The Bagel Factory reviews
16 Disclaimer: As a jew who just moved here after living in NYC for 10 years, my bagel standards may be higher than most.
The bagels here (i had WholeWheat ET & Blueberry) are fine, but inferior to most shops back home. They have a bit grittier, drier feel. Maybe the water?
Also be aware these guys are fully kosher, and do not serve meat - no BEC here! The only cheese they have for your egg & cheese is mozzarella.
They do have all sorts of smoked fish and schmear (cream cheese)
I would be back to try their tuna on a bagel, and the pizza bagel looked interesting as well.
Otherwise, if you are seeking quality NYC-style bagels, i would keep searching.
I’ll start with the bagels and the quality of the bagels. If it was just the bagels this place would be a 10 star the bagels are phenomenal the people that prepare the bagels do a great job of preparing the bagels. I realize that this is LA and I’ll never get the customer service like New York. But could you at least give me the cream cheese that I asked for? I know it’s a stretch and I know maybe you smoke too much weed this morning but just try to put the right cream cheese on my bagel. Thank you. It turns out that I really do like jalapeño cream cheese quite a bit, so it wasn’t a total loss except for your business. And it’s great advice I will take your advice and get a double smoked bacon at Starbucks instead. Thank you for the recommendation.
Love the Bagel Factory! Great, fresh bagels (nutrition bars are my favorite) and they make soup fresh every day!
There was a fly in my food the first time I went there, so I’m kind of nervous to go back. Lol
Really good food, though! I got a really interesting flavor of bagel that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before: tomato basil. Also got some cream cheese that was super good.
I think I got a salad with tuna and a whole bunch of other toppings, which was really good…til I got to the fly!
Still, really good value, and really good flavor!
Thanks!
Incredibly friendly and helpful!
Clean atmosphere
Bagels were toasted perfectly and had the right amount of cream cheese
Highly recommend!
Love that they use coffee ice cubes in their iced coffee. Skip Starbucks next door - come here! It’s the little details that count!
This place was recommended by a friend but it turned out to be quite disappointing. First of all, it’s really disorganized, staff wasn’t very good at facilitating costumers’ orders or making the bagels quickly. Secondly, the place is really dirty. There are food crumble everywhere on the floor, and that’s even when there’s no sit-down at the shop. They need to care about sanitation more.
I used to love their split pea soup. It was really good. Now however, the soup was watered down and had no taste. Very disappointing. The bagels are still good. They just need to go back to the way they used to make soup.
The bagels are really good with plenty of options. The lox sandwich did not have enough fish on it. Staff is a bit disorganized and the restaurant floor could use a sweep.
The bagels are great! They have a wide selection and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend the egg salad sandwich on an everything bagel.
Best bagels on the west side. I have to mark this place down one due to an equipment issue they haven't resolved. For months now, their toaster has been burning the bagels. (I was in the shop when it broke down at one point.) I like my bagel toasted with cream cheese; unfortunately, the last dozen or so times I've gone, it has char-burnt with cream cheese. I don't care for charcoal with my breakfast. I still walk by there often, but until I see a new machine, I won't be stopping in. It's a real bummer too, because I love their bagels.
Excellent service. Generous parking & indoor/outdoor seating in a busy area. Solid cream cheese ratio on the bagel but there is 0 trace of any salmon in the lox spread. For the price I’m not really complaining & I’m sure these people sell coffee but Starbucks is next door so that’s a great way to start your morning.
Very basic Bagel place. They have that regular sandwiches but nothing unusual or special. I would not go out of my way for this place.
Great bagels made in house. All kosher. Perfectly crafted bagel sandwiches available along with coffee and various cold beverages.
Very concerning, doesn’t check for COVID-19 Vaccination cards. Also staff is so rude they gave me attitude instead of greeting. Don’t recommend
Over the years, I keep giving the place a chance because I enjoy the product, however, staff (in particular the ladies) profile the customers whether greet them or not, as well as the quality of service. I have only received excellent service from the male staff member. It'll pass another year before I consider to go back for another bagel & cream cheese.
