The City Fish, Cupertino CA

I'm pretty torn about this review. We might have gone on and off day but their clam chowder which has gone to almost $18 a quart was flavorless had flour chunks and very little clams or potatoes or anything else in it. The fries while well flavored were inconsistently distributed between the orders.

We asked for malt vinegar and tartar sauce for the takeout order but had to double check again before we left the restaurant to make sure they put it in which they didn't.

Sarah fish and chips are still spot on for the fish part and the crab sandwich was actually very good in our first time trying it. If you come to City fish stick to the fish and chips or maybe the crab sandwich and nothing else.

It's a quaint place with great service and a lovely atmosphere. Portion sizes are hearty and set at a decent price. I had a combo platter with clam chowder and fish and chips while my friend had the fried scallops and fish and chips. If you're looking for comfort food and seafood, it's definitely worth the visit.

Very casual neighborhood restaurant. Large portions at reasonable prices, what's not to like? !
The deep fried seafood items are not tempura style as stated in the menu. It's just a simple crispy batter.
Overall, it's not bad. I would go there when I just want to have a fatty meal. It's not a place for any occasion.
I would skip the lobster roll. The lobster flavor is a bit too intense and there isn't much of anything else in terms of flavor.
The clam chowder tastes great, but clams are nearly non-existent.

1st time visit today Oct 14th. My mother and enjoyed the fish and chips. Good portion, right price. Caesar is simple and good. Friendly service. Allows dogs outside.

I am so impressed. We stopped at this unassuming local spot after a hike in the Cupertino area, and this place deserves every good review it gets. The fish was perfectly crunchy and had an excellent flavor thanks to a well seasoned batter. The chips (upgraded to garlic fries) were also crispy and well seasoned with just the right amount of garlic. Staff were very friendly and attentive! Will definitely stop again.

City fish in Cupertino is our go-to for local lobster rolls in South Bay. They are GENEROUS when it comes to portions and I can usually get two meals out of it (and I’m a big eater.) You can get it cold/mayo style or warm and buttered. They have great side choices included in the price. Highly recommend. Cupertino has great parking and quick takeout.

I loved the fries, however I have less than stellar things to say about everything else. I got the boneless chicken breast to go that came with a side of fries and coleslaw. Somehow, the chicken had no amount of salt added to it which is such a shame as I felt that it was cooked pretty well with a slight sear on the outside and a really tender texture. Just really disappointed that 90% of the flavor of this dish came from the side of fries. I understand that chicken isn’t really their specialty but the lack of seasoning is rather appealing nevertheless. Otherwise if you are keen for some really nice fries, they are awesome even after takeout and not warm

Oh we loved our visit. 11 of us loved the taste and their portion was lot. I hope they don't change. It was our first time and it would not definitely not our last. Also loved their customer service! So if you seafood that taste great, come visit them today.

Great family run restaurant! We’ve been going to City Fish for years. The fish and chips are the gold standard and quality is super consistent. Fried oysters and fried calamari are our other favorites! Service is ultra friendly and they treat me like a VIP.

The portions are Very substantial, The food is Deliciously wonderful and fresh. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. YUM!

We had not visited TCF for more than 4 yrs so thought of trying it out.

They are known for their Fish & Chips it's really generous portion.

Here are the food we ordered for ToGo-

Fish tacos from the appetizers it comes 2 in a plate, nice medium size Tacos. Nice fresh fish with good flavors & filling.

4 Prawns & 1 fish from the combo platter tempura style it comes with fries. Nice big size prawns & big piece of fish. Even though it was deep fried still it was very light & tasty only thing is I had expected steak cut fries which we are use to.

We added 1 more fish from the side to share equal portions for us.

Ciabatta crab sandwich includes fries - it had crab lettuce tomato mayo avocado & bacon. It was ok I had expected the sandwich to have more crabs.

Jalapeño poppers from the side it had 8 pieces- this was good & not very heavy.

Overall next time we will only go for Fish & Chips and prawns which we really loved it!

Lobster roll was delicious and so full of lobster. I think the staff were the owners of the place. Either way they were extremely nice and attentive. Will definitely go again.

Their clam chowder and fish was the biggest hit for our table. We have 6 ppl and 5 of us order the same thing. It's filled out tummies and their fish is big. The clam chowder made things tastier. The only con is it is yeet hay or hot air and I have canker sores. But it's still good. Would recommend to go after playing disk golf

The clam chowder bowl is hot thick flavorful delicious! The fish and chips are fillets and tasty. Bottomless pink lemonade. Crowded at lunch and dinner, that Good!

Good place for a quick bite. Big portions, and they have a kid's menu. Food was served very quickly, at the right temperature. You can see a lot of cars stopping to grab their to-go lunch. Definitely recommended!
