Taco Jane's Restaurant And Bar reviews
16I think we were the last customers and didn't feel rushed at all. Had mole and suiza enchiladas, quite good. We hadn't been for decades and will definitely go back. In this part of Marin hard to find comparatively very good food, moderately priced.
The food is as good now as it was 20 years ago. It's a San Anselmo staple and a great casual spot.
I was craving shrimp tacos today, so we came here for lunch, our first visit. The tacos were excellent and I appreciated that their side beans were black beans, instead of the refried pinto beans usually encountered. They served some (a bit mediocre) chips with two tasty salsas, one a spicy red salsa that was delicious, and a second with black beans and tomato that was tasty, but lacking the zing of the former. They served our dog a big bowl of water (outside dining, thank you). All in all, it was a very pleasant lunch. We will return.
The best Mexican burrito ever! Also try the rice and beans! The are super! You can dine in and takeout.
Great service. My tummy wasn't happy with the food after lunch. Kid friendly environment
Busy. Not authentic Mexican food. Service staff not helpful.
Really poor quality margaruita.
We’ve been going here for over a decade. I used to love the food. It was original, with great vegetarian options. But the last few times I’ve been really disappointed. I think the cooking has gone downhill. The food is soggy, undercooked, and tasteless. I still give it 3 stars as the service is excellent and the ambiance relaxing and fun.
Local, laid-back vibe with indoor and outdoor seating. Good for families with kids. Live duet musicians Tuesday eves. Standard Mex fare, excellent margaritas!
Excellent food and great service! We had the red snapper tacos and chicken mole. Both were delicious. Very friendly guy welcomed us in and told us all about the menu. Definitely eat here!
Would say they're the best Mexican place in San Anselmo area, but had better be since their pricing is about 40% above everyone else.
Since I’ve been coming here since I was 11 months old (now 24) I guess it’s time to write a review. This has always been my favorite restaurant in Marin. After all these years Jose and Matteo still remember me and are so sweet. I love the chicken fajitas but everything on the menu is honestly incredible, and the margaritas are the best in Marin. I live out of state now and whenever people say they’ll be in the Bag Area I tell them to make the journey out to Taco Jane’s. Deserves way more hype!
Great place. Very well appointed decor, cheerful and doesn't feel crowded. Food is very good, drinks are great. Not so sure about that fire roasted tomato salsa, but everything else was delicious.
Where to start…
They serve the community more than any other business.
They continue to innovate and elevate every year and make the best Mexican food even better.
The staff are sweet as can be.
What else can I say except I hope eat through the whole menu!
Fresh clean flavors and cozy atmosphere. The place is kinda small so come here when it's not so busy if you plan on dining in.
Our family loves taco Janes and go there once a month. The service is excellent; you get your food 5 minutes within ordering, the staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and they have a great outdoor patio area for warm nights!
Foods really good, fresh and tasty. Drinks are expensive, wine pour is modest, margaritas are average for cost. Staff is friendly and work hard. Short comings are the wait in line to order, no paper menus available to review in advance. Only one person working the register creates a clumsy bottleneck and long wait in line out to the sidewalk when things get moderately busy, esp when take-out orders are being filled with people and staff squeezing past each other for pick orders. Parking can be an issue with a 3-4 block walk on a Friday evening.
