Tamarack Lodge Motel, Tahoe City CA

Very nice motel. Rooms were clean, comfy, and quiet. We got a room with a kitchen and it had everything we needed to make a nice dinner. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

Very cute, unique, pleasant management. Quite, lots of nice touches, Real dishes, not plastic, good coffee, nice linens. Each room is decorated with lots if custom made touches.

Just wonderful. Took our lab Lady and stayed in Cabin 19. Felt like family. Owners are amazing. Came her to unwind. Lady had a great time too. Hiking right behind cabin. We have not left yet and already booked for next year. Room was amazing too. Love the rustic feel. And was surprised how big the TV was. The kitchen had everything you needed. I did bring my cast iron pan because I love it lol. You can't go wrong if you book hear.

After a long day of hiking, I was fortunate to recharge here. The poker room was perfect! It was nice to have the mini fridge as well as I had some items I needed to keep cold. The property has lots of games like an outdoor ping pong table. I only wish I could have stayed more than one night. If I'm ever in the Tahoe area I will be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tamarack Lodge. The Manager is very attentive and hospitable. The only minor issue we had was the space was pretty tight inside the room with limited seating area. Overall though, we loved the experience and would definitely stay again next time.

Spent two nights here. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Rooms were neat, tidy, and clean. I forgot my cell phone charger after I left and the motel went through the trouble of retrieving it and shipping it home to me. Outstanding level of service! 5/5

Perfect getaway from crowded places. Short walk to the beach, and restaurants are just a mile away in Tahoe City. Loved the combination rustic/steampunk style in cabin 16. Nice kitchen with all necessary things to make a pleasant stay.
Definitely will try to come back in winter.

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The staff here is incredibly nice! I really can't say enough about them. Our son got sick on our trip and they were fantastic. The room was comfy and the kitchenette was very functional. The only change I would make would potentially be A/C. The location in the forest keeps it pretty cool but I could see it being missed on a particularly hot day.

Charged 224$ for a night we didn't stay! Due to family emergency, tried calling them to cancel stay & no one pick up. Then following day they called us to charge us full price. Beware before you book with them.

Great cabin in the woods. Perfect location.can be cold at night (we were there in the summer) dogs are allowed. Nice owners, like everything in Lake Tahoe: A little overpriced.

Beautiful location and comfortable room. The accessible room is very easy to move a wheelchair around in, including the bathroom.

We stayed in cabin 19 which was charming, cozy, clean and comfortable. It’s a great location and our little dog was very happy sniffing the grounds. We cooked meals and the cabin had the necessary dishes, pans etc. It was peaceful and quiet. My daughter says it was like being in a Christmas movie. One paw and two thumbs up!

We came for the week end and had an amazing time here.
Location is great, close to the shore and to the forest.

Loved the small cabin, was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the kitchen (stove, microwave, pots, dishes, coffee maker + free coffee!). Mostly kept the curtains closed, as the proximity of other buildings made it feel less private with them open. Both owners were kind and welcoming. Perfect location for hiking — it was so nice to start hikes from the cabin rather than needing to drive. Also an easy 20-30 minute walk to Tahoe City for dinner.

What a hidden gem! The family owned lodge is super clean, well located and resonates with old Tahoe charm. Cabin 17 is well set up, cozy and perfect for my husband, husky and myself. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful, greeting us as we arrived and bidding us goodbye when we left. I give them 10 stars!

Perfect spot to stay for a ski weekend. The Poker room was exceptionally comfortable and an amazing value. The location is perfect right in Tahoe City. This is the best deal I have found in the north Tahoe area and will be staying again when we are looking for a simple and quick weekend trip.

Just do yourself a favor and stay here. Owned by a great family that goes the extra mile to take care of you and their property. Can’t wait to come back.

Super accommodating during our last minute stay. Great customer service! Our room was very clean and quiet. It also was very cute and cozy, with fun decor and soft sheets. Would recommend!

The exterior is rustic tahoe. The cabin we stayed in was newly redone with beautiful and artistic details. Modern conveniences and intricate wood and metal work made the interior unique and inviting.
