Sylvan Learning of Downey

I’ve dealt with other Sylvan locations and let me tell you…Adrienne, the director at this location, has been incredibly understanding and kind to us. My son enjoys going and likes all the staff. I recommend this tutoring location for sure.

My 14 year old had been having challenges with his schoolwork and grades. He started attending Sylvan Downey twice a week in January 2020. After only 2 weeks at Sylvan, he received his first A on a math test! He said, “Thanks to Ms. Pam, she knows how to do everything! And Ms. Tatianna showed me some things in math and now I understand! ” I’m so relieved to actually see my child excited and happy about school again.

My daughter was learning, but as soon the
pandemic happen it all change. The person in charged there (ADRIANNE) wanted to still bring my daughter and niece in thru the back, were the workers come in thru or to meet up at Starbucks, we said NO. She then wanted to do online classes, but i told her i wasn't interested in that, so she had the bright idea to say that she'll send someone to our house to tutor my daughter and niece at the same time. But i guess they didn't let her, so we never heard from her again. Now when it came to pay it was a headache trying to remove those 9,400 from my account. I daughter only went 8 days, 16 hours and i wanted to pay want i owe not all this. Now i was charge what ever they wanted an hour not what was on my contract which is $42.50 an hour. I had to call corporate and the bank tuition solution so many times, to get this fix. I still got fcked into pay EXTRA for this, there nothing that can be done now. So i have to pay an extra $136 for this. Hope this helps someone, thank you
