Swan Oyster Depot reviews
14 Never thought I'd ever be dining outside at
S. O. D. & It was a real treat! ALWAYS grateful to show up here and leave happier than I came!
Got there a little bit too late what they did serve me I give him kudos for customer service I worked crab salad oh my god really fantastic thank you Swan oyster Depot
What a gem this place is, had pretty much everything on the menu, unfortunately no crab. It was to windy to fish, and if it's not fresh they aren't selling it.
Service was great!
The best and seafood salad ive ever had. Everything i have ever eaten here was fresh and good. Great friendly family atmosphere you dont find just anywhere.
You'll be one step closer to heaven after eating here.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
Come here and you'll be a regular after the first bite.
The service is absolutely outstanding. Friendly and you'll feel at home. Family run for decades.
Best oysters I’ve ever had! The flavor was rich and delicious, even bare with no lemon or sauce! But the sauce was amazing as well! Super fresh, absolute perfection. There was quite a long line for dine in, but after trying their food, it was understandable. The ambiance of the place was very old-fashioned seafarer homey, lots of pictures and cool stuff on the walls. Felt like going back in time. Speaking of which, they operate a cash register that looks 50 years old, so it’s cash only! Staff were playful and silly, but professional. Great experience overall.
An hour waiting in line for lunch but let me tell you it worth the wait, fresh and delicious seafood. There is a secret menu Crabsanthenum crab legs meat only, you need to ask your server. Siciallian sashimi. Saturday morning you can ask for red eye, it is a mix of Bud Light with cocktail sauce, lemon juice, Tabasco, Worcestershire, pepper and oyster juice. This place is cash only and they close at 230 p.m.
I went to get takeout from them twice during my stay in the Bay Area. I kind of like not having to wait in line. The food was still excellent and I am still obsessed with their smoked salmon. I had to get a pound on my second visit. Then I stopped by Acme bread and paired the two together. How can something so simple taste so good?
On my first takeout visit they did not have any tables set up outside, but on my second visit just two days ago, they had three tables set up for outdoor dining. I dont think a lot of people know about it so there was no wait. For those who still want to eat there, you can give them a call to see if they offer it on the day you are planning to go.
Seafood of good quality doesn't smell fishy or taste fishy. In my view, like tiny bubbles of buttery paradise, new seafood can go down the gullet. The freshest consistency is all SOD brings. Highly recommended!
Swan Oyster Depot combination. Loved the garlic butter and tartar sauce. Swan Oyster Depot. They even sell Swan Oyster Depot take home.
Very elegant and welcoming place. They offer large meals and for affordable prices. I liked the meals a lot and the staff were super welcoming and informative. Highly recommended.
We saw a Taiwanese Travel show mentioned about this place and highlighted its cheap price for seafood. So we head out here today with great expectations.
However it's super high price somehow disappointed us a lot. We ordered the Sicilian sashimi, clam chowder and half cracked crab. It costs us more than $70.
The half cracked crab is extremely small in portion but it contributed to more than half of our bill.
I would give credit to the Sicilian sashimi which is super fresh i can taste and it got quite a number of variety in there.
And the Clam Chowder is super small as well but i can taste no clam meat in it.
So overall we felt half ripped off. I don't quite understand the long line with this kind of price. May be people over here just don't have any chance of tasting really good seafood anywhere else.
One add up is that you could be scared if you see them preparing your food as they don't use any gloves nor not washing their hands after touching your money. So if you are concerned in this pandemic, better wait and think.
Cheap prices, good service, and Swan Oyster Depot. Comes out hot and ready to eat. Always willing to grab some if I'm around the area. I personally like the Swan Oyster Depot with fries.
