My partner hurt her knee snowboarding and ended up in the hospital and therefore we were unable to make it up to the 3rd floor balcony room we originally reserved. They were extremely understanding and gave me a refund on the room so we could just go home. Not all businesses will do things like this for you anymore. I will be booking a room here next year and will hopefully actually get to stay. Make sure you book through their website (:

Cozy hotel with great amenities. The s’mores are a nice touch. Good customer service and comfortable rooms. Will stay here again next time I’m in Tahoe for sure.

Really enjoyed staying here! This place is cute and has so many great amenities. There is an outdoor pool, cozy fire pit areas for the evenings (with free s'mores kits), bicycles for rent, coffee shop vibe at the reception area during the morning / early afternoon, and a morning and afternoon menu with items for purchase. It's located in a quiet area within a short walking distance of the main road with many shops & restaurants, and in the opposite direction is the beach. They provide free passes to one of the beaches - definitely worth going and getting some beach time in (though you can drive to quieter beaches as well).
The rooms are not huge and kind of basic but we had what we needed. I would've liked to have a desk inside as I was working remotely while here but made do with a nightstand and their cozy chair. The WiFi here also worked quite well.
I appreciated this property having a kitchen area for guest use. I brought some food with me that I was able to prepare during the week, e.g. Heat up baked oatmeal and make my own tea.
Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Loved this hotel. Very cozy. Friendly & helpful staff. Free smores by the fire every evening. Incredibly comfy beds, huge smart TVs with all functions unlocked. Good showers. Every room has heated toilet seats too but ours didn't work.
My only complaint is that the room didn't have a safe, and the bin collection from our room (810) was very loud at 7am.
Be aware that the hotel charges a resort fee of $30 a night (plus tax). We were aware beforehand but still annoying to have extra charges.

Hotel has a great location and walking distance to the delightful town centre with a great choice of activities, shops and restaurants.

The self service kitchen in the main building is very handy with microwave and toaster as well as crockery.

Rooms were spacious and ideal for our 2 night stay. Lots of street noise through the night and our room was next to the bin collection which woke us up very early! Beds not that comfortable, very soft mattress and pillows. Rooms also unequipped with a safety deposit box.

The bar menu is good with amazing toasties. Smores are a nice touch by the fire.

We stayed (2) nites. 9-20 & 21. Rooms were clean & coffee was good.
Will definitely stay again when in the area.
Also walking distance to casinos, beach area & nice restaurants.
Also saw Sasquatch as we were walking back to our room about 2: 30 in the morning…

$400 for one night in a really bad hotel on the ground floor. The walls are as thin as paper and the sink is broken. No kettle, no coffee machine, room directly facing the street and next to the room for the cleaning staff who come and go in the morning and evening. That's a disgrace. The only positive thing I can say is the free cutlery and marshmallows for the campfire and the two drink vouchers.

We would come back to Tahoe just for the Coachman alone! The atmosphere is so relaxing with the fire pits, games, pool, and bar that has a happy hour. The beds are super comfortable and it was nice to have breakfast available for purchase. It is also within walking distance to just about everything you need for restaurants.

The room was not clean, there was no place to make coffee, there were glass cups, there were a lot of bread crumbs. I stayed two nights and there was never a service to clean the room. It is not a pleasure to pay 400 per night, I expect something better.

Expensive hostel! This is similar to a one or two star hotel or basic hostel. Great location but very run down rooms. Insulation in walls is terrible - you can hear people in other rooms and outside at all hours of the night. Floors are concrete and old rubber that you would find in a ski shack. Pool tired, not heated and cracking everywhere. Small white subway tile with dirty grout in bathroom. Bathroom sink in main section of sleeping area. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life.

