I was treated for a bleeding cut on my right leg (I am on a blood thinner). Both the nurse and the MD at the Urgent Care at Herrick Hospital were extremely competent and helpful. And fortunately, at that late afternoon hour, I was seen very promptly.

I am a member of SutterSelect and the care I received at the urgent care at Milvia was better than many experiences at actual doctor's offices. It was quick considering the waiting room, the staff was inviting and friendly, and my service was quick and informative.

There are not enough stars to express how absolutely fantastic Sutter Urgent Care is in Berkeley CA. From the reception staff, to the nurses, to the physicians, all are Number #1! Everyone should have the same professional, top-notch, and kind care we receive at this practice when seeking treatment. We are beyond impressed and grateful.

Care is mostly great but one time they outright scammed me out of $1700 so 2/5 stars. The American healthcare system is broken.

I came home from vacation with some awful blistering bug bites that were itching me like crazy. Went to Sutter Urgent Care and was seen by a doc within 15 minutes and given advice for the itching and a prescription for antibiotics. Really great, no-hassle care. Thank you!

I was seen promptly, professionally and friendly by all. A clean facility with X-ray and COVID testing.

I walked in yesterday for a bad middle ear infection and was seen in less than 15 minutes. The RN was excellent, fast and friendly. Dr. Jasmine Lee is a treasure and super knowledgeable. Plus. She did the one thing that many people don't: she listened to me first. I recommend Sutter Urgent care in Berkeley. My ear is already feeling much better compared with how I felt yesterday.

This was the best experience of the many that I have had at this location. There were enough intake people (3), I was seen within 5 minutes. Had a throat swabbing, and a nasal swabbing. The staff were efficient and thorough, I was out in 30 minutes! Great work.

The check in was easy, and the wait was about 30 minutes.
The Dr.and Nurse team that removed a foreign object from my ear kept me informed and the removal was painless.

Besides, I now know where to go if I have a future Urgent Care need!

Terrible experience yesterday as it was Saturday and urgent care closes at 5pm. My 2 year old was sick and I checked in at reception at 4: 45pm and they gladly accepted me. After 45 mins of waiting Nurse Annie called our name and the moment we entered into the room with my baby holding in his arms. Nurse didn’t even let us put baby in bed but right away she put the pulse stuff on baby’s finger and right away she said looks like heart beat is slightly high and so nothing can be done here and need to go to Oakland ER. I did tell her baby is been throwing up and if she could give some meds and she said it’s too late to do this and nothing can be done as baby needs IV and they don’t have time to do that as it is late. I asked her to atleast check fever and then she did. She was more in a hurry to leave and so she turned us away. Been a nurse but urgency to leave rather than taking care of patient is pathetic on her side. I went to ER in Oakland and there they said baby was hydrated and no IV was given but instead they have fever med and nausea med and baby didn’t throw up after that. I am really disappointed by nurse Annie in Sutter urgent care for been so not attentive to us especially when baby was so sick. Really the management should talk to her on this. Very very disappointed.

Once again, another Sutter Urgent Care that needs to get itself together. I am negative for covid but have been experiencing a pretty nasty cough for three weeks now. After a debacle at the Oakland Sutter Walk-In Urgent Care, I tried this Sutter location earlier today. Before driving over, I looked at the website, which is nothing more than their address and phone number, and a call to their number said no appointments necessary - nothing about how to deal with my particular set of symptoms. Fine, great. So I drive over only to be told that with my symptoms I needed to call the number on the poster outside and make an appointment. Only, when I was outside there was no poster. I walked out and someone at that exact moment was just then setting it up. So, I call the number and am told they can't see me until later in the day. Several issues here:

1. Instead of having patients drive themselves all the way to their clinic AND ONLY THEN tell them if they have any sort of cough that they need to call a number on a poster outside to make an appointment is a huge disservice (bordering on disrespectful) to a sick individual who requires medical care.

2. If this IS going to be your pitiful policy, then perhaps it would be wise to put this information on your website and on your outgoing phone message. That way, you see, a sick individual won't make the drive over to your office only to be told they have to leave and make an appointment for a later day and/or time, using a completely different phone number than the one on your website.

3. If you are going to require separate appointments for respiratory ailments because, as the receptionist put it, you "don't want covid patients at your medical facility" (THAT really has me flummoxed - Scarlet Letter much?), then have the decency to staff that part of the clinic during your regular business hours.

4. Public and private restrictions have been minimalized or jettisoned all together, even the government has said the covid emergency is over. I'm all for masks and remaining vigilant, and I'm even for going back to restrictions if a new variant starts to cause havoc again, but it's time for Sutter offices to stop treating people with respiratory symptoms like they have a big huge "C" plastered on their chest. You're a medical office! You violate your oath to take care of the sick, and, quite frankly, you insult people who are simply looking for care.

So. BEWARE.if you have a respiratory ailment, don't head to any of the Sutter Urgent Care facilities. They won't tell you via their website or phone message, but they won't see you. They'd rather you drive all the way to the office, and THEN tell you that essentially they consider you a leper and that you will have to make an appointment elsewhere on a later date, at a later time. And then once they send you away, you better hope beyond hope that you don't drop dead from shortness of breath or an asthma attack.

Late additional note: After posting this review, I looked further and saw similar one-star complaints from patients who had respiratory illnesses. They, too, were treated like lepers. What really gets me about those reviews is the responses from Sutter - pathetic canned replies offering empty apologies and scripted responses about how the treatment these patients received doesn't jive with some sort of invisible commitment to being nice. However, to date the responses offer up no reasons and no action plans to reverse what borders on discriminatory behavior against patients with our symptoms. Winter is coming, and that likely means an onslaught of respiratory ailments, most of which will be non-covid related. Reconfiguring their policy on this needs to happen asap. Otherwise, they should shut their doors and walk away.

I was seen quickly by Vincent, a Medical Asst.who had already reviewed my chart, then took my vitals and reason for the visit. Dr. McKinley saw me a few minutes later, reviewed the info and explained my symptoms and offered reassurance regarding my symptoms. I was impressed with the concern, knowledge and manner of Dr. McKinley who explained things well.

They were very quick!
The doctor was helpful, she could have known a bit more about how to use the boot because her instructions were different than the foot doc the next day, so it was no big deal.

Even though the website said there'd be 20 minute wait, I was able to be seen right away. The staff was very nice.

I was very pleased and grateful for the care I received at Sutter Urgent Care. I was visiting Berkeley from out of town and developed an infection that I needed to have treated. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and helpful, and I got the prescription I needed after seeing the nurse and doctor. I was glad that they use the MyChart system so they could see my medications and history without having to ask me for all that information.

Quick visit that resulted in immediate results and prescription in pharmacy within the hour. Friendly staff. No complaints.

The good: I was seen promptly, everyone there was very nice, parking was free, and when the doctor decided to send me to the ER she called ahead so that info was there when I arrived. The bad: the intake person gave inaccurate information to the doctor. The doctor did not inspire confidence: she didn’t understand some basic gynecological info, she kept getting what I was telling her wrong, and she passed on wrong information to the ER. I won’t go into the mess of a procedure she tried to get the nurse to help with. I was almost happy to be sent to the ER instead.
