The Cakery reviews
8Hi everyone this is amazing place was nice experience for us i made a order for birthday cake, absolutely i can recommend
Ordered a custom lambeth cake for my daughter’s Friday 13th wedding. Turned out beautiful! The attention to details and piping was amazing. The devils cake and buttercream was so delicious and the cake was very moist. The thin multi layers was breathtaking when the couple cut the cake. Highly recommend this bakery.
I consider myself a baked goods aficionado and I am absolutely in awe of the caramelo cake that I had here. It might be the best treat I’ve had this summer. This place deserves more stars!
We have used the cakery for our wedding as well as our sons’ birthdays and baptisms. We don’t live in the area but come up to the bay for a lot of our events and they have always managed to perfectly execute what we wanted with just phone calls and e-mails. The latest was a cake for our sons baptism and I am still getting messages from people commenting on how beautiful and delicious it was! From construction sites to elegance, they can do it all! Highly recommend the apricot preserve with apricot buttercream in a vanilla sponge and devils foodcake with rasberry truffle!
I ordered a custom birthday cake from this bakery. They were very responsive and helpful. I basically sent them images of the cake I wanted from Pinterest and they were able to replicate it beautifully. The cake itself was delicious. I found the price to be very cost-effective for a custom cake that included exquisite artistry.
The cakes and sandwiches are good but the service, 2 thumbs down! We felt rushed right from the start and were told that they will start stacking up chairs in 20 minutes because they close at 7PM-it was only 6: 10PM. They had no utensils, the coffee machine was down, so no coffee, no hot water for tea. They can close for good and I don't think people will miss them. There are many other bakeshops and restaurants offering better food and service in the area.
I'll preface this with that my review is specifically for the tiramisu. The people working there are fine (although the workers ignored me for a minute despite there being no other customers around), the interior is clean and nicely decorated, and the rest of their goods may very well be good.but since I've only ordered the tiramisu that's all I can base this on.
Their tiramisu is not tiramisu. If you've had authentic tiramisu before you'll notice immediately that what they are selling is more like simple chocolate cake with some flavorless mousse and a dusting of cocoa powder.
There's no hint of mascarpone, espresso (ironically a few coffee beans adorn the top, though), amaretto, or any ladyfingers used in the layering. It's an eternal struggle of mine to roll the dice at any restaurant or bakery and hope that I get lucky and actually get authentic-tasting tiramisu.more often than not, I am disappointed.
So I am simply leaving this review for any other prospective tiramisu-seekers out there. Take heed, you will not find the tiramisu that you seek here.
