My favorite bakery for special occasions. The cake is buttery and moist and the frosting is amazing! Picked up a small lemon cake this time to celebrate my oldest’s birthday. Of course I had to get some cupcakes in other flavors for the rest of us ;) Staff is always quick and friendly.

Love the buttercream frosting. All flavors come in slices and whole cake. The vanilla celebration cake is delicious. Staff are helpful and passionate. Great customer service.

I have only had SusieCakes once in my life (prior to today's adventure), but after today, they now have a life long supporter!

My friend got us some mocha cupcakes from them a few weeks back and it was delicious, moist, and just the right amount of mocha flavor. Since she and I loved it so much, I decided to get her one for her birthday!

I called up this Marina del Rey location to check before making the drive. Alondra was so lovely and helpful - she confirmed that they had some left and then went above and beyond and said that she could save one for me! This was probably around 5pm-ish and my ETA was 5: 48 so I already knew it was going to be tight. Of course tho, in classic LA fashion, there was an accident on the freeway and as I crawled along the freeway, I had to watch my ETA go up. I never want to be That Customer so I called again to confirm what time they closed and Alondra told me that she will keep my cupcake for me and to just drive safely! I made it with a minute to spare!

Now Alondra has already been so helpful, but as I burst in through the doors asking about my mocha cupcake, she decided to step it up again. She handed me my treasure in a bag and said that it was on the house and that they also threw in three more cupcakes for free! Not only that, but when I finally got to my friend's place with the prized cupcakes in tow, I found this sweet note from her thanking me for making the trip to enjoy their cupcakes and to drive safe! I am so so touched by her kindness and thoughtfulness.

I didn't have any cash on me this time (: (), but the next time I come back to SusieCakes, I am leaving a big tip for their delicious cupcakes and Alondra + the rest of their superb staff! Thanks Alondra for everything!

I arrived to pick up my paid pre-order on Saturday 7/15 at 11: 10 am, I requested order to be ready at 11am because I had an event starting at noon.

The order was not ready until 11: 45, which caused me to be late for the event I was hosting.

The quality of the cup cakes was not up to my expectations either. And even though they were having a buy 1 get 1 free cupcake, I didn’t get not even 1 cupcake to make up for the late delivery, despite asking for it, nor an apology. (Btw - I had purchased 48 cupcakes).

Pretty disappointed overall and will not be coming back to this store or recommending Susie’s cakes to others.

They had my order ready to go! The mini cupcakes were so good and perfect for the occasion I used them for! I definitely recommend this location, the staff was very sweet and super helpful!

Ohhh Myyyyy Their cupcakes/cake are amazing and sweet fun service too! I’m new to MDR and have been looking for a bakery to fill my sweet tooth craving. I bought an assortment to try and I’m hooked.
Icing in the middle? ! Oh so good! I’d add a picture but I already ate them all.

They have a menu board at the window listing flavors of the day. I got the Susie's nutty, two peanut butter cookies with a peanut butter cream filling. I love that it wasn't too sweet and that the cookies were soft baked. Staff is friendly and boxed up my items quickly.

This was my first time visiting a Susie's cake. The chocolate chip cookie was really good highly recommend! I wanted to try a cupcake and tried the Uncle Nearest 1884 Whiskey Vanilla cupcake and the whiskey was so strong it overpowered the flavor of the cupcake and it was not enjoyable was unable to eat it. I will definitely go back for the chocolate chip cookies.

I am giving them 1 star. Customer service is very important, as well as attention to detail. I specifically asked for 4 chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, because that is what my grandson loves. I assumed that they were placing what I ordered in a box. When I reach the house and opened the box, what I found was 4 chocolate cupcakes with orange frosting. I had traveled too far into Los Angeles, to take the cupcakes back to the Marina Del Rey. I was beyond disappointed.
My suggestion is that the shop allow the customer to see the order before they seal it up, to ensure that it is correct.
*follow-up: my grandson wouldn’t touch those cupcakes, so it was a total waste of money. I have been a Susie cakes customer from the very beginning, but I’m done. From here on out when I want cupcakes I’ll go to “Hotcakes” on Centinela. Their customer service is excellent, and you can view them putting your order together, because they no longer have covid restrictions.
