Tapia Brothers Inc. reviews
16A valley institution since the 1920s, fresh produce grown onsite, great people, one of the best places in LA!
The owners are great people! They make you feel like friends from along time ago even if you just meet them.
What a cool and fun place for the whole family. Pumpins, corn, and all kinds of high quality organic produce straight from the farmers at super cheap prices. Animals from horses to rabbits, alpacas, donkeys, chickens for children to interact with and other fun activities including a corn maze. Had a blast for cheap. Highly recommended.
Amazing "heirloom" tomatoes that look like regular big red tomatos. The best corn maze ever (except the Covid theme of the corn maze; a little weird). Great place for kids; tons of different animals in the petting zoo. Fantastic background music.
We love going to Tapia Brothers, it's small but it has everything you need. In the fall they have a great variety of pumpkins and seasonal fruit. You paid a $2 entry, but you can use those tickets for a discount on any purchase when you leave. Across the street they have an awesome corn maze and train hay ride. It's one of our family's favorite traditions.
It's expensive 5 dollars per person to go and touch some animals and then another twenty per person to do a 5 min hay ride. They didn't even have apple cider big disappointment
Pros and cons here, but a lot more cons. If you hate and get annoyed by crowds brace yourselves. This place is busier than it has been in other years and I’m not sure why. The hayride and corn maze is across the street and the pumpkin patch and market is in the main lot.
The line to the hayride was over 30 min and that’s too long for a 4 year old to wait! My daughter had fun though, passing by all the Halloween decor/ props but I’m not sure why everyone decided to come at 3 pm on Sunday at the same time. There has to be some type of crowd control and if it has to do with discouraging crowds in some way, for the love of God, please do! Getting in to the lot was stressful. Every God Forsaken spot was filled except for 1 we were lucky to grab.
The main pumpkin patch was another story. They added a petting zoo which I don’t remember seeing in the past and the lines were just as bad. You would think that people live in closets the way they were hanging on to the lines. Good thing we didn’t need to buy tickets for the petting zoo considering the dirty people waiting in that line.
Also.this isn’t a nursery. Leave your rats at home with the babysitter. I’m not sure where all these scums came from and from the way they were hanging out you would think Pope John Paul had come to town.
They have a good variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and pumpkins from all sizes. It is a great spot to take pictures and a decent area to entertain kids but no pumpkin patch is worth this headache. I believe this is is the one that takes EBT. They need to prohibit EBT cards! Sorry this is Encino. That’s half the problem.
There are other, more refined pumpkin patches to take children, so next year and on we will NOT be returning!
The place is nice to take kids and check out but it was way overcrowded on a Sunday. I'd suggest going during the weekday and park down the street and walk.
A great and fun place for family and friends and kids to goto. Pets not allowed. Alot of pumpkins and mini market for fresh fruits and vegetables. Also get your tickets for the corn maze.
Love this place.feels so like home and workers are nice and helpful. Been coming to buy produce and when our llittle one is feeling stressed we bring her here to feed the animal which she adors.
Best fresh produce! I love supporting family owned and operated businesses and this is my go to for fresh produce. My favorite time of year is summer when they have the best tomatoes and watermelons ever! Oh and don't forget fresh corn on the cob. They also get in different varieties of plums and you can smell the fresh strawberries when you get out of your car. They have everything you could want all year round.
Not very big though but decent to spend for 2 hours. My kids liked pony ride and watching/feeding animals (Lama, goat, Rabbit). At last we bought some vegetables and fruits. Overall its a decent experience.
A friendly game of covid death stats and questions for your children to enjoy. Totally child appropriate.
The people there were very friendly and very helpful. Carolyn was so friendly and she made me happy to come back.
I came back again to do the Corn Maze and purchase more vegetables
Thank You for all the fun you provide for everyone!
My fiancé took the kids to Tapia bros yesterday for some festive Halloween fun. The theme of the corn maze is disturbing to say the least. I don't know whose idea of fun this would be for kids but you should probably do some market testing before committing to this bad of an idea. The puzzle questions were completely morbid and borderline propaganda. Before you go and overspend your $$, think about the "fun puzzle" questions you'll be subjecting your family to. "What was the name of Cassie Tapias grandmother that did die due to COVID Complications? "
This place is disturbing, but not in a fun, Halloween-style way. The corn maze for the kids has trivia questions with answers scattered around for them to discover and answer. Fun, zany trivia questions like: "Sadley, Grandpa Felix, and Gasper all died in 2020. Which one died from Covid? "
These kids are exposed to Covid fear all day, a peaceful autumn day at the corn maze would be the perfect diversion from all that, yet the farm feels it is their responsibility to indecorously expose these children to more fear.
