Teddy's By the Sea reviews
18Wonderful food, with lots of options including vegetarian. The waitstaff were courteous and engaging, and the ambience was classic/beachy. Great place!
Friendly servers. Lots of indoor or outdoor seating. Easy parking. Great food. Try the calamari, clam chowder and ceviche!
Food is always great but last time there was an obnoxious drunk there threatening violence towards women in his group. It finally de-escalated.
Cool vibe in the evening. Lots of indoor or outdoor seating. Easy parking. Fair prices. Try the clam chowder and ceviche!
The food here is great and has a really cute atmosphere. I highly recommend sitting outside! The fresh guacamole and fish tacos are amazing! 5 stars!
Cute place, great food, friendly service! Cole slaw and fish tacos needed a little salt, but my kids loved the spicy honey chicken sandwiches and the seared ahi with curry was delicious and beautifully prepared
Great food, I always order the linguini with clams.today's special was a halibut with risotto that looked fantastic.don't forget to order the house bread rolls.they come out hot in the skillet
Teddys by the sea is a great restaurant and has good food by all means. But one day I wanted to try the fish and chips and it truly was the worst thing I’ve ever had. The batter is so bland and comes off the fish so easily it’s simply soggy and nasty to the point I lost my appetite. In all honesty this place does have good food from what I’ve had before. But I do strongly recommend NOT getting the fish and chips.
Had the Saturday specials and they didn’t disappoint. The place was airy and clean. The service was wonderful. The servers were very lovely and attentive without being overbearing. My dog received so much love, treats and a nice fresh bowl of cool water. I had the spicy guava margarita sans tajin rim which was delicious. I would have had another if I weren’t driving. I don’t usually like margaritas but this one was to come back-for-good. The shrimp and corn bisque was light and flavorful. I could have had a whole bowl. The red snapper special had a creamy citrusy but not heavy sauce paired with a perfectly crispy risotto patty and asparagus. Thank you! I’ll be back for more.
My wife and I went there are New Year’s Eve and had the best seafood tacos we ever had in our lives. In addition, the seafood chowder was amazing and the Margarita was as it should be. The flan was not great and we gave it back. However, on the whole, this was an amazing meal and we will definitely be back. Kudos to this establishment!
Great place with tasty food in a lovely city!
Our second time visiting Carpinteria in a week and decided to try Teddy's by the beach after seeing some reviews.
Everything was great and Angela - our waitress was very helpful and attentive.
This was the best restaurant we ate at on our entire road trip from LA to Seattle. The food was just outstanding. We had the seared ahi tuna and the cioppino. Both delicious. The server recommended a great Sauv Blanc to go with our meal. The outside seating was perfect, with heaters and umbrellas. And the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended.
Food is good and service is okay. We like the fish tacos and recommend today’s special Halibut. The Ahi Poke Nachos is a good appetizer too.
The wife and I could not find a place to eat in Santa Barbra as a holiday was in motion, months back and so heading home to Orange County, we stopped at Carpinteria and saw Teddy's By The Sea, got to find a seat really fast and ordered Clam Chowder for myself and the wife Clams with Noodles. The food was great and the service was also great, the price was expected.
The house Cabernet was excellent. Calamari and clam chowder were great. We were able to get a table immediately on a Saturday night
Nice patio dining area. The Buffalo Chicken appetizer was delish. The Wild Salmon plate and hubby’s Chicken Sandwich with red peppers and arugula very tasty. And the Key Lime Pie dessert was fantastic! I highly recommend it. Just make sure your menu is up to date so there’s no surprises. Prices were different between our two menus.
We stayed in Carpenteria for a weekend and Teddy’s was amazing! We loved the outdoor heaters as it was pretty chilly when we were there. It was nice to still be able to eat outside and enjoy the fresh air. I ordered the salmon tacos and the soup that night was asparagus soup. They both were delicious! The drinks were great as well. I ordered a spicy mango margarita I believe was the flavor and it was delicious! In addition to all of this we had fast friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
What a fantastic find! Just driving randomly up the coast for a day trip brought us to this tasty spot. They have an excellent happy hour which we took full advantage of. Calamari, ceviche, fish tacos, oh my! A couple of cups of Clam Chowder and we were most satisfied. The service was excellent to boot. When in Carpinteria you gotta stop to quench your appetite and relax on their patio (weather permitting of course). Thanks, Teddy for the marvelous time!