The hotel's prime location is its standout feature, offering easy access to nearby attractions and dining options. However, the steep price of $480+ (including taxes), does not align with the lackluster experience it provides. Basic amenities such as an iron and in-room coffee machine were notably absent, and the service quality left much to be desired, requiring multiple requests. Housekeeping oversights, like the failure to replenish hand towels, further diminished the overall impression. Noise issues late at night, and blocked natural light (first floor) from parked cars outside the windows added to the overall disappointment of the stay.

We booked this room as it's close to the lake/beach, however it costs $25 per person to access the lake/beach per day. We also booked it because of the "Heated pool, but it was too cold to even dip your toes in. The room was decent but across the street from the lobby and rest of the hotel. No real food menu. Was a bad decision to stay here.

I booked this hotel because of the high ratings and proximity to the beach. The beach is very close by but they charge an outrageous fee. I was NOT offered a FREE beach pass from the hotel and I remember seeing comments from folks saying they got free beach passes. I didn't bother to go back to the unfriendly front desk to ask. Also, the front desk was strange, because there is no front desk - just a bar. The room looks nice but the sheets were itchy. Are there bed bugs? Who knows. Overall, not worth the price to stay here.

This is an old updated motel, when looking at the images it appears you are getting an upscale room with amenities. Its divided into two propertie, one side looks like an old apartment building with stairs and no elevator for pregnant, disabled or those with pets. The floors are concrete with no rug very cold and not cozy as shown in images. Checkin is at a bar and not the friendliest of service, almost felt like it was an inconvenience to check in guest. Smores we’re not fresh and parking was horrible. The mini refrigerator was not working and all my food had to be thrown out. I see potential in this property, but for now it was one of my worse stays visiting for first time.

Overall hotel rooms are clean and they don't smell bad at all which we liked. But rooms are small and bathroom too definitely looks bigger in pictures lol.
But overall staff was very friendly and the area seems safe. Definitely a family friendly hotel.

The room’s very spacious, we got one on the 2nd level with two queen beds. Location is perfect since it’s near Lakeside beach on which you’ll have free access to since it’s included in your stay, if not, you’ll pay $25 per adult. They also have a jacuzzi and a pool, free bikes, free welcome drinks and s’mores every night!

A cozy fantastic hotel that is a little behind the main route. Unbelievably nice service at check-in and then when we had a drink and s'mores at the bar. Incredibly nice little fire place on the outside where you can hang out in the evening with s'mores and good drinks! Can absolutely be recommended and spacious rooms.

I have so much to say about this place. The first thing, is there is nothing "hotel" about the experience, at best this is an elevated motel in look, experience, and customer service. Btw, a premium room will get you a chair in addition to your beds, - no safe, no microwave, no iron, honestly you get nothing for the price you pay - so save your money ans splurge on the many other options nearby with excellent rooms and competent staff. The customer service with the front staff is disgusting, rude and condescending. They will roll their eyes at you and blame their rudeness on dyslexia. Also, if you ask to use your drink ticket and then proceed to get drinks they will accuse you of theft and bark "what did you take" like a street shop owner. I expected more from a "hotel" at this price, and more from just basic customer service. Please, please take your business elsewhere, and save yourself the mediocrity and rudeness.

4 stars for location, but stay at Desolation! Beautiful hotel and amazing staff!

We had a fantastic stay at The Coachman. The hotel structure itself is nothing fancy, but The Coachman has added details to make your experience feel over-the-top - from Stumptown coffee to the heated toilet seat.
Additionally, the hospitality was incredible. You felt as if you were staying in someone's vacation home or property. Mori and Darcy particularly stood out - they made sure we had a great time in Tahoe while making us feel like old friends.
We moved hotels for a deal, staying in a 4 star hotel our last couple nights. Even with the extra amenities, we wish we would have just continued our stay at The Coachman.

In a beautiful location and Dog friendly! Lot of space to walk around and fun spots to sit and listen to the wind in the trees. If you are looking for a dog friendly beach, there is a park called Nevada Beach just a short drive away. Great trail hikes and access to the water, very clean!
