The Cheese Steak Shop reviews
18I use to love this place you go there get a coupon they stamp everytime u go and on certain day get two stamps so u can get a free sandwich but now it's new owners there so they don't do it. Also no parking there so that can be tough if u wanna eat there. I usually just order to go and prices are up everywhere
This place will not let you order a kids' meal unless you order a regular meal. I swear their sandwich shrink in size because the half was only 2in long. I will never go back there ever again.
Restaurant is usually understaffed putting extra stress on the consistent staff that is there. A few workers are diligent and mindful, others aren’t. Without notice, this location requires a minimum purchase of a separate sandwich in order to purchase a children's meal which isn’t required at any other cheese steak location. No explanation. Just new policy. Not sure how that can be enforced without it being an issue. Bathroom is usually filthy 3 out of the 7 business days they do operate. If it wasn’t for it being the only cheese steak franchise location in the area, I wouldn’t spend my money here.
Visiting San Francisco and this place disappoint. I was greeted as soon as I approached the counter. I ordered a half of Motown Philly with sweet peppers and hot peppers and the curly fries. Sandwich was hot and juicy and cheesy and flavorful. The curly fries were yummy also. If I ever return to San Francisco I will come here again
Is this SFGiant 3rd Base Coach Tim Flannery’s restaurant? I saw the commercial with him, Manager Bruce Bouchy and Bench Coach Ron Wotus?
Normally 5 stars. This particular time the cheese tasted weird. Hopefully not a reoccurring situation.
THE cheesesteak place. Dont go elsewhere. Its top notch-the buns are soft, the steak is cheesey.every other cheesesteak place ive tried in the bay has disappointed in comparison.
If you really wanna blow your mind, ask for extra cheese. Nirvana:)
Pretty good philly cheese steak sandwich. They're a little slow but wasn't on a time schedule
Tbis little shop has by far the best cheesesteak sandwiches in the country. If you are ever in Sanfrancisco this is a must stop!
Cheese steak was good, not very great though. The condiments like peppers and sauce seemed very meagre. Compare to more authentic ones.
Staff didn't seem too interested in taking my order looks like their prep was more important than cooking for customers that are coming in to eat lunch.
This is a tiny little fast food restaurant, and it's pretty good if you're in the mood for greasy, cheesy, bar-style food made fast and affordably. I got the chicken tenders and sweet potato fries, which were both really fantastic as far as basics go. Both were hot and freshly made. Better than average by far. My friend got cheesesteak fries which had hot peppers on top, and he would skip those next time, but they were definitely hot and delicious. Very enjoyable experience overall. We really enjoyed it, the food was well worth the money, and the facilities were clean and well stocked.
Brings back memories. Been going here since the late 90’s. Some new modern decor but kept some of, the history of San Francisco art up. Nothing has changed with the food, still very much delicious! Enjoy and don’t forget to TIP the cooks.
This is THE best in the city and it's not even close. Don't waste your time or money elsewhere. I reccomend the King of Philly for the right portion if you're a heavy eater like myself.
Walked in said “Hello! ” to the lady wiping the tables down. Ignored. (Fine!) Walked up to the cashiers desk. I waited 2 minutes. Four employees standing around. No customers in the shop at all. Nobody greeted me. One employee behind the register stacking cheese with wax paper on a dusty dirty counter. Same guy put his hands inside his pocket while stacking the cheese with same gloves on. Finally, I turned around to leave and someone says “Hey! Would you like to order? ” I said “No thanks! ” and walked out the door. This location has changed so much. I never experienced terrible customer service until the rebranding. This location needs to do better at greeting customers. Also, I’m sure the cheese behind the counter is a health code violation. Will not eat here.
This Cheese Steak Shop rocks! The sandwiches are bursting with flavor and the melted cheese adds to the creaminess of this really meaty sandwich. Its a must try on Divisadero St. My wife and I shared the king with mushrooms and peppers.
The staff are really nice also!
I thought the prices were very fair. The sandwich tasted great. I might have liked it a little better had the steak been in strips instead of the steak ground.
On a good note, this would be very easy for an elderly person to eat and digest.
