Tai Yuan Seafood Restaurant reviews
15Great place Great dim som all othere food was great too would definitely recommend this place and come back
Don't expect high creations of foods but good and reasonable. Greatly appreciate the honesty of the management as NO tips added is obvious with the notification.
Unlike many places both Chinese & American restaurants, customers are creeper on ALREADY added 18% and the customer pays double onto tab. The service person not advising of tips already added on.
Do please give Tai Yuan a chance as it's location is away from the norm foot traffic but they are good.
Wonder if they have a new chef. Went there last night and the food was HORRIBLE! @##
Price is reasonable but food is just horrible. Panda express is much better.go figure.
This dim sum restaurant hits all the feels. We came just a bit after 1pm which is after the lunch rush. All the dishes came hot off the steamers which is likely because we came after the lunch rush.
We ordered the usual items when I have dim sum with my family (ha gao, siu mai, fong zhou, lo mei gai, etc.). For three people, this amount of food was just right.
Went here for Saturday dim sum. Their food seems delicious, but the restaurant seems a bit old and smelly.
The dim sum is decent and the price is reasonable. In my opinion, it's better than Koi Palace. As long as you don't mind it's not as fancy looking as some other restaurants.
Came here on a Friday for lunch because I was craving some dim sum. I thought the restaurant would be crazy busy because your parking lot was very full, but most of the people were doing some grocery shopping. As we walked into the restaurant I noticed that it was probably about 70% full, but they were still tables available.
Once we sat down, our menu was placed on the table, and we ordered our tea. Ordering is fairly typical of most dim sum restaurants, you mark what you want on a piece of paper hand it to the waiter and they will input your order. We ordered quite a few dim sum dishes as well as beef chow fun.
Some highlights that I definitely suggest are the beef meatballs, har gao, and siu mai. Prices are a little high, but food is nice and fresh.
Good quality food! All dishes we ordered were delicious. Recommend the chicken, pepper beef dish, and the Bak Choy dishes!
Service were good and fast too!
Will visit again if we are in the neighborhood.
Frankly speaking, the experience does not meet my expectation. Meal is average, but the price is a bit higher than usual. You have better choice for other Chinese or Cantonese cusine, trust me.
The unbelievable thing is the casher proactively ask for 10% tips at least, not a friendly experience at all.
Had dim sum for morning tea and it was a great experience. Food quality was good and decent atmosphere despite the pandemic
We were able to have a private room for our family to celebrate a birthday. The staff was was helpful and gave us excellent service.one server sanf happy birthday in Chinese. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Good place to bring friends and family to eat Dim Sum and special occasions. Enough room for Wedding Party.
First ‘post’ pandemic visit and was not disappointed. Food was still delicious and service was prompt. They were quick to whisk away empty dishes, which was great because we needed the table space for all the food we ordered.
Cost has gone up a little and portions seem a little smaller. And instead of selecting food off carts and trays, you order in advance. When the food promptly arrived, it was piping hot and so very delicious.
The place was packed, with tables nicely distanced. Worth coming back again and again.
Ate here earlier today and had an extremely poor experience. Food quality was mediocre, and they attempted to overcharge our bill by ~$50 more when it should have cost a little over $100 total.
The details on the food were not there. The Chicken Feet seemed a bit watered down. The flavor in the sauce was lacking or bland. The Shanghai Dumplings are served with little foil pans. These pans are not greased so each time you try to pick the dumpling out of the foil pan, the skin sticks to the pan, tears, and spills all the soup into the pan. The dumplings also had thinner skin than previously. The BBQ Pork and Corn Noodle Rolls had a completely different flavor. There was white pepper in it, when I've never had at any Dim Sum restaurants. It is not a flavor that meshes well with the BBQ Pork. The beef tripe was also not drained after blanching it. There was excess water with the tripe. The soy sauce did not come in a separate bowl, and was poured into the same dish, which caused the sauce to be watered down too.
We had 15 dishes, but none of the specials. Everything was K ($8.68), L ($6.68), or M ($5.68), with only 2 dishes as K sized. The overcharge ($157 - first bill vs $108 - actual bill) seemed intentional as we did not receive an itemized receipt with the prices, and they tried to brush off our pushes to see an itemized receipt. The overcharge was eventually corrected and the first receipt was voided.
Extra Background:
My family and I used to come to this restaurant all the time over a 20+ year period. This was our favorite Dim Sum restaurant. We haven't been here since pre-pandemic until today. The restaurant used to be named Tai Wu. It was sold and changed names to Tai Yuan a few years ago.
