Terrena Apartment Homes, Northridge CA

My wife and I came here to do a tour of the apartments since this was one of the places we like. I made an appointment online and showed up early. I was able to find parking because they do not have a lot of parking spots here that I know of. Our leasing consultant was Laura and she was very helpful. She answered all my questions, went through the process of everything and showed us the different rooms that we were interested in. This apartment complex is nice, they have nice amenities like bbq grill, lounge, fitness, zumba and more. We like the layout of the 2 bed, 2 bath and 1 office room because of the open island in the kitchen. There also a garden here as well that she told us you can pick stuff from.

Love my new home! Laura made me feel so welcomed and assisted with everything I needed. I’m super excited to be part of this community and to experience all amazing amenities it has to offer.

Laura, Brittney, and Katie are amazing! They are part of the reason that we have decided to extend our lease for another year. The complex is beautiful, affordable, and pet friendly with great amenities. I would suggest this apartment building to others.

Move in was smooth and easy. Laura was incredibly easy to work with and helped make this a painless experience. I have an issue with my washer and dryer on the first day but the maintenance team was incredible at getting it addressed quickly. It showed me that this is building has there stuff together here and do care about making sure the residents have a pleasant experience. Brittney has also been a rockstar with helping me and being an advocate for the residents. She is helpful and goes above and beyond. Her and Laura make a great team here. Can’t recommend this place enough!

My washer and dryer is not working for more than a week and the maintanance have not showed up yet even after making repeated complains and multiple visit to leasing office. Only the gardens and pools in these buildings look good.

So far so good as its been 2 months here for my husband and my 2 small kids. The property is rather large compared to the other ones we have lived at the last few years but its nicely spread out without feeling like a maze. The management is very much on top of everything so we have no complaints. The staff in the office is very friendly and we love Geeta, the property manager since she is always attentive and aware of what's happening there. Our apartment is in great condition and the space has been enough for us, especially, with two small children. Overall, we recommend Terrena apartments based on the actual apartment, the management, and the location!

We have been here six years. The past year has seen a marked reduction in consideration.in resident comfort. It has been VERY difficult to reach any staff. The office phone i usually unanswered and messages ignored. Managements seems more interested in issuing new policies than keeping the infrastructure working, Call boxes break and take days to fix meaning no deliveries, no visitors. Elevators break and take weeks to fix.

Gerson, Katie, and Jonathan took care of us! We are super grateful on their willingness and their courtesy. Super kind and positive attitude.

Terrena offers so many amenities for a great price. It has everything you need plus more. Two sea salt pools, a 24- hour gym, a study area for students and great management (Laura, Brittany & Kyle).

We lived in the perfect quiet corner, 1010.

The maintance guys and cleaning staff are exceptional 10/10.

It was a hard decision to leave but our jobs take us to the South Bay.

Enjoy the complex because it’s a really great community.

Don’t be fooled by the “positive” reviews. They are all from new people that just moved in. The gym has been outdated and been promised improvements that never get fulfilled. The pool area tends to get a homeless person bathing themselves not a sight my daughters or my nieces need to see. At night time there’s homeless people who wander around smoking something that doesn’t even smell like weed or cigarettes. At night time; random hours the FIRE ALARMS WILL GO OFF. Management have no control of the situation and will turn a blind eye. Aside from the burglaries, the car thefts, the vandalism to cars. It has NOT been a positive experience. Been here for 3 years going on 4. I only stayed because I stayed hopeful they will fulfill promises of change and been patient. No change has been made other than getting new key fob. Elevators are still broken.

I pay A TON OF MONEY a month in rent only to endure the blaring fire alarms every night? This once decent place has now deteriorated into what can only be described as a ghetto. Dog owners let their dogs off a leash, allowing them to jump on unsuspecting residents. To make matters worse, homeless individuals are now using the pool area as a sleeping spot. I used to feel secure here, but now I'm eagerly awaiting the end of my lease to escape this unacceptable environment. The positive reviews are likely made up, as people seem to be incentivized with gift cards to write them. I've had enough of this place.

Every single night in the middle of the night the fire alarms go off. Nothing is being done about it if there was ever a fire no one would think anything of the alarm going off cause it goes off every single day and it would be very dangerous.

After nearly two years of residing here, I find myself increasingly remorseful about my decision to move here. The situation has become unbearable, as the fire alarm blares at least 10 times a week, even as late as 3 AM. In response, the management sends emails filled with excuses, but no effective solutions. The grounds are littered with dog waste, and the trash chute on the first floor is consistently overflowing, leading residents to leave their garbage on the ground, which attracts numerous flies. Given the current circumstances, I strongly advise against rushing to secure a unit here. With the same budget, you can undoubtedly find a much more suitable place in the same area.

