Taqueria El Abuelo reviews
15Great Mexican Food spot with standard beers. A few TV's normally broadcasting soccer. Old Lady behind the counter is pretty nice. Small and no frills. Great for soaking up the booze after leaving one of the local bars.
First time there my friend recommended it its was pretty good I would recommend this place I got burrito it was great
Food looks edible but when you have a full stomach, the viewing of the preparation made my experience all the less appetizing. Don't get me wrong the food may be good but the presentation reminded me of a school cafeteria where they just slopped the side dish and main course in partitions on a styrofoam tray. Would I eat there? A possibility! I was just going with a friend to pick up their meal. I never got around to asking them if it was good or not.
This place has gone downhill hard. Used to really like this place but not anymore. Staff is rude now, gets orders wrong, and quality is sketchy to say the least.
I bought a Birria burrito that was amazing! Definitely have to come back to try something else.
Delicious.got the carne asada fries.super burrito.breakfast burrito.so many salsas and great drinks. Friendly service.love it
I have been going to Taqueria El Abuelo for over 15 years. Food always good. I usually go there for lunch and take to go. Highly recommended authentic Mexican food!
Top notch as I remembered. Been coming here since a I was little. The food is good as always.
We went here after church on Dunday.an older woman at register who took our order was very friendly. Food was delicious. Only bad thing is the bathroom outside was dirty no soap.
I ate here with my friend last night, 12/17. First, the older lady managing the register was extremely rude! At one point I had to ask her why she was angry, after she rudely, and in a loud voice, told my friend where the bathrooms were. The old lady replied semi-nicely that she was not angry. Next, I asked her for an extra plate after we received our food and she rudely said she would have to charge me $1. I told her the plate was not a to-go plate, and she chuckled and said she was just kidding. I informed her I was not amused by her sense of humor. Then, one of the younger guys working there chimed in rudely in support of her. Lastly, the food was definitely too greasy and overly expensive! I ordered the chimichanga and it was mediocre. I didn't even finish my food, and I always do. My friend and I actually ended up at this place by default. We will definitely not return, nor recommend this place! If you want really good food and service, I recommend 3 Hermanos Mexican Grill. I would have gone there, however, I was closer to home, sonwe stopped at this place.
One of the oldest taquerias in San Jose nestled in Willow Glen. Burritos and tacos are great and seafood and other plates also offered. Free chips and salsa are always a plus don't forget to grab a Mexican Coke highly recommend
Parking in the rear of the restaurant. Kid friendly.
Outdoor seating available.
Love the Menudo! Salsa bar and fresh tortillas chips.
Food is very fresh and generous portions.
Huge menu that ranges from breakfast items to fresh seafood and soup.
I highly recommend it.
The Taco plate was Wonderful! Al pastor & Carne Asada were juicy! Great variety of salsas too!
I was disappointed with my order. The French fries were over fried in old oil and the carne asada torta was made with no love (soggy bread is not cool).
