Taqueria Castillo reviews
15Horrible! They only add 4 slivers of avocado, not even a 10th of an $1 avocado worth to a $15 dollar super burrito. I will not go back. Crazy.
Best Mexican food in the immediate area. In fact, maybe the only Mexican restaurant in the area. Decent grub, little atmosphere, nice staff.
We were looking to try a different taqueria and heard good things. Figured this was a good way to use the DoorDash gift card I got too. However, this is mainly a DoorDash based review. The burritos were tasty but not worth the $30+ extra of DoorDash fees. Also, although the picture of the Mexican Coke on DD says it's a 1L bottle, we received only a small single serving bottle which $5.60 seems excessive for that. Also, I don't know if its only for DD orders, but this is the only taqueria I've ordered from/eaten at that doesnt give chips and at the very least salsa with their burritos. So, our order of 2 Super Burritos and 1 Bean & Cheese Burrito and one bottle of Mexican Coke (no chips or salsa) cost over $60! It also came extremely cold, but actually reheating on the stove to give an extra dorado crisp was tasty but also a bummer to have to do when i was trying to avoid cooking tonight. All in all, yummy food, but do yourself a favor and avoid DoorDash and just go there to pick up. We’ll give them another chance next time we’re in that neighborhood
Don't. Just don't (smh) sorry
Really nice people, but the food is pretty bad very very watery everything which made my burrito and nachos were soggy before I could eat it. The pico might have been bad we had to remove it, and the meat was not very flavorful. We were hungover and it gave us sustenance to stay alive lol ️ 2 stars
Large amount of food, very good, too! The people who work there are so nice, too. Neighborhood is a little sketch, but you'll be fine!
Love coming here.
My boyfriend and I come here for quesadillas ALL the time. Love the food and the people who work here.
Cheap good Mexican food can't ask for much more!
Some more veggies on the tacos could be good
Me and my partner absolutely love their burritos very fast service and they are very friendly. The prices are also pretty reasonable.
A lovely small restaurant (looks like a family business). Their taco is my favorite, and the staff are really nice. The business hour is long enough for me to enjoy brunch and night snacks.
I need a lot of Mexican food, tacos burritos and solas answer lies yeah but it the pit the places excellent
Food is average to be expected customer service is lacking I was disappointed when I was charged extra when requesting a spoon after picking up sorry for a few moments and coming back in it seemed Petty although I do understand that small businesses are suffering during this pandemic.
Very Scary on the outside and located in the heart of Civic Center. Watch your bags and cell phones coming and going. Outside of that - the food is fresher than most Mexican Taquerias' i have been to and you get large portions. It's worth the trouble to get food here.
HANDS DOWN TO THIS RESTAURANT. JAVIER AND HIS CREW WERE AWSOME. UBER EATS DRIVER (S) NEVER PICKED UP OUR FOOD. OUR LAST DAY IN SAN FRANCISCO MY FAMILY AND WANTED A QUICK BITE BEFORE BED. WE WERE WAITING OVER 1 HOUR FOR OUR FOOD. THE OWNER JAVIER SENT A DRIVER TO PICK UP AND HAVE OUR FOOD DELIVERED, HE REMADE OUR FOOD, CAME SUPER HOTT, HE ALSO SENT EXTRA, EXTRA, CHIPS, SALSA. HE WAS AMAZING THANK YOU JAVIER AND STAFF. NEXT TIME WE COME TO SAN FRANCISCO WERE DEFINITELY STOPPING BY AND EATING HERE.
My favorite burrito in the city, hands down.
2020 edit: the staff has changed and the quality has suffered. Portions are smaller and prices are pretty high ($23 for two burritos). Cook handled raw meat and didn't wash his hands before making my order.
