The Barns at Cooper Molera, Monterey CA

This a really cool venue I attended a dinner here and it was very nice if you are looking for a cool place to hold your own event this would be the place

I’m giving 5 stars because by the day of the wedding, everything was PERFECT. There were some small issues along the way, so a 4.8 may be realistic, but there’s more details below.

The Pros:
- Beautiful venue in a perfect location
- The team is super experienced with weddings and our coordinator gave a lot of great guidance on timeline, decor, etc.
- They have great vendor relationships. They gave us a list of recommended vendors and we ended up only using people they preferred. They were all fantastic and had experience at the Barns, so we didn’t have to give a ton of guidance.
- The venue coordinators takes great care of the bride and groom on the wedding day. They brought appetizers and drinks to us during pictures, made sure we got a full plate of food during dinner, and were overall amazing without being overbearing.
- Everyone was incredibly complimentary of the food and drinks.

The Cons:
- When we went to our initial food tasting the food was really really bad (lukewarm, no flavor, etc). Apparently there was an issue in the kitchen that day and we ended up doing a second tasting that went much better. Everything turned out great, but we were pretty stressed about the food after the first tasting.
- There are a lot of potential add ons when it comes to food, decor rental, etc. Be really careful to fully understand the additional cost. There were a few times I realized my estimates and my coordinator’s estimates were off. If I hadn’t been keeping an eye on this, we probably would have overpaid on accident.
- During the planning process, our coordinator was really busy. I could tell she did her best to reply promptly and answer all my questions, but there were times I felt like we were miscommunicating by sending emails every 3-4 days rather than talking on the phone. If it’s possible, I’d recommend scheduling a monthly check in for 15-20 min instead of emailing.

Overall, amazing experience. My husband and I both agreed there wasn’t one thing we would have changed about our wedding day. If you’re looking to get married in the Monterey area, this is the place to do it!

Great venue! We were there for a wedding. Charlene was an amazing coordinator. She & her staff were a well oiled machine!

This venue is incredible. On top of that, the staff is AMAZING. Amanda and Tina were easy to work with, understood my vision and executed it to the highest degree. I held a school Gala here and it truly was a magical night. THANK YOU to all the staff here!

Beautiful venue for our wedding in October. While there were a bit of difficulty getting responses from our venue coordinator leading up to the day, it’s definitely because they work their butts off! We got several compliments on how good the food was (and that was our top priority) so don’t you worry about how the food will be. It’s centrally located in Monterey downtown, so it was accessible to get last minute things done, and plenty of things for the guests to do around the area! Would definitely get married again at Barns 10/10!

I photographed a wedding at this venue in October 2022 and can't say enough amazing things about my working experience here. The barn itself is beautiful and rustic and the actual space has plenty of room to accommodate a large wedding, yet the "enclosed" area can still make it feel intimate, the best of both worlds! Definitely a really cool location tucked in the heart of downtown Monterey

This was the best venue ever! Choosing this space to have our wedding was easily the best decision we made throughout the whole planning process. The vibes were perfect! You would never guess these beautiful barns, gardens and the outdoor area would be right in downtown Monterey! It was so convenient— we didn’t have to worry about shuttles or transportation, as the majority of our guests were staying in hotels that are a 5 minute walk from the venue! We received so many compliments on this space and everyone had an absolute blast!

The food and drinks were phenomenal! Having the catering on-site made our lives so easy and our guests loved the food! We really enjoyed coming to the venue before the wedding to try out the main courses, appetizers, and drinks ahead of time, so that we could choose our favorites. The tri-tip was a big hit!

We worked with Susan and I cannot say enough kind words about her. She was so great, flexible, accommodating and caring throughout the planning process, but especially the last two weeks when lots of little decisions need to be made. Thank you so much again, Susan!

After seeing many venues we found the Barns at Cooper Molera and fell in love! We originally did not want a barn, but the combination of the barn with the historic adobe buildings and the location so close to downtown, it was truly the perfect venue. They were super easy to work with and very detail oriented. Susan was on top of all the details and made the day completely stress fee and effortless. They worked with my vendors directly and the whole wedding day exceeded expectations. The team there is so kind and fun to work with. Absolutely loved everything about our experience!

We were here for a wedding and really enjoyed the layout. Nice amount of green, good lighting, and a very cozy atmosphere. Overall had a great time and the venue was really a nice little tucked away spot. Also close to a bunch of food and shops so there's a lot to do right around.
