Tapioca Express reviews
17A nice place to get lunch or dinner. Their combo meals are around $10. I like their milk tea and their food is all right.
While I normally love Tapioca express, today we had two combos that unfortunately just were not up to par. The food was so hard and stale that we could barely bite into it. I am all for more Taiwanese food in SD, but was truly disappointed today.
I like their coffee and my husband loves their latte.
Friendly staff, clean place, and delicious lunch.
The food and the drinks were subpar. I didn't finish any of the food that I had bought, I might be a harsh critic, but I thought it tasted like bad frozen food, and the drinks were like straight syrup.
We really enjoyed their milk teas and smoothies. The staff is extremely friendly and helped us navigate a diverse menu. It’s a little barren in there though but no complaints on the drinks
While I love Tapex when it's good, unfortunately I often find myself asking them to remake my order. There seems to be an issue with consistancy. 5 stars on a good day, 2 stars on a bad day.
BEST EGGROLLS, BEST BOBA MILK TEA FOR REALLY GREAT PRICES.happy hour regular boba milk tea is only like THREE DOLLARS and the egg rolls plus sweet sauce are so delicious and so cheap. Love this place
I ordered a stir fried chicken combo and here is what I found in my food - a broken iron piece. It could have injured me so bad. RIDICULOUS!
Great place for lunch! They have lunch specials for less than $10 and comes with a drink. The food is yummy and their boba drinks are my fave. Make sure you get the right straw size, the last couple of times I’ve gone I was given a small straw so I couldn’t drink my boba.
Great drinks and spicy chicken, but seriously, how about closing down for a day and cleaning the bathroom, walls, ceiling, etc.
Got a fruit slush here. No fruit or flavor in it. Just tasted like ice and nothing else. Couldn't recommend less.
The menu here is expansive. Milk teas, fruit teas, coffee, slushes, small bites. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. Prices are fair and service is very fast. It's nice that you can order your drinks and customize the sugar level.
I got the Earl Gray Milk Tea with half sweetness, it was disappointing to say the least. The tea flavor was just not there, it tasted watered down and sad. The boba in the other hand was pretty good! Just the right texture and brimming with flavor to make up for the bland tea.
The drinks here are delicious and the food is also very good. Very friendly customer service.
Love the food and boba here but the staff need to do better at getting orders right I ordered twice now and they got both wrong
I hadn't eaten here before but they have short ribs with rice, a potsticker, a side salad, AND a drink for less than $10! Their drinks are awesome but i'm excited for their food
and the young lady who helped me order was very nice and personable:)
it also smells really good here? Awesome
This place is legit, and direly needed in this type of student-run La Jolla community. Walk in any given evening and you will see fellow UCSD students studying, playing cards, or just blowing off steam.
Points to note: Weekdays before 6 is their 'happy hour, ' which involves $2 snack-size fried chicken AND $2 thai milk tea with boba! Strongly recommend.
I also believe that if you come in after 9 or 10pm, its buy 1 - get 1 50% off on all their teas! Perfect for a chill date night.which I will keep in mind if ever given such an opportunity haha.
This place was my go-to spot for GRE and SAT tutoring. I usually go for the fried chicken wings snack and/or the taro snow bubble, which is blended with ice cream for added deliciousness.
