Taqueria San Jose reviews
18Great breakfast burritos! The service is always great, don't forget to try the Agua frescas, so refreshing!
I've been going to this place for a very long time at least over a decade. The service there is excellent. The lady who answered the phone call for to take my order for takeout is well spoken and fluid. The food is great as usual. Also, I liked getting my carnitas fries in modification of carne asada fries as I don't eat red meat. I'm glad they take orders by phone call. The professional conduct by these people should get an A+ for it. Glad to have these folks close by to serve our local community.
I wouldn't even give them any stars at all they have s***** service road customer service I ordered food from them and my food was cold also my daughter went to the bathroom and she seen roaches inside the bathroom also I asked the guy in the back why he didn't wash his hands after he used the restroom this place is dirty I wouldn't recommend it at all
Growing up in Modesto, San Jose Taqueria was a place my family and I cherished. I moved away 17 years ago but have had a few opportunities to come back. I'm so happy that after all these years, San Jose has not changed. The flavors, the menu, the hospitality- is as amazing now as it was when I was a 10 year old little girl. I brought my kids in this time. They loved it! It definitely brings back memories while I'm able to create new ones with my kids. Maybe one day they'll come visit on their own to enjoy the delicious food at San Jose. Absolutely the best!
It's not good had to wait over an hour for a party at 6: 00 to get our food as we watched other people walk in order and leave while we still sit and waited for our order to be made the food was okay but not what you'd expect from it in taqueria
This spot has the best shrimp burrito in the area. Make sure you get it super and a la diabla. The staff is always friendly. This place has always been clean and the small salsa bar they have had the best pickled onions.
We have been eating here for 20+ years. After the owner passed away and his son, the food has obviously been different and not very good. Unfortunately the previous owner was the reason it was good. Our order is normally wrong or just bland. My parents have eaten there for 20 years as.well and it makes them sad to order anymore
I moved back to Modesto and decided to eat at San Jose. I ordered the chile verde plate. I was super disappointed when I tasted the meat. It was hard, dry and hard to chew. I paid $ 17.00 for the plate.
Amazing portions great food we could not finish our breakfast burritos! One of the few places on our travels that offered eggs and nopales yummmmmm
This used to be my very favorite place to eat probably still could be but when I ordered the quesadilla for the 1st time and I've been eating here every since the restaurant opened it was not what I expected I should have stuck to my burrito my tamales or something else it tasted good but there was hardly no meat on it and the sauce was just thrown on top and it was not even cut into pieces I couldn't went to the taco truck and got this disappointed
The quesadilla I ordered was small for the price and all dinner plates were also high in price.the guacamole had more tomatoes prices in it then guacamole.over all I think I will only order tacos next time
Restaurant was clean, not very busy, food order was quickly prepared. Dined indooors with my family. Salsa bar was open. I wasn't happy about that.
Place is a joke walk in nobody is wearing a mask ok cool so I wait in like for 20 minutes get up to order guy says oh you need a mask or you won’t take your order so I said the last 5 people didn’t have a mask he says well their Mexican so it’s ok you need your mask used to eat there 3 times a week but never again lost a customer for life
Prices getting high and quality not so much. Meat was fatty and amount was little. The taste was good but not worth the money
Gross. The menudo smelled like a barnyard, the beans were over cooked, and the "salsa bar" is pathetic. I added a star because at least the drink menu was bigger than most. Pricey for what your get. Won't be going back.
I ask for hard shell tacos and this is what I got! They need to take more pride on there food. Bad bad. Their food used to be good before!

Our usual burrito place was already closed last night (10/17/21) by the time we decided we wanted burritos for dinner; so we looked for another place to try and saw all the rave reviews for this one (the one at Briggsmore and Prescott) and since it was open later we went for it. We ordered the super burritos which, according to their menu, were supposed to have meat, rice, beans, salsa, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. We ordered 3 carne asada and 1 carnitas, all super burritos. None of them had salsa or guacamole in them. It makes a difference in the overall flavor, plus you pay more to get all the stuff inside. They also wrap them differently here than any other place I've been to. Rather than wrap the tortilla completely around the filling so the tortilla is only on the outside, they do a jelly roll type of wrap so there is a lot of tortilla on the inside which, before you bite into it, makes it seem like there's a lot of filling inside. However, it's a lot of tortilla inside with a thin layer of fillings around the rolls of tortilla, again more like a jelly roll technique to wrapping it. Despite being disappointed about the missing items and missing volume of fillings (compared to our favorite place), what we did receive had good flavor. Because of that, we have decided to give them one more try in the future to see if last night's order was the result of an off-night or fluke or new person in the kitchen, etc. We are very much into supporting local businesses so we're very willing to give this place another chance in the future.

I used to go to this place for my lunch since was close to my work, but last time i bought a chicken Supreme quesadillas, and found couple hair inside my food. And the restroom is dirty as well. Won't go back anymore.