Overall nice community with good amenities and staff. The reason for 1star review is mainly for the fact that the fire alarm goes off multiple times- on an average about 2-3 times per week. Mostly at night when sleeping and then cannot fall asleep. Especially for those with small kids or people with insomnia - this is concerning. Also nobody vacates the premises when the fireAlarm goes off since this is such a routine thing. I hope tenants are able to figure out emergency from routine alarm. I hope management takes some action to fix this.

**IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO MOVE HERE, READ THIS FIRST & I BEG YOU, DO YOUR RESEARCH! **

1 Star. I’m writing this review because I told myself the next time I’m faced with this issue I will. I’ve been living at the TERRENA for almost a year now & while it’s visually a beautiful place with amenities including a pool & garden there’s also one more amenity they will not tell you about. THE FIRE ALARM! Since living here, we’ve experienced 80+ FALSE fire alarms. Which is not an exaggeration. The fire alarm sounds off every single week, sometimes 3 times in one day. Today (9/30/23) the fire alarm sounded at 3: 20AM startling myself, my wife & my cat. DO NOT move here if you (like myself) have PTSD, are elderly or have small children as this can be hazardous to anyone alike. Be advised that the management team will work with you to get you in here to secure that new tenant, however they will not be transparent with you. So aside from the multiple car thefts/break ins that have taken place here. You’ll sleep like baby knowing you’ll be woken up any minute in a complete & total panic. Situations like this dissolve trust between tenants & management. There’s no way of knowing when you’re in actual danger or if it’s just a “false alarm”. I understand management can only do but so much, but this truly reflects poorly on the building’s owner/management team unfortunately.

I’d like to add that a comment response will not resolve this issue. The only response needed is to FIX THE ISSUE.

I will be calling the fire marshal in a few hours.

We’ve been searching for apartments for months and when we came to Terrena it was a different feeling. We felt right at home, especially after meeting Laura de Leon. She was very accommodating, knowledgeable and seemed to never tire with our endless questions and requests. She was always responsive and on top of everything from the initial apartment tour to our move in day. Thank you, Laura! We appreciate all your assistance and making everything less stressful.

So I've moved out and I have to say that it was a tough decision to make. I have LOVED living at the Terrena Apartments. I was there for almost 4 years and as you can tell by my earlier reviews I think this place is great! Everyone that works here is really cool, like legit. From Kyle and Britney in the management team, to Eddie and the maintenance guys and ESPECIALLY Tad and Angle from the security crew. They are warm and welcoming guys that really make you feel good about the people that are policing the area and they really helped to make it feel like a safe and warm community, which I really appreciate. I've also met a lot of cool people that live there and the energy there just feels good. They are updated spacious apartments with beautiful gardens and communal areas AND a large dog walk with real grass.not like other places that offer fake grass or just dirt. On Tuesdays they have a food truck at the apartments and on Wednesdays there is a farmers market at the Northridge mall right next door. And yes not everything is great, some people have tacky door mats.you know who you are.lol just kidding-kinda.

I'm not sure what else to say because I've already said it in my earlier reviews. I highly recommend living here.

I moved here in March of 2020, and I’ve really enjoyed living here. All of the employees and staff that I have met are pretty great and will try their best to help you with what you need. There are lots of shops and restaurants right outside and it makes food options very easy. As a bonus, every Tuesday a food truck comes here so you don’t need to go very far at all. Another bonus are the views, my apartment faces the west so I get the setting Sun, and the sunsets are breath taking. The neighbors are pretty nice to, and I’ve never had to complain about noise. Living here has felt easy and I would highly recommend it to anyone

All of the maintenance crew is awesome. They’re usually prompt and are very courteous and mindful of your space and they make sure to double check everything so that it in fact is working. Today Gerson and Jonathan H, helped me out. The folks in the leasing office have also been really helpful and courteous as well. Thanks everyone.

Does not feel safe living here.
Fire alarms go off in the middle of the night, early morning scaring my small child weekly. We’ve experienced a burglary and auto theft while living here. While this place is nice, management failing to address or correct these issues is unacceptable. This includes 2 swat lock downs, 1 shooting and numerous sketchy/homeless people trying to enter or follow us inside. A huge bummer as we’ve lived here years and lately it’s bad again.

The complex was experiencing an outbreak of Fire Alarms going off over the last two weeks. However the staff here was able to find the culprit that was pulling the fire alarms and reassured us that they are very diligent any time the alarm goes off, and they complete a full sweep of the complex to ensure there is no danger present.
