Sylvan Learning of Piedmont

My daughter is 6yrs old and loves attending Sylvan. I am very happy with the tutoring and care she is receiving. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to boost their child (s) learning needs.

Still very new to the Sylvan community yet so far I see the positive changes in my nephews confidence and demeanor. I find the conferences to be very informative and essential in their success as well as the available resources online. I am very optimistic and look forward to retaining sylvan after our educational goals have been met.

My third grader goes to Sylvan for reading and writing. I am so surprised and pleased in how excited and eager she is to attend her lessons twice a week. Especially with her previous frustration and lack of motivation for the subject. She loves the staff and the reward system. I have noticed a significant improvement in her confidence.

My son returned to Sylan after taking a break for a few years. I liked Sylvan before, and I am particularly impressed by the current staff there. When I told my son we were going to re-start sessions at Sylvan for his writing, he entered the building crying. Anthony the Center Director was very patient, developed a good rapport with him that calmed him down, and spoke to him in a way that put him at ease. He seemed to sincerely care about understanding what was going on, to be sure my son was seen, and make that connection. I feel that conversation started my son on the right foot. He believes the staff really cares about his success and about him as a person. My son now really likes (!) going to Sylvan because he sees it as a positive place where people are looking out for him. He has told me a few times that Sylvan exactly prepared him for the work he was doing in class. He had a private tutor before this, but he feels Sylvan's methodology and staff are much more effective for him. His writing is much improved, and the results in his report card show it!

The other aspects of what I appreciate about Sylvan compared to a private tutor is that there are several teachers, so there is no missed lesson if schedules don't align with one person.there is always someone who can give a lesson. Some of the staff are / were school teachers so they are very skilled. Also, you can easily ramp up or down with more or less sessions as you need, and sometimes they can easily identify when other aspects (e.g. Grammar) get in the way of the skill you're trying to improve (e.g. Writing). I really like that flexibility and those resources with a great staff.

During Covid, Sylvan was quick to seamlessly move to online tutoring so students did not need to miss any education. I think Sylvan Piedmont is very well run, with a talented and caring team. I highly recommend it!

Sylvan has been a life-saver for our son and for us. He came to Sylvan not realizing his potential in math and writing. Mr. Anthony and his talented staff have done a wonderful job in helping our child do better in school and more importantly, give him the confidence he needs going forward in his scholastic career. Lastly, during this pandemic, Sylvan was able to pivot and offer in-person tutoring that has been a welcome break from all the distance learning. Thank you!

I worked at Sylvan Piedmont and had a great experience as a teacher there. It’s a fun and positive learning environment and Anthony, the center director, works hard to meet the needs of students and teachers. I loved being able to build relationships with my students and see them improve in reading and math!

My experience Sylvan Learning was great. I had to take a six-hour proctored exam. For this I needed a quiet room with ample space for my gemological equipment. Anthony and staff were kind, courteous and very helpful. They understood my needs and was able provide me with the space that was clean and suitable for me. My exam was monitored through cameras so I wasn’t interrupted during my work and could fully concentrate.
People at Sylvan Learning are professional and know what they’re doing. I highly recommend them.

Sylvan helped My Son Graduate From College! I was skeptical to find the right tutor for my son! The last tutoring program did not help my son at all! My money was wasted! It's hard to find a tutoring program for a young adult attending college! I was shocked that Sylvan accepted my son into their tutoring program because I thought it was only for certain age groups (not college students) but the staff welcomed my son into their tutoring program! I spoke to the Director name Anthony Thomas. He was very professional & polite. I told Mr. Thomas my son struggles in Math. Instead of putting my son with other age groups. He placed my son with tutors he will feel comfortable working with! The First Time my son attended Sylvan was during his freshman year in College! My son passed his Math class! The second time my son attended Sylvan was during his Senior year in college! My son passed his Math class! Sylvan showed up & delivered the best math tutors for my son! Thank You So Much Mr. Thomas! I've been a Sylvan employee for almost three years and the Lead Teacher at the Piedmont location for the past eight months. I've enjoyed the opportunity to grow as an educator and develop relationships with our students. Our Center Director, Anthony, is always concerned with making sure our students receive the best instruction possible. I look forward to continuing to grow and learn from my time with Sylvan!

A very friendly working environment with helpful staff that answer your questions well. The staff are easy to talk to and help you with whatever you have questions on.

We needed to schedule a proctored test and the folx at Sylvan were very helpful, Covid aware, and easy to work with to get in and out quickly and easily. We are very happy to have found them. We’ve used them several times already to proctor online and in person exams. They’re great!

My son has been coming here for a couple of months and I have instantly seen a huge improvement. My son has become more confident in himself. His reading and comprehension has improved so much in such little time. It's amazing! I honestly recommend it.

I think Sylvan is a very good place to be if you are struggling with class work or homework. It personally helped me a lot and I recommend it for any kids who want the extra help! I would recommend it for topics that you don’t quite understand because they have a very good way of teaching you the best ways to get better.

The proctor process was very simple and Anthony’s guidance made everything very easy. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a available proctor.
