Tasty Pizza, Escondido CA

My son and I stopped in tonight and ordered 3 pizzas (Hawaiian, pepperoni, and Mexican) and the cheese bread. All of it is absolutely wonderful. The Mexican pizza is even better than I expected, and with what's on it, I had high expectations. The man at the counter was very nice and patient with us as my son changed his mind a couple of times and made suggestions that covered everything we decided on.

As homestyle as I could imagine. It just has that natural taste, guest service and quick order experience. Definitely a top local!

I ordered a pizza with SAUSAGE AND PEPPERONI. What they gave me was a pizza with BACON and pepperoni. I noticed this after I picked up the pizza and went back to my truck.

I took the pizza back and told them it wasn't what I ordered.

Then they actually ARGUED with me about it and tried to tell me it IS what I ordered.

NO. I know what I ordered! I thought it would be an easy fix but it wasn't fixed at all. They basically just told me, "We messed up, too bad for you".

How this place is even still open for business is a surprise to me.

I don't really understand why I'm being given dirty looks from the people who work here. All I did was order a pizza. Why are they glaring at me? I came here to write a one-star review because I really disliked the unwarranted mean looks they were giving me. I don't understand it. I wasn't even mean to any of them. All I did was come in to pick up a pizza and they were looking at me like they wanted me dead or something. Why would you treat your customers this way?

Then I actually saw the response from the owner of this place to 1 star reviews left by customers.

Wow. Could the owner of this place be anymore of an unlikable human being? He's obviously a terrible person just judging by the comments and responses he leaves here.

I won't be coming here again. Pretty terrible experience. And the pizza wasn't very good either as it wasn't nearly cooked enough.

NOTICE HOW THE LAST 2 FIVE-STAR REVIEWS EACH CONTAIN 3 DIFFERENT PHOTOS OF 3 DIFFERENT PIZZAS.

So, what's the matter, Tasty Pizza? Your reputation is so tarnished because everyone hates you so much for your terrible treatment and ripoff of customers, that the owner of Tasty Pizza thought he would get some RELATIVES to post 3 different photos of 3 different pizzas? And you tried to make them look extra good, right? Next time you write fake reviews to make your business look good, try not to be so obvious.

In truth I was a customer here, and their pizza was ALWAYS undercooked and NEVER looks good. And the owner is well-known to be a terrible person who rips off customers.

Update 6 months later: OWNER IS STILL BULLYING ME. DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR SAFETY.

The guy working at the counter was nice, and the pizza was good (but VERY VERY greasy). My stomach did feel a little weird afterward from all the grease. They have no tables or chairs inside or outside, so food is only to-go. I think I'd only come back if the grease level toned down. Also, a younger male employee or boss was yelling at the older male employee directly in front of us about making a mistake, which was very rude and unprofessional. I do not support businesses that treat their employees badly.

Older gentlemen has always been very polite to me. Pizza and cheese bread are super good and family affordable.

This place is amazing. This is our go to. Crust is soft and doesn't end up hard or chewy. Flavor is spot on.

Honestly this place is a huge disappointment, i would come here often, sometimes more than once per week, my regular order was a pepperoni sausage pizza with extra sauce, as of recently I’ve learned that ive been charged for the extra sauce, and today i ordered 2 pizzas, one with pepperoni sausage and extra sauce, and the other with just pepperoni, in the recipe it says he charged me for a regular pepperoni pizza and a Hawaiian pizza, of which i went back to complain, the guy told me he charged me the Hawaiian pizza because of the extra toppings, of which i understand, but it doesn’t explain the extra 4 dollars i was being charged, his explanation wasn’t the best and i was already upset so i asked for my money back, of which i was denied so yea definitely wont be coming back

Look at how angry and defensive this owner gets whenever any customer puts up a 1 star review of the place. He'll basically attack you for criticizing his place. It's a pretty gross place too. They'll hand you the pizza while sweat is dripping down from all over their faces. Where do you think that sweat dripped down to BEFORE your pizza was put in the box? Also I agree with the other one star reviewers in general.

I DON'T CARE if Escondido has a large Mexican population, ESCONDIDO IS IN THE U. S. A, and we speak ENGLISH in this country!

I called "Tasty Pizza" tonight and tried to place an order for a large cheese pizza with tomatoes. The person who answered the phone had the NERVE to ask me if I speak any Spanish, because he couldn't understand my very simple order.

And just like that, I'm no longer a customer of this place, and I'm boycotting this place, and suggest you do the same.

I DON'T NEED TO SPEAK SPANISH TO PLACE AN ORDER, *YOU* ARE THE ONES WHO NEED TO SPEAK ENGLISH. THIS IS NOT MEXICO. Either learn English, OUR NATIONAL LANGUAGE, or GET OUT.

Best pizza I ever had when i was calling they said no but it was all a joke and then i went home a nutted too dreamy bull.

Love their pizza and such great prices! Also…. The ranch is BOMB. Would rather have this pizza than any other place around!

First time here and I must say it was pretty good pizza. Better than Little Ceasars pizza that has a cardboard taste to it. The guy who helped me was really chill. Prices are very reasonable. I'll be back to try out more stuff on their menu.
