Very small place with a very small menu.come here if you know what you like and are looking for basic rolls and basic nigiri.do not come here if you are expecting a fancy experience or a ton of options.not good for large parties, very good for small parties.

My favorite sushi in the city. Don't miss the mussel appetizers, too - comforting and creative combinations.

Also, this is the best parklet in the city - good atmosphere and sounds control between tables/street and very well heated and comfortable, even on chilly San Francisco nights.

This is a pretty small store with not much indoor seating and only a bit more outdoor seating. The service is good though. You can order lots of sushi rolls and nigiri, etc, which are all quite solid. The baked muscles were really good.

Prices pretty standard for SF so don't come frugal if you're also a big eater. Enjoy!

This place used to serve generously portioned nigiri sushi and maki rolls and seriously delicious sushi. This restaurant was staple for me even with the price increase by 30-35% after the new owner took over. I’ve been a devoted customer for 15 years. However some months ago this year, they started skimping on the size of the sushi - The fish on top of the Negri sushi is 30% smaller than it used to be, in the maki rolls are 40% smaller than it used to be. Earlier this year, we left feeling full after spending $110 for 2 people, and today we left hungry after spending $130 for 2.
You have lost a devoted customer with your significant portion size reduction, and I will not be coming back!

It was awesome. The place is tiny. The sushi is hand made by the owner.this is how it has always been. I guess if you have been doing this for 30 years and treat each piece as a personal masterpiece.then it will be good.

We’ve been coming here for years. They are like family and the sushi is the best in San Francisco. Try the baked bass, spicy scallop, Hawaiian #2 - you won’t be disappointed in both quality of sushi and the friendly fun staff.

Good sushi at reasonable prices for the city.

The nigiri was my favorite, it almost made me feel like I was eating at a nice omakase. The cheaper maki sushi rolls are also very clean and fresh. I wanted to like the specialty rolls as I love eel and avocado, but at $13.50, they were just okay and not quite worth it. I'd prefer the simpler maki rolls, nigiri, and sashimi.

The service was a bit of a hit or miss. The servers are very nice and close with locals, but I was left waiting at times outside for help, and some sushi came flying out while others took almost 20 minutes. I think it's a much more enjoyable experience inside where you can watch the chefs hand-make your sushi. Still, I'd come again - it's well located and won't break the bank.

At first I was hesitant but my husband insisted, so we were seated. Really the freshest sushi I have ever tried, mouthwatering rolls. A wee bit on the pricier side (compared to NY sushi). The staff was attentive. The space not big at all. Seating outside is heated.

WOW. This is my favorite sushi place in whole SF. The sushi is amazing and the owners and chefs are such warm and kind people. Love it so much!

I really hope my experience was just an off night, but the salmon nigiri here was horrendous and I had to spit it out. The fish was tough and almost crunchy like eating cartilage, and it had a fishy old smell. The mango salmon roll was delicious, sweet, and tender in comparison so I am just hoping the salmon nigiri was a mistake - but a terrible mistake for my first experience here. That salmon nigiri was legitimately worse than grocery store sushi which was a real shocker to me. My friends also had a piece of salmon nigiri in their orders and said the same thing, but ate it anyway.

A San Francisco Classic. Thank God they survived the pandemic. If you've never been you must go.

My favourite Sushi in the world! Nothing else I've had in SF comes close. Highly recommend the seaweed salad, spicy mango salmon roll, and Hawaiian roll #2.

Sushi zone has been reliably outstanding for over 20 years. It would be hard to leave disappointed. With the outdoor parklett now, even better.

Late night dinner. Decided to try this place and I fell in love with it! We sat at the booth and was greeted immediately! Ordered Miso soup as an appetizer and I ordered to different type of rolls. Which were the Hawaiian Roll #1 and the New York. Miso soup was served literally 8 minutes after I had placed it. Rolls did take about an hour to serve. However, it was worth the wait they were presented perfectly and had an awesome fresh taste.
Best sushi in San Francisco I have ever tried before.
The waitress apologized for wait on the food but explained that there was only one chef. But wow was it worth the wait!
