Sylvan Learning of Castro Valley

Such a wonderful place! We have been a Sylvan family for two years now. My daughter started taking tutoring classes for math when she was 7, in first grade. She loved it from day one. Her confidence soared! The teachers work with her to make sure she not only understands and masters the basic skills at her own pace, but they are always flexible and make sure she gets help with the work she’s doing in her classroom. I can’t be more happy with Castro Valley’s Sylvan. They have exceeded my hopes. They are all amazing teachers.

When schools closed and we began to shelter in place, Sylvan immediately rolled out a one-on-one class for students to keep up with their online studies. I am so grateful. It’s not easy teaching from home but having Sylvan’s help has been the thing that I can count on. My daughter has developed a relationship with her teacher that’s so beautiful to witness. It has flourished these past couple months.

Sylvan is the best academic decision we’ve made for our young learner. It’s been a game changer for her. She loves math now and especially loves Miss Monica, her regular teacher. All the teachers are great. I’ve never heard anything but praises from my girl after every class

As a mother, granny and an educator, I am always looking for great educators who take a sincere interest in making a difference with every child. Liset and Michaela, the directors at Castro Valley are excellent at sharing your child's educational needs with you. They are equally great at sharing what the ongoing educational needs still are and why it is important that the student/child reaches their goals. I, personally, find it refreshing to have all the facts laid out for you and to have all your concerns answered in a clear concise manner.

Sylvan of Castro Valley has been very gracious and kind to allow my son (who has social anxiety) receive tutoring lessons despite the fact that he is 26. We very much appreciate that someone cares enough for him to do well and pass his Math class. Today, he is doing very well and has been able to follow his class with so much less difficulty. His tutor is really patient and kind and he is learning a lot from her. His attitude has also changed into gaining a positive outlook and results with his Math class, and just life in general. I am grateful for Sylvan has been such a blessing.

I believe that investing in writing skills can benefit you for your entire life. She did the writing program two times and it was 100% worth the investment! My daughter’s writing skills improved greatly and so did her confidence! Her grades in English and Social Studies are proof that this program is worth it. Plus, she is getting the writing experience that I believe she may be missing in school.

I LOVE the the Sylvan crew of Castro Valley! The energy and dedication to assist the students is evident in the positive energy that every exudes, along with the visible results. I was honored to be part of the Sylvan Family (former employee) and I will state that the culture, atmosphere and the owners (Bill and Jack) are reputable and have deep souls.
If you are looking to work for a team, that is not only committed, but can be understanding, I would recommend stopping by!

Two of my children are attending Sylvan Castro Valley for reading and math tutoring, and it's going really well. The tutors keep the sessions interesting and fun, and the kids respond enthusiastically. They measure the students' progress on an ongoing basis, so the material is tailored to their current level of achievement. I'm amazed how much their reading and math has improved in just a few weeks.

Alexis b has improved in school since starting sylvan. She went from getting 0/10 to 8/10 on her spelling tests. Thank you Sylvan!

We love this place! All the staff is friendly and attentive. Both my children have improved drastically in all academic areas since attending the program after school. The kids enjoy the program too which makes it even better. I highly recommend Sylvan.

Our son was diagnosed with ADHD and was struggling with 2nd grade. The Sylvan program has helped him immensely. After a month he is now almost at grade level.

Decent place a bit too small. Staff is very friendly. Child enjoys the lessons. Cannot judge the progress yet. Went only four times. More expensive than other tutoring services.

Great place, I highly recommended it to anyone. My kid love it. All staffs are so friendly and helpful.

So far I like the environment. They are very nice and they always welcome my son Jaime Rodriguez Soto and I. I hope we get good results after my son is done with the program. I will be updated

My daughter Faizah join Sylvan Learning center in Castro Valley 2 years ago. Her English has improved tremendously. She loves the way they teach.she wishes Sylvan to be her regular school. She enjoys every moment at Sylvan. I am so glad I found this learning center. Thanks

We are very happy to find this tutoring center which offers strong curriculum and great quality of tutors. The directors, staff and tutors are very nice to kids, I can see my daughter feel encouraged and comfortable learning at Sylvan. We were also very impressed about the assessment test which help us understand our daughter better academically.

Sylan does a great job with helping children catch up or get ahead for all grade levels. My god daughter, Miya has been attending Sylan Learning in Castro Valley for about 2 years now and she loves it! I highly recommend them.

So glad we found this place. Our son was really struggling with math. We went to 2 different tutoring centers but right away knew it wasn't for us. The first day when he took his assessment test the staff made my son feel at ease and that is so important to me. I love how excited he is to come to tutoring and even asks us to bring him a few minutes early. I am very happy we found this place and reccomend it to any family.
