Carr's didn't have my size in Santa Maria, so they called Takkens and made sure they had them. Good amount of stock, friendly service!

Brought in a christmas present to exchange and the gal was really friendly and helpful. Left with a really cute replacement pair of boots and some leather treatment products.

Albeit I spent a lot more than I wanted to on shoes and insoles, the service, advice, help, and understanding of the staff was great and will be coming back for more in the future.

Takkens has the widest selection of work boots around. I was helped by 2 of their employees who helped me find the right model and colorway in between helping other customers. Also found out they do shoe repairs and resoles. I will be coming back next time I need something.

EDIT 5 weeks after buying: Takkens was not willing to help when I found out I had a factory defect boot, I am now dealing with the manufacturer directly.

Customer service has greatly improved with the new management. Always felt like was bothering them by going in. Now it is a pleasure. Selection of available boots for my large feet was very low but they ordered for me. Overall a much better experience than a year ago.

Brandelyn is rude with a nasty lil attitude in her so called professionalism she was COMPLETELY unhelpful. I am NOT impressed, to say the least. If staff is rude to customers then it doesn't matter what products they carry, nor the quality, in my book.

I have been buying 2 to 3 pairs shoes every month, to this day, no worker can lace shoes evenly, not can they math lace seeing or color!

I ordered a specific orthotic and they sent a different one that is useless because it has no arch support at all. Took 3 days to get thru to them via phone calls. Emails were returned undeliverable. Finally got thru and they don't even have the one I ordered! Very frustrated. They are refunding my money and sending a return packing label at least, but I will not be ordering from them again.

Rude staff. Always a turn off when shopping or eating when the staff acts rude or uncaring. This alone is enough to say Avoid!

I wanted to shop local but I asked for my size in 4 or 5 different shoes and they had nothing. Size 9 women's is pretty common. The staff was barely attentive. Heading to my comuper to order online.
