It's OK to come to the park, you know, but you gotta watch out for the homeless people and. And drugs and alcohol, Certain homeless people will ask you for money and stuff like that

Tatum's Garden Playground in Salinas

This one of our favorite playgrounds to stop at when making the driving between Northern and Southern California. There are so many slides, climbing structures, swings, musical instruments, and it's farm themed with barns and houses to go into. Many of the areas are ADA accessible. There are restrooms at the playground and ample parking.

Watch out some of the one star reviews indicate that Tatum's Garden sometimes does not open. This is especially true when the next door neighbor the very popular Salinas Rodeo is hosting a huge event in it's stadium the parking lot is then reserved for the Rodeo and Tatum's Garden gets closed on some of those days unfortunately. I wish that they found a way to keep it open because there is still a little bit of parking that is not taken near the indoor pool at that time. This brave little ground squirrel in the pictures from neighboring Sherwood Park ventured into the garden begging for food and was promptly rewarded with nuts. Plenty of restrooms and parking spaces and the ice cream trucks with their gas generators running to give the freezers the power that they need

It's clean and safe. My grandson and friends enjoy this park. We celebrated my best friends son birthday

Really fun park for younger kids, and the focus on accessibility is wonderful! My niece enjoyed the learning centers demonstrating braille and ASL. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was the perfect amount of crowded — plenty of other kids to play with, but no long waits for swings or slides. There is no food or drink allowed, which is actually fantastic because it helps keep the park clean while giving a built-in time limit on how long kids will want to stay there. When they’re hungry/thirsty, it’s time to go!

My one warning/negative comment is that you should watch your step around some of the equipment — the play surface is beginning to deteriorate and there are some holes that would be easy to trip on and twist an ankle or something. Also, some of the rope on the climbers is unraveling, with the steel cabling underneath poking through. Hopefully they’ll get enough donations to repair those areas soon!

Very nice playground with bathrooms. My only complaint is that some of the rubber flooring was missing around play structures.

Came to this park because I've heard nothing but great things about it, and was a park on the list to visit. The idea of inclusiveness is great. For the most part it is debree free and safe, however, it is pretty rundown. The tube slide was missing part of the slide. There is only ONE baby/toddler swing. The safety belts on the "chair inclusive" swing was not functional/broken/dirty. Parts of the rubber pavement throughout the park was missing/with potholes. The restrooms were also pretty dirty. This was my first impression as it was my first time there, but I hope the city/whoever is in charge of maintaining it has some consideration in fixing it.

Stumbled across the gem in the heart of Salinas. Talk about a playground! Tatum’s Harden had something for children of all ages. We stayed an hour and didn’t see half of it! Our three year old fell in love with the plastic seated swings and the rocking horses. We stayed mainly in the ‘tot lot, ’ and could’ve easily remained for hours. Things to climb things to swing, things to slide, things to spin, things to touch, things to explore, things, things, THINGS!
