I like that about the place, it makes it feel more intimate. The vicinity is nice as well. It's situated within Toluca Lake and surrounded by small bars, restaurants and stores. The restaurant also has been up to par with COVID-19 protocols. The tables are spaced out, heaters are provided, and they maintain a certain amount of people per table. The only reason I knocked out one star is because their service isn't so great at times. It takes a while for your server to come check on you or get you what you requested. Other than that, it's a nice place to check out.
Great place to go for sushi as well as for small plate items. Their food is always A+! However, last few times we got take-outs from this place, I found something missing from my order once I unpacked my order when I got home. I didn't want to bother calling or going back to get it so I just ate my food as is but I would advise kinda going through the bag to make sure you got your order complete before leaving the premise.
By far the best sushi in Los Angeles, fresh, clean fish with great service. Their sister location is just as good! Love love love sushi yuzu!
