Tequila Grill reviews
16Music is too loud and have yell to get my order right, wait time was 35 minutes for the food, I rather go across the street to los pericos instead.
Great food and wonderful staff but they quit serving wine when the new management took over. I need wine to settle my stomach when I eat so I had to quit eating there. Shame, as the food is very good. They need to realize that not everyone drinks beer, margaritas, or cocktails and that there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants around that DO serve wine. So I eat at those instead.
My favorite San Leandro restaurant! Great drinks and great food but the service is what sets them apart. A must if you’re venturing for a new place to eat.
Food was cold and meat was burnt, vegetable wasn't crunchy.and thought we were homeless, still paid with a card.
PRO: Bar drinks were good, Salsa was bomb, fish tacos with hand made tortilla 7/10
CON: Food too overpriced for "authentic mexican", Camarones tasted very fishy. Michelada was too small.
I ordered online (Uber Eats) a Super Taco. I chose Grilled Chicken. I started to eat and discovered slice of ham looking meat on taco. Why was that in my Grilled Chicken. Didn’t expect that. Disappointed.
This place was a pleasant surprise. I've passed it many times and finally decided to try it out with my wife and it was much better than we expected.
The service was top notch. All staff members were attentive, they checked in regularly to see how things were going and made some good recommendations on the food choices. We had a couple of margaritas (which were solid), I tried the tequila burrito with carne asada and my wife got the combination fajitas. When the server described the burrito, I wasn't sold, but I am glad I tried it, delicious. My wife enjoyed the fajitas as well, she admitted they weren't the best combo fajitas that she's had in San Leandro, but she was not disappointed with her choice.
The only thing that threw us was the ambiance. We loved the vibe by the bar it was warm and inviting, but the other half of the restaurant has white lighting which contrasts and gives more of a colder/plain vibe. It was my first time seeing dual lighting in the same space, but it is what it is. I'd still come back (to the warm side by the bar).
Food: 4.6/5
Service: 5/5
Price: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 4/5
Overall: ~4.5/5
New ownership means much higher prices. Also, they did away with a lot of their old menu items.
Came here a few times no problems at all they usually have the games on. Nice bar area. Food is awesome. Waiters are wonderful sweet and kind. Bathrooms are nice and clean and big enough for me. Hey I'm a huge guy myself.
A+ service. Food. Atmosphere. Hidden gem in San Leandro.
Went for a couple.of drinks with friends after work
We had a good time. Great service and drinks.
Would come back
I tried this place a couple of times. I usually get fish tacos. They are very tasty. But everything else what I tried was terrible. Last time I got fried calamari, it was basically hard oily bread crumbles and tasted like old fried oil.
Fabulous range of interesting margaritas (and a HUGE range of tequilas and mezcals!). Best mole sauce I've ever had. Entree portion sizes are generous (we were forewarned so we skipped appetizers - but I think this would be a good place for just cocktails and appetizers!). Will definitely go back there!
All the employees were nice especially the girls and the tostada w/ ground beef and they have a tons of selection of aged tequila on hand.
Great local and modern Mexican spot with deep roots in town. Food was fresh and cocktails were excellent!
ETA in 2022. I still come to Tequila grill and eat and drink. I ordered an Old fashion drink the Rockerfeller Oyesters and it was delicious. The food is delicious. Especially the ceviche and guacamole. The mango margaritas are yummy.
The best ever and the staff are friendly. You will noy be disappointed. Good food and drinks.
