Bakery Tartine Manufactory reviews
1620 dollar for an ok cake and a very small portioned capuchino. This is robbery in daylight. I guess it was OK but too expensive for the value you get. Go somewhere else
The scone was fine. The breakfast sandwich was fine. The coffee was fine. The wait was long. I don't understand the hype. I can't recommend it, but I'm not going to tell you to avoid it either. Maybe it's better when you sit down. It was just fine. I’d give 2.5 stars if I could, but I have to assign whole star values so I’m doing under the average b/c I can’t recommend
The avocado tartine was divine! The other items on the menu though were expensive for subpar food - steer clear of the coffee, croissants, and the turkey club.
The food is delicious. All seating is outside and you must have a reservation. You order everything on your phone and pay on your phone. It is very difficult to make any special dietary requests. The servers just bring out the food to you. The prices are outrageous! $18 for avocado toast. $8 for a few slices of toast. You can buy a loaf of their bread but they will not slice it for you.
Incredible food and bread. I aspire to have the bread I bake be as good as theirs. Willing to take a 45 minute bus ride just to get a loaf
Food is delicious but you have to order and pay in advance before the food even comes to you. A little annoying. They don’t serve the coddled eggs with trout roe and za’atar bread anymore. Sad… Anyone who hasn’t tried it has truly missed out. Luckily, you can find the recipe on the internet. Unfortunately, for people like me who don’t cook, it’s tragic.
Smoked Salmon Tartine was amazing!
Breakfast croissant was good too but my friend thought it was too greasy.
Didn't have wait on Tuesday afternoon.
Enjoyed it very much since I'm from sac 4 a bday trip 2 sf.nx time I will order another nice brkfst
At this time we decided to try something new, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
I was the first time here and we ordered Porchetta Sandwich and Smoked Salmon Tartine for a test. I didn't expect a lot, but they guessed all my preferences and realized them all. The meals are worth every penny for sure.
They did a great job. They even managed to decorate the cake with writing in Farsi. Delivered as promised. Tasted amazing
AMAZING
Since I wrote to them to make a reservation the service was amazing, the actually advise that due the pandemic only it is allowed to sit outside, we ordered a couple of things from the Manu everything was crazy, the scrambled eggs burger is from another word! And the smell of fresh bread while picking the products is an experience for the senses.
A staple of San Francisco. If getting nothing but some bread and a pastry, it would be worth the stop.
Amazing place they do some awesome work there if you have anything you need done on your vehicle liebes Auto body is the place to go
Breakfast:
The only thing I'd recommend going to this Tartine location is for the baked items - croissants, etc. And even then I've found the Tartine bakery near Dolores Park has a much broader selection of items to choose from. (Admittedly, the lines are longer.)
Lunch:
We live in the neighborhood, and ordered a chicken sandwich and pepperoni pizza to go. The sandwich had 3x the salt it should have had. Just made it plain inedible. While the pizza base was good given their baking prowess, the overall taste didn't compare well with some of the other shops in the area. On the whole, it doesn't deliver the experience you expect from the fancy vibe of the place.
Coffee:
Lastly, I think they could go a long way improving their coffees. I got a cold brew recently and it didn't taste right - way too acidic and monotone in flavor. Almost tasted like a burnt espresso shot with water and ice rather than a true cold brew. Other coffee preparations haven't amazed either.
A restaurant you must take the time to visit because it is easily one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. The best French toast I've ever had, as well as the best avocado toast I've ever had. The restaurant is pricey but you are definitely paying for the best! The croissants are to die for!
We had the French toast, croissant sandwich, bread pudding, tres leches cake, coffee, and latte.
Everything was delicious, best French toast and bread pudding I've ever had.
Staff was nice, food was ready quickly. Just initially had an hour wait time but was about 25 min
