The Bay Club Hotel & Marina, San Diego CA

This place was a great find. Very quiet. Kind staff. Right across from the harbor with a walkable paved path. Easily walkable to restaurants around shelter island. I felt safe as a single girl staying her by myself.

Loved this awesome hotel with a big room and cool patio! The pool and hot tub were so cool!

Stayed here 2 nights to attend a memorial. It was adequate. Pros-view once we changed our room from what was described as a marina view but was actually a partial parking lot view with a marina view if you looked to the right. Restaurant was good. Staff was great. Cons-definitely needs updating. Chrome in bathroom was rusted.tiles were cracked. The microwave and coffee maker were on the bathroom counter which was weird. There is adequate room outside the bathroom area for a coffee/microwave station. Walls were paper thin. I could hear the next door TV and occupant snoring all night. Also $18 a day parking fee.

I had a wonderful experience at The Bay Club hotel & marina. This is the first time we stayed in this hotel. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, Thank you all for that! The room was wonderful, kid’s friendly and there’s a tv, small fridge, microwave & a coffee maker in the room. Overall, we had a great experience with incredibly helpful staff and the great amenities. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting SD.

Took a family trip (2 adults, 2 kids) and stayed on the marina side. Nice sunset view from the balcony. Minimal wait times at the front desk. You can walk to the beach. It's a quiet area, easy access to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Joshua the manager is no help and needs to learn the meaning of what you can do for a customer. If you want to be degraded and profiled. Super unpleasant and unprofessional staff.
Go to Humphreys half moon not here!

After swapping out of the triangle shaped room into a regular rectangular room the only complaint I have is the 18 usd parking per night! Not cool!

First the Pros: Spacious modern looking rooms
Amazing views of the bay with 2 porches. Friendly staff.

Cons: One of my blankets was stained with some sort of Pink substance. The mattress sagged to the middle and the pillows were really old. $14 Parking fee, no free breakfast.

I stayed for two nights and enjoyed my time here. The marina view from my balcony was lovely and so peaceful. The staff were helpful and gave me some good local information. The room was clean and overall was well-maintained, it would’ve been good to have a higher shower for those of us who are taller.

Unfortunately the noise proofing is not great to the corridor outside the room and I was near the restaurant. Thankfully I was so tired on my first night that this wasn’t an issue, but it was a bit annoying on the second night. The curtain pull unceremoniously fell off at 4am on my second night which was a bit alarming!

Room is nice parking is nice outside bit worn down outdated for surrounding hotel commodities. Moldy cold hotub was disappointing. Would recommend any other hotel on shelter island stayed at them all.

Impressed. Really good location, service from all the staff always great Cross the street and you have a nice view to the bay and big buildings. More than I was expecting.

Really pretty, walkable location. Clean, comfortable, modern rooms. Wish they had an airport shuttle and that we'd had time to try the restaurant for dinner, but breakfast was delicious.

Here overnight while changing planes. Surprisingly thin walls - heard snoring and folks upstairs walking to bathroom. Otherwise, gorgeous location, nice restaurant, lovely rooms, clean & well maintained. Big plus - outside, noisy navy helicopters, inside quiet.

It's such a great spot! The customer service is amazing! Especially, Jody! She is AWESOME! The rooms are dated, but I think it's a bit appealing. I love nostalgia. I will definitely be back!

Consistently one of the best hotels I have ever been in, they are always clean and always accommodating, and even their restaurant is decently affordable. The views for the price can't be beat, the parking is really really good and an affordable price as well, and thank goodness, there's no ridiculous resort fee! I love this place, I could stare out the window from the hotel all day long. We come here for the holidays, started making our own traditions, and even bring our own Christmas tree into the hotel room. They are spacious, clean, and overall lovely. I literally can't think of any hotel I have ever stayed in more than maybe twice? I think over the years I have stayed here at least five or six times, and they are always fantastic.

Not worth the rate you pay. Add on $18 a parking. Housekeeping on request.
The pictures on the website and other booking sites look many times better than in real life.
The whole hotel is poorly maintained.

Very nice, comfortable and friendly place. Great location and easy walking distance to the nice seafood restaurants. Special thanks to Kadijat from the guest service. She showed to us couple options with the rooms, did very early check in and explained about surrounding area. Thank you Kadijat!
