The Cheese Steak Shop, Larkspur CA

Best cheessteak in Marin.until today 4/7/22. Ordered 2 philly steaks both where dry with no almost no cheese

It's a mediocre sandwich shop. It's good I'd you want a quick bite. It's nothing fancy.

It's really 4 out of 4 stars. I won't give the last star because it's a chain but I really like their Philly. Good steak fries. It's grab n' go so no atmosphere.

This location had top notch staff. Not sure of cashiers name, but he was a Caucasian gentleman with long blondish hair, hope this vague description give him internal recognition. Immediate welcome on arrival. Great suggestive selling, non pushy, and authentic. Verified order. When not cashiering he was prebussing and bussing tables.

Kitchen staff was professional and polite.

Never had a bad sandwich from any other locations either.

Not locations problem, more corporate.drink cups, especially for to go orders are underwhelming in size for price. Fine if you are in restaurant and wanting to refill. Kinda lame if on road or home.

Kevin what a nice guy! Dude took the guys order in front of me in line. Then cleaned everything and took out orders. Such a friendly guy 20/10 service. Never once had a bad meal ever there. Not once.

This place has a Fabolous cheese steak at a reasonable price. It is usually busy but they work fast 15 minutes is the waiting to get your food. French fries are delicious, perfect for take out, sitting area is very small.

Disgustingly dirty. The young Mexican cashier does not speak English. The walls are filthy, the floor is filthy. The trash bin is overflowing onto the floor. The front entrance has food on the didewalks. There was a line the the door in the past, I see why it was empty tonight. I loved the place years ago, but I will never go back until they steam clean the inside and outside area. The owner must be nlind!

Ordered over the phone it was quick and to the point. I liked that. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and the employee that rung me out was pleasant.

Menu says hoagie comes with lettuce and tomatoes. I asked for everything but didn't get either (just got onions and sweet peppers). Very small sandwich (I got the half size, but still). Not a lot of cheese on the "Philly Cheesesteak. " The curly fries were good though. Great advertising; But I could make a better sandwich at home. Nice customer service.

I can only give this place 4 STARS because the SOUTH PHILLY Cheese steak I ordered seemed to lack the FIXINGS, especially the CHEESE that makes the sandwich a True PHILLY CHEESE STEAK. I was stationed in PHILADELPHIA at the old NAVY SHIPYARD in South Philly in The 80s and used to get my Cheese steaks and STROMBOLIS on OREGON ave from a place called RALPH & RICKY'S. Now those were CHEESE STEAKS. Whenever The DODGERS came to play The PHILLIES, TOMMY LaSORTA would eat there.

We wanted so badly for this place to be amazing.
Ordered a cheese steak (the meat was burnt)
The best thing was the roll (amaroso)
Also had a salad, was suppose to have sautéed onions and mushrooms and sweet peppers.
I sautéed the mushrooms myself as they had a bunch of fresh mushrooms on the salad.
No onions and no sweet peppers.

Not the best.maybe it was just the night.
Will explore other places before coming back here.

Being from the Philly area we can be a little snobbish when it comes to a cheese steak.
However, the add claims they make a Philly steak.
Wrong and not even close.
The roll was right!

A small store next to a laundry mat in Larkspur CA. The service was fast as there were few other customers and the sandwich, a classic philly with peppers and mushrooms, was quite good as were the steak fries. I've had better philly's on the East coast, but that is to be expected. I liked it enough that I would try them again.

Absolutely "amazing" cheese steaks. If you're in the SF Area and you haven't eaten here, you're missing out.
